Chapter 55: Everyone Sends Flowers

Dad, Stay Away from My Mom

Melinda's eyes widened as she looked at Raymond angrily, "Why are you back again?"

"I brought you breakfast." Raymond raised his eyebrows, gesturing towards the breakfast on the table.

Melinda glanced back at the wide-open door, feeling a wave of annoyance.

Did Raymond come into the room and watch her sleep just now? Did she drool? Did she do anything inappropriate? Or talk in her sleep?

Thinking of this, Melinda's cheeks flushed slightly. She looked down at her relatively conservative pajamas and cleared her throat, "You can leave now."

"I'll wait for you to finish breakfast and then take you to work." Raymond had no intention of leaving.

"No need, I'll just take a cab." Melinda quickly refused.

"What's wrong, what are you afraid of?" Raymond's voice was deep and powerful, leaving no room for doubt.

Melinda frowned, Raymond really treated her home as his own.

Why didn't he stay in his big luxurious villa and instead squeezed into her small apartment every day? But she was really hungry.

So, she walked to the table, opened the food box, and started eating breakfast. After eating for a while, she pretended to care and asked Raymond across from her, "Did you have breakfast?"

"I already ate." Raymond's gaze swept over, and he said lightly.

Melinda's heart tightened, and she tentatively asked, "Is your stomachache better?" She didn't want his condition to worsen because of her mistake.

Raymond snorted lightly, obviously still holding a grudge about last night, "I'm fine now, but Ms. Sharp should take care of my stomach more carefully in the future." Hearing this, Melinda felt a bit guilty and quickly nodded, "Yes, I'll be more careful in the future."

Seeing her obedient look, a satisfied smile appeared on his lips, "Ms. Sharp's sleeping posture is quite cute."

Hearing this, Melinda got angry immediately. She glared at Raymond, "You... you are not allowed to enter my room without my permission in the future! That's my private space."

He raised his eyebrows slightly and answered nonchalantly, "Alright, I won't go in."

Melinda wouldn't easily believe his lie. She snorted, "You better keep your word, or you'll be in trouble!"

After finishing breakfast, she just got in the car and glanced at the time, exclaiming, "Oh my god, it's 9:20! I've lost my perfect attendance bonus for this month again!"

Raymond glanced at her curiously, "What's wrong? Is perfect attendance very important?"

"Of course, it's important!" Melinda glared at him, "It's all your fault, staying at my place last night, causing me to lose sleep and miss work."

Raymond found it somewhat amusing, "Are you that short of money? How much is the perfect attendance bonus?"

"Who isn't short of money! Do you think everyone is as rich as you?" Melinda retorted, feeling a bit depressed.

Seeing her like this, Raymond's heart softened, "Alright, I'll make up for your perfect attendance bonus this month."

"Really?" Melinda's eyes lit up upon hearing this.

"Yes." Raymond nodded, a smile appearing on his lips as he looked at her.

Melinda's mood instantly improved. She looked out the window and started thinking about today's work.

When they arrived at the lab entrance, Melinda got out of the car and ran.

Raymond watched her fleeing figure and snorted.

When Melinda got to the office, she pressed the intercom, "Kathy, come in for a moment."

Kathy walked in with a cup of coffee, "Melinda, your coffee, I added a bit more cream today!"

Melinda felt a warmth in her heart but still asked the question in her mind, "Kathy, who told you yesterday afternoon that Mr. Thomas wanted to see me?"

Kathy blinked, "It was Tenley from the planning department. She came to my desk with some documents and said it. I notified you immediately!"

"Did Tenley say who told her?" Melinda asked.

Kathy shook her head, "I didn't ask. Should I go ask now?"

"No need."

Melinda waved her hand, "I was just asking casually. You can go out now; I need to start working."

It seemed that Emily's people were well hidden. But it didn't matter, Melinda wasn't useless! Next time something like this happened, she would be more careful!

Melinda buried herself in the lab.

Suddenly, Kathy knocked on the door and then pushed it open.

A delivery man followed her, holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers, smiling as he walked in, "Is this Ms. Sharp? These are your flowers."

Melinda glanced at the bouquet and knew it was from William.

She had specifically told Sharp not to send flowers last time, but he still didn't listen.

She smiled helplessly and pointed to the sofa, "Thank you, please put them there."

Just ten minutes later, Kathy knocked on the door again, with a mysterious smile on her face, "Melinda, someone else sent flowers."

As soon as she finished speaking, another delivery man walked in with a large bouquet of imported red roses.

The roses were vibrant and fragrant.

Melinda stood up, looking at the two bouquets delivered within ten minutes in astonishment.

What was William doing today? Sending two bouquets?

She walked to the bouquet of red roses and found a card inside. She reached out and took it out, reading a simple message: "I hope my wait has an end." The signature was Thomas, with a date below.

Melinda's beautiful eyes widened, looking at the surname in disbelief.

Among the men she knew, there was only one with the surname Thomas. Could it be him who sent it?

She hurried to the desk, picked up the phone, and dialed the president's office. However, no one answered on the other end. Unwilling to give up, she picked up her cell phone and dialed again.

"Hello!" A deep, magnetic voice came from the other end.

"Did you send me flowers?" Melinda asked directly.

"Do you like them?" Raymond asked in return.

"Boring, don't send them next time." Melinda looked at the two bouquets on the sofa, feeling a bit of a headache.

"You like the ones William sends, but you dislike mine?" Raymond said in frustration, with a hint of dissatisfaction in his tone.

Melinda was speechless, "Why are you comparing yourself to him? He's my friend, you're my boss, why are you sending me flowers?"

"I send them if I want to, whether you accept them is your business." Raymond finished speaking and hung up the phone.

Melinda was slightly stunned, looking at the phone that was hung up again, and sighed that Raymond was really unpredictable.

Not long after, Kathy brought in some documents and immediately saw the two bouquets on the sofa.

She walked over to admire them for a while and couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow! So beautiful! These roses are imported, there must be ninety-nine of them!"

"If you like them, take a few to put in the vase on your desk!" Melinda said generously. "Really? Can I really take two?" Kathy asked in surprise.
