Chapter 92 Scandal
Dad, Stay Away from My Mom
"You... you should head home now. It's getting late," she said, trying to ease the tension, though her voice wavered a bit.
Raymond looked at her, took a deep breath, and tried to calm his emotions.
"Give me a kiss, and I'll go," he said softly.
Melinda hesitated for a moment, then stood on her tiptoes and gave him a light kiss on his thin lips.
"Go on, hurry!" she urged.
Raymond smiled contentedly, turned around, and left.
Melinda closed the door and let out a long sigh, as if she had just been through a battle.
Early the next morning, as Raymond's car pulled up to the entrance of the neighborhood, he saw Melinda holding Sam's hand, with Leo following behind.
Inside the car, Raymond's face was dark and brooding. His eyes were fixed ahead, a chilling intensity in his gaze.
Watching the two of them laughing and chatting, a surge of inexplicable anger rose within him. He clenched his fists tightly.
"Mr. Thomas, where to now?" Stuart asked cautiously.
Raymond didn't respond.
His heart was filled with resentment and anger. He felt that all his efforts over the past few months had been in vain.
So, she was this happy with another man.
He wanted to rush over and confront her, but he held back his anger.
Meanwhile, Melinda was completely unaware. She held Sam's little hand, with Leo by her side. From a distance, they looked like a happy family.
This scene was like a sharp needle, piercing deeply into Raymond's heart.
"Mr. Thomas, are you really not getting out of the car?" Stuart asked anxiously, thinking that if Mr. Thomas got out, Leo wouldn't stand a chance next to Melinda.
Mr. Thomas, with his charm and wealth, completely outshone Leo. So why was he just sitting there, watching Melinda with Leo?
Raymond's eyes were cold as ice, watching Melinda and the others leave. His fists were clenched so tightly that it seemed he might tear the fabric of his pants. His heart was filled with anger and frustration, yet his pride kept him from acting.
Was he really going to be jealous of a man who was inferior to him in every way? Was his love so pathetic that it needed to be maintained through force?
"Drive to the office," Raymond said, taking a deep breath and trying to calm the storm within him.
"Mr. Thomas, there's still time..."
Stuart saw through the rearview mirror that Melinda had just gotten into her car and felt anxious for Raymond.
"Didn't you hear me?" Raymond's tone carried an undeniable authority, and Stuart had no choice but to comply.
After dropping Sam off at school, Melinda hurried to the lab.
Around ten o'clock, while she was dealing with a pile of unread emails in her office, Kathy suddenly burst in, her face full of gossip and curiosity. "Ms. Sharp, guess what? Celestia, the new hire, received a bouquet of flowers. Guess who sent them?"
Melinda paused slightly, but kept her composure. "Who?"
"I heard it was Mr. Thomas!" Kathy's tone was filled with envy.
Melinda almost choked on her tea but quickly regained her composure. "It's her first official day at work. Mr. Thomas probably just wanted to make a good impression."
"Ms. Sharp, aren't you jealous?" Kathy looked at her in surprise.
Melinda chuckled. "Why would I be jealous?" Despite her words, a wave of inexplicable sadness washed over her.
Raymond hadn't shown up that morning.
Sam had been asking why Mr. Thomas didn't take him to school, looking visibly upset.
She tried to refocus on her work, but her mind was blank, and she didn't know where to start.
Melinda sighed. By lunchtime, Delilah noticed Melinda was in a bad mood and invited her to lunch.

As they sat down in the restaurant, Delilah suddenly pointed out the window. "Melinda, do you like that car?"
Melinda looked in the direction Delilah was pointing and saw a luxury car slowly passing by. "It's nice. I like the color," she said with a smile. "Too bad I can't afford it."
Just then, a clear female voice called out, "Ms. Lewis, Melinda! What a coincidence to see you here!"
Melinda turned and saw Celestia holding Raymond's arm at the restaurant entrance. She knew Celestia was the daughter of Raymond's father's friend. Melinda's heart skipped a beat, as if something had hit her hard. Why were they here together?
Celestia waved at them, then turned and deliberately bumped into Raymond's chest. She playfully pretended to twist her ankle and clung tightly to Raymond's waist. Raymond affectionately patted her head. "Be careful, don't be so clumsy." Then he led Celestia to a private room.
Melinda watched them walk away, a mix of emotions swirling inside her.
Delilah quickly tried to comfort her. "Melinda, don't be upset. It's normal for a boss and an employee to have lunch together. Maybe they just ran into each other."
"I'm fine," Melinda forced a smile. "They can do whatever they want. It has nothing to
do with me." But her eyes couldn't help but drift toward the private room.
The rest of the lunch, Melinda was distracted.
Her mind kept replaying the scene of Raymond and Celestia together, making her increasingly agitated.
After a quick lunch, she and Delilah returned to the lab.
In the private room, Celestia happily rested her chin on her hands, looking at Raymond. "Raymond, you're so kind! I'm so happy to have lunch with you!" Her face was beaming with joy.

His gaze was deep, as if he could see through Celestia's thoughts.
But his mind was on another woman.
Her image lingered in his mind.
"Raymond, was that beautiful bouquet this morning from you?"
Celestia blinked, her smile showing her curiosity.
Raymond nodded slightly, a hint of warmth in his deep eyes. "Yes, congratulations on your new job. I hope you like it."
"I love it, thank you." Celestia's smile was bright, but she felt a bit disappointed inside. Was the bouquet just a welcome gift?
She brought up the office gossip. "Raymond, there's a rumor about us at the company. Should I clarify it?"
Raymond looked out the window, his voice low and magnetic. "If it affects your work, you can explain. If not, there's no need."
Celestia smiled. She liked the misunderstanding and even hoped it would spread further.
Meanwhile, in another office, Melinda was distracted.
She hadn't turned a single page of the document in front of her, her thoughts far away.
Raymond's face kept appearing in her mind, his deep eyes and handsome features making it hard for her to focus.
Just then, Kathy knocked and entered, her expression cautious, as if she had something important to report.
"Ms. Sharp, have you heard?" she asked tentatively, her voice tinged with gossip.
Melinda snapped back to reality and looked at Kathy's mysterious expression, frowning slightly. "Heard what?"
"The rumor about Mr. Thomas and Celestia!" Kathy whispered, as if afraid someone might overhear.
