Chapter 90 Jealous Mr. Thomas
Dad, Stay Away from My Mom
Leo sighed and nodded reluctantly. "Look, Mr. Schmidt, I don't know what my mom told you, but I'm not easily fooled. Are you really here for a date?"
Her eyes suddenly turned serious. "Did my mom send you?"
Leo awkwardly fidgeted with his fingers. "Yeah, Mrs. Lowe told me to come." So it was indeed Connie's arrangement.
"Mr. Schmidt, I have a kid. You should know that, so I might not be the right fit for you."
Melinda finished speaking and stood up to leave.
"Wait."
Leo also stood up. "Even though Ms. Sharp has made it clear, please let me introduce myself."
Melinda felt it was necessary to clarify things, otherwise, he might think she was just using him for a free meal.
"No, I mean, we can start as friends."
Hearing this, Melinda's tense heart relaxed a bit.
Leo turned out to be more talkative than she expected. He knew what she did for a living and started discussing her field.
"Seems like you're really into biological research!" Melinda said, finishing her last bite and wiping her mouth.
"Ms. Sharp, you're too kind. I'm just trying to impress a pro." Leo smiled.
As they walked out of the restaurant, Melinda's phone rang.
Seeing the caller ID, Melinda frowned unconsciously.
"Hello? Mr. Thomas, what can I do for you?" Melinda's tone had a hint of barely noticeable calmness.
On the other end, Raymond didn't waste any time and got straight to the point. "Where are you right now?"
Melinda was about to answer when suddenly, a male voice shouted in her ear, "Melinda, watch out!"
Immediately, she felt a force pull her to the side.
An out-of-control electric scooter whizzed past where she had just been standing.
She turned and met Leo's concerned gaze.
Melinda felt a warmth in her heart, gratitude evident in her eyes.
However, Raymond on the other end of the phone caught this slight change. "Who was that guy just now?"
Melinda was momentarily stunned but quickly regained her composure. "Mr. Thomas, I have something to do right now. I'll talk to you later."
She didn't want to explain too much over the phone, nor did she want to get involved in unnecessary disputes.
Leo watched as Melinda hung up the phone, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes. Meanwhile, in a private room of an upscale restaurant, the atmosphere was a bit tense. Raymond suddenly stood up, his face dark as he looked at his phone. "I have an urgent matter to attend to. I need to leave."
With that, he grabbed his suit jacket and left the room without looking back.
Marshall and Celestia exchanged glances, each calculating their own plans.
Celestia had dressed up meticulously tonight, but she hadn't expected Raymond to be so cold towards her.
She began to doubt whether her charm had any effect on Raymond.
"Could he have found out about my identity?" Celestia suddenly looked at Marshall, her voice tinged with panic. "Mr. Banks, you wouldn't betray my godfather, would you?"
Marshall, feeling her gaze, was terrified and quickly shook his head. "How could I betray him? My son's life is still in his hands." His voice trembled, clearly scared to the
core.
Celestia finally breathed a sigh of relief. She knew how ruthless her godfather could be.
If Marshall dared to betray him, he would face endless pain and torture.
"Mr. Banks, please help me get closer to Raymond in the future." Celestia raised her glass with a smile, trying to ease the tension.
However, Marshall only gave a bitter smile and didn't respond.
He knew very well that the Thomas family's struggles were beyond his involvement. He
just wanted to keep his son safe; he couldn't handle anything else.
On the other side, Melinda sat in Leo's car as they headed back to her neighborhood. Unbeknownst to her, a car was quietly tailing them.

Raymond sat in the back seat, irritably tugging at his tie, his face dark with anger. Stuart glanced at him through the rearview mirror, feeling a chill run down his spine. He knew that Ms. Sharp's situation had made Mr. Thomas very angry.
But he didn't know how to comfort Raymond. Melinda got out of the car, but they didn't realize that a pair of eyes was watching their every move from the shadows... Melinda didn't notice.
"Mr. Thomas, should we head home now?" Stuart asked, looking at Raymond in the rearview mirror, full of confusion. He didn't understand why Raymond was just watching his woman walk into the neighborhood with another man.
Raymond squinted, his eyes cold as ice.
Melinda had so easily pushed him towards another woman. Was it because she had already set her sights on another man?
Thinking of this, Raymond felt a sharp pain in his heart.
At home, Connie saw them return together and smiled with satisfaction.
It seemed she needed to create more opportunities for them.
In another year, once her daughter married into the Thomas family, she could finally be
at ease.
"Leo, we should get going. Sam has school tomorrow!" Connie didn't want to disturb Melinda's rest and suggested they leave.
"Mr. Schmidt, please take my mom home. Be careful on the way." Melinda smiled and reminded him.
"Of course, Melinda. Don't worry!" Leo nodded slightly.
"Don't be so formal, Leo. Just call her Melinda!" Connie interjected, trying to bring them closer.
Leo smiled and immediately corrected himself. "Alright, I'll call her Melinda from now on."
Melinda smiled graciously. "Sure!"
Connie and Leo left, and Melinda breathed a sigh of relief.
She turned to look at Sam, who was pouting and looking at her with dissatisfaction. "Mom, why does Grandma want you to date Mr. Schmidt? Don't you want Mr. Thomas anymore?" Sam asked, clearly unhappy.

Melinda was taken aback, her cheeks still slightly flushed. She quickly explained, "It's not a date, sweetheart. It's just someone Grandma knows. We need to be polite." "But I don't like Mr. Schmidt," Sam continued.
Melinda was surprised. She hadn't expected Sam to form such a strong opinion so quickly. "Sam, let's not tell Mr. Thomas about this, okay? It would make him very sad."
"Do you like Mr. Schmidt or Mr. Thomas more?" Sam persisted.
Melinda ruffled Sam's hair and gave a vague answer. "Mommy only likes you."
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Melinda thought Connie had forgotten something and came back to get it. Without thinking, she opened the door.
However, standing outside was a figure radiating anger-Raymond.
Melinda's eyes widened in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
Raymond let out a cold laugh, full of sarcasm. "If that man can come, why can't I?"
Melinda's heart skipped a beat. How did he know she was with another man? Did he run into Connie on his way up?
"Mr. Thomas!"
A child's voice broke the tension in the air. Sam saw Raymond and his face lit up with
joy.
The coldness on Raymond's face instantly melted, replaced by a gentle expression.
He picked up Sam and gently ruffled his hair. "Did you miss me?"
"Yes!" Sam answered without hesitation.
"How about I take you to your new school tomorrow?" Raymond asked warmly.
"Really? That would be great!" Sam's face beamed with satisfaction.
Melinda glanced at the time. It was already 9:40 PM.
Why wasn't Raymond going home to rest? Why did he come to her place?
