Chapter 392
Betrayal At the Altar by Dolores Delia
Chapter 392 âAfter going through all those scandals, Smith Groupâs reputation is not as good as before, but things for Johnson Corporation are totally different. I didnât come here only to persuade Mr. Zane to give up on the investment in Smith Group, but also to help Johnson Corporation win your investment.â
Hearing that, Stuart was completely shocked.
At this very moment, he felt like even the blood in his veins was completely frozen. His pupils contracted as he stared at Rachel.
For people in the business world, Johnson Corporation was at the top of the game, beyond everyoneâs reach.
Now, Rachel had given him such an opportunity so straightforwardly.
But Stuart had been in the business world for decades and he would never give up on his principles after simply hearing a few words from Rachel.
After dinner, he asked Rachel to have a talk with him in his study.
âMiss Grey, at that time, you helped Smith Group get those investments and swore to me that Smith Group would be my most successful investment. Now, you want me to withdraw my investment. Arenât you fooling me? Why should I believe you?!â
âBecause Iâm Rachel Grey!â Rachelâs red lips curled into a bright smile as her eyes glistened. âWith the current scale of Smith Group, they wonât be half of Johnson Corporation even if they work hard for dozens or even a hundred years. More importantly, without me, how long do you think they can last, Mr. Zane?â
She was being very straightforward and she was right.
Back then, the Smith Group was able to rise again and gradually return to the right track only because of Rachelâs contribution.
You could say she was being arrogant or that she was just very confident, but you had to buy her words and she was quite convincing.
With the current size and situation of Smith Group, they were just a nobody compared to Johnson Corporation.
Anyone with a brain would know which one to choose, not to mention that Stuart actually was a wellâexperienced businessman.
Stuart stared at her for a moment and finally stood up, saying, âMiss Grey, Iâm looking forward to our cooperation.â
âHope we can work well together in the future,â Rachel said, shaking hands with Mr. Zane.
After leaving the study, Rachel walked up to David and said, âLetâs go now.â
Without any hesitation, David wrapped his arm around Rachelâs shoulder and strode toward the door with her.
Rachel didnât even get the chance to say goodbye to Eleanor.
David acted like there was a bloodâthirty, scary monster living in the house of the Summers family.
Rachel laughed when she got stuffed into the car by David as she looked at him, complaining âYouâre gonna make me look rude.â
âThey donât get to teach my girl what to do!â David said.
Rachel chuckled as she muttered, âYouâre being childish.â
âIf you know that Iâm childish, why did you still dare to provoke other people like that?â
Rachel raised her eyebrows and said, âI suddenly feel that what Mr Summers just said was actually right. I really shouldnât give up all the other options so easily when I have so many.â
David squinted his eyes and sneered wickedly, âIâll make sure there are no other options left for you!â
âYouâre so domineering and bossy!â
âIf I really was domineering and bossy, I wouldâve confined you by my side. David lifted her chin. He chuckled with his deep and cold voice scratching her heart like a feather.
