Chapter 53: Sleeping in Her Bed

Dad, Stay Away from My Mom

So, the truth is that Raymond was really just helping Emily check her eyes?

Emily's eyes sure know how to pick a moment; they didn't hurt earlier or later, but started hurting just as she pushed the door open.

Moreover, Raymond knew Emily was there, so why did he invite her to the office?

"Did you send someone to notify me to come over this afternoon?" Melinda looked at Raymond on the sofa with confusion.

Raymond frowned slightly, "I didn't."

Melinda sneered inwardly, it seemed this was Emily's doing, she just wanted to create a misunderstanding with this act.

She didn't think much more and asked directly, "Given the current situation, do you think I need to explain it again?"

Raymond, sitting on the sofa, with a deep and magnetic voice, said, "No, I believe you." Melinda was slightly stunned, she didn't expect him to trust her so much.

When she handed back the phone, she inadvertently noticed that Raymond's face looked a bit unnatural, and there was a fine sweat on his forehead.

"What's wrong with you?" she couldn't help but ask with concern, "Are you feeling unwell?"

"My stomach hurts." Raymond clutched his abdomen, his voice somewhat weak, "It's nothing, I'll just endure it."

Melinda's face changed, "Does it hurt a lot? Do you need to go to the hospital?" She blamed herself while also blaming him, "You have a stomach problem, how could you eat spicy food! You should have told me directly!"

Seeing her anxious look, Raymond felt a warmth in his heart. He admired her for a moment before chuckling, "If I didn't eat it, how could you vent your anger?"

Melinda's chest tightened, indeed she had deliberately made spicy dishes.

She looked at him with some shame, "So what do you do now? Do you need to go to the hospital?"

"No need, there's a pharmacy at the entrance of the community, just go and buy me a box of stomach medicine." Raymond said, then handed her the empty water cup, "And please get me a cup of warm water."

Melinda took the cup, hurriedly filled it with water, and handed it to him.

Then she grabbed her bag and keys and rushed out to buy the medicine.

Standing in the elevator, Melinda was filled with regret.

If she had known, she wouldn't have given him spicy food out of impulse. Who would have thought he had a stomach problem?

For someone like him who is so focused on work, it's not surprising to have a stomach problem, but he usually takes good care of himself, so it's not an issue.

But tonight, all the dishes she made were spicy, and she forced him to eat so much, which triggered his stomach problem.

Oh, what to do? Melinda hurried to the pharmacy, bought a box of stomach medicine, and rushed back home.

Pushing the door open, she saw him clutching his stomach, looking in pain.

"I bought you the medicine, take two pills quickly."

Melinda hurriedly took out the pills and handed them to him, then glanced at the instructions, it was three pills.

She quickly corrected herself, "No, it's three pills, take them quickly."

Raymond took the pills, swallowed them, and drank a sip of water.

He leaned back on the sofa, his face a bit pale, "No need, I'll just rest for a bit."

Melinda looked at his painful expression, sweating with anxiety.

She had run all the way back, now standing in front of him, panting and full of worry.

Raymond's deep gaze locked onto her, taking in her anxious and caring look, a warm feeling surged in his heart.

Melinda was concerned about him.

But Melinda's concern was just out of inner unease, wanting to make up for her mistake.

"Do you really not need to go to the hospital? There's a hospital nearby." Melinda was still a bit worried.

"It's okay, I'll get through it." Raymond shook his head, holding her cup and sipping water from time to time.

Melinda sighed, sat on the sofa, and said guiltily, "You should have told me earlier that you don't eat spicy food and that you have a stomach problem."

Raymond's mind started to recall today's events, thinking about why she would treat him this way.

Was it because she saw him blowing on Emily's eye? Did she think he was going to kiss Emily? So she got angry and jealous, and that's why she did this to him?

Thinking of this, Raymond decided to test her feelings, "Melinda, did you think I was going to kiss Emily?"

At the mention of Emily's name, Melinda's face changed.

She snorted coldly, "You can kiss whoever you want, that's your business."

Raymond looked at her jealous expression, secretly amused.

He continued to press, "Then can you explain why you left work early, didn't answer my calls, and made a whole table of spicy food for me? Is it because you were jealous?" Melinda was rendered speechless by his questions, she feigned ignorance and smiled, "Was I? I left work early to pick up Sam, and I made a whole table of spicy food because I wanted to eat spicy food tonight. Raymond, you're overthinking it!" Raymond looked at her innocent face and shook his head helplessly, Melinda was really a mix of love and hate!

Melinda didn't want to continue this topic, glanced at the time, it was almost nine o'clock, she had to send him away: "Mr. Thomas, it's getting late, you should go home."

Raymond frowned and said in a deep voice, "I took the medicine, I can't drive now, I'm afraid I'll get drowsy." Implying that he needed to stay a bit longer.

Melinda knew he had people around who could help, so she suggested, "How about letting Stuart come to pick you up."

Raymond gave her a wistful look, with a hint of grievance in his tone, "You made me like this, and you won't even let me stay a bit longer?"

Melinda's face turned slightly red, she had to compromise, "Alright then, you rest a bit more, I'll go give Sam a bath, he needs to go to bed early."

"Do what you need to, I'll lie down for a while." Raymond said, then handed her the cup again, "Please get me another cup of water."

Melinda got up to pour water, then went to give Sam a bath.

Sam was unaware of what was happening outside, seeing Raymond still there, he

asked happily, "Raymond, are you staying at our house tonight?"

"He's just a bit tired, resting here for a while." Melinda quickly explained.

Sam responded with an "oh," a bit disappointed, and went into the bathroom.

Melinda gave Sam a bath and put him to bed.

After saying goodnight to Raymond, Sam fell into a deep sleep.

Melinda tucked Sam in and came out, only to find that Raymond was no longer on the sofa. She felt a bit relieved, finally, she could take a bath and rest.

However, when she started tidying up the living room, she found Raymond's car keys on the table.

She was stunned, did he leave his keys here? Then, she saw his phone on the sofa. She was shocked again, did she buy the wrong medicine, making him so disoriented that he left his phone and keys?

She quickly picked up the medicine box and checked, no, it was the right stomach medicine.

At that moment, a thought flashed through her mind, she hurriedly opened her bedroom door, and what she saw left her mind blank.
