Chapter 98: Feelings for Raymond

Dad, Stay Away from My Mom

Raymond lowered his head and gently kissed her lips. His kiss was tender and passionate, as if he wanted to erase all her worries and doubts.

Melinda felt the world spinning around her. She closed her eyes tightly, letting Raymond's kiss linger and entwine with hers. Her heart raced, as if it was about to leap out of her chest.

After a long while, Raymond finally let her go. He looked at her flushed lips and dreamy eyes, feeling an inexplicable sense of satisfaction.

Raymond gently caressed her cheek and whispered, "Alright, no more jealousy, okay?"

Melinda looked into his affectionate eyes and warm smile, feeling a surge of warmth in her heart.

She nodded slightly, a happy smile spreading across her face.

"About that day when I didn't answer your call..." Melinda suddenly remembered something and quickly explained, "I was running late for work, and when I was dropping off Sam, I was almost late, so I had Leo take me."

She looked up at Raymond, afraid he might misunderstand her relationship with Leo.

However, Raymond just smiled faintly, a meaningful curve forming at the corner of his mouth.

Seeing her nervousness, he felt a strange sense of emotion.

She was explaining herself, which meant Melinda still cared about him.

"It was my fault. Can you forgive me?" Raymond coaxed in a low voice, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind.

His chin rested on Melinda's shoulder, breathing in her faint scent, feeling an immense sense of contentment and peace.

"Actually, there's something else I haven't told you."

Raymond looked at Melinda with a playful smile. "Last night, it was my car you got into. I was the one who brought you to the hotel, and I was the one who changed your robe."

Melinda sat on the edge of the bed, her mind buzzing as if something had exploded. Sileninin't reecritryness, silenkkreaviitwas Raymonter

The room still carried a hint of intimacy, and her cheeks flushed as she stared wide- eyed at Raymond.

"You... you..." Melinda's face turned bright red, her voice trembling slightly.

Raymond not only made her angry but also saw her when she was unconscious. It was too much.

Raymond chuckled softly at her shy and angry expression, his voice tinged with amusement. "Don't worry, I didn't do anything."

"You're a jerk!" Melinda blurted out, her cheeks turning even redder.

Raymond wasn't angry. Instead, he leaned closer, whispering teasingly in her ear, "You held me all night. I'm a normal man. You can imagine how hard it was for me. I need a cold shower."

Melinda understood his meaning, and the blush that had just faded returned, leaving her frozen in place.

Raymond got up and went to the bathroom.

She stretched lazily, wrapped her robe tighter around herself, and walked to the sofa by the balcony, her mind in a whirl.

The morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, bringing a touch of warmth.

The rumors about Raymond and Celestia were false, which was a relief.

But the tears she shed for Raymond in the past few days were real, and so was her jealousy.

What was happening to her? Had she really fallen for Raymond?

Melinda looked up at the sky, feeling conflicted.

Raymond was always so unpredictable, sometimes gentle, sometimes domineering, making him impossible to resist.

Soon, Stuart arrived with clean clothes.

Melinda changed into a simple yet elegant dress. Raymond had Stuart drive her home, and she sat in the car, lost in thought.

Why did Raymond like her? She hadn't done anything special.

Stuart, observing the situation, felt the need to speak up for Raymond. "Ms. Sharp, just so you know, Mr. Thomas and Ms. Banks didn't have anything going on. They barely even met."

"Got it!" Melinda replied with an awkward smile.

She wasn't that petty. Since Raymond had explained, she wouldn't dwell on it.

The car arrived at her apartment complex, and Stuart left.

Melinda returned home just as Asher was leaving.

She looked at Sam's adorable face and couldn't help but kiss him repeatedly, a silly smile spreading across her face.

She couldn't tell Sam about her feelings for Raymond just yet.

But things weren't too bad. At least she saw Celestia for who she really was. She'd have

to be more cautious around Celestia in the lab.

Celestia came from a wealthy family and didn't need to work. So, her purpose was clear-she was after Raymond.

Thinking about Raymond's words that morning, Melinda felt both sweet and confused.

Meanwhile, Emily had made up her mind to completely change her image. She dialed Raymond's number.

"Raymond, I'm going abroad for a vacation for about three months. Before I leave, I wanted to say goodbye." Emily's voice was soft and reluctant.

"Okay, take care." Raymond's voice remained cold and distant.

Emily hid her disappointment. He was still as indifferent as ever.

From his tone, there was no warmth at all.

She couldn't help but wonder, without Melinda's influence, would he still be this polite?

Would they still have so many interactions?

"Raymond, next time we meet, I want you to see a different me," Emily said mysteriously.

"Alright," Raymond replied.

A fierce light flashed in Emily's eyes. He clearly understood her meaning but chose to

avoid it.

This was how he treated her!

Ridiculous!

"I'll miss you," Emily said sweetly.

Raymond remained silent.

Emily hung up the phone, unwilling to accept it.

Melinda walked briskly through the lab, heading straight for Delilah's office.

The door was slightly ajar. She knocked gently and heard Delilah's voice from inside, "Come in."

Pushing the door open, Melinda saw Delilah sitting at her desk, holding a steaming cup of coffee.

Seeing Melinda enter, Delilah smiled warmly and asked, "How was your Saturday night?"

Melinda's cheeks flushed. She stuck out her tongue, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Don't ask."

Delilah looked at her, already guessing most of it.

She put down her files, leaned forward slightly, and said in a near-confidential tone,

"Mr. Thomas is a great guy, very impressive in many ways. If you're interested in him, why not take the initiative?"

Hearing this, Melinda felt a mix of emotions.

Take the initiative?

She had never thought about pursuing Raymond actively.

But now, it seemed she couldn't hesitate any longer. Although Raymond always

approached her with a purpose, so what? She liked him, and that was an undeniable

fact.

Taking a deep breath, Melinda looked into Delilah's eyes and said, "Thank you for the advice. I know what I need to do."

Her tone was firm and resolute, as if she had made up her mind.

Delilah couldn't help but smile at her determination.

She reached out and patted Melinda's shoulder gently. "Good for you! Go for it! I

believe you can get what you want."

Melinda returned to her office and started catching up on her work.

Her previous enthusiasm seemed to have returned, filling her with determination and

energy.

Just then, there was a knock on her office door.
