Chapter 415
Betrayal At the Altar by Dolores Delia
Chapter 415 Rachel quickly changed her clothes and rushed out of the door.
âMiss Grey, Mr. Jones is waiting for you in the dining room,â Mrs. Brown greeted Rachel with a smile.
Before she could finish, Rachel walked around her and said, âTell him that I have something urgent to attend to and Iâm leaving now.â
She had just walked down the spiral staircase when she saw David waiting for her in the dining room. âCome and eat first.â
âBut I...â Rachel subconsciously refused, but she saw that the food on the dining table had not been eaten. It was obvious that David had been waiting for her.
David must have seen through her inner conflict. He said, âIâll send you there after you finish eating.â
âFine.â
One could imagine how curious Mary and others were when David and Rachel appeared in front of them.
âTsk, no wonder we lost contact so early in the morning.â Maryâs gaze fell on the mark on Rachelâs neck, and a meaningful smile appeared in her eyes.
Rachel felt uncomfortable under Maryâs gaze. Rachel raised her hand and brushed her hair. âItâs getting late. Letâs go.â
âRemember to call me if you need anything,â David said.
Rachel responded, opened the door, and got into the car.
The car started, and Rachel found a comfortable position to nestle in. She took out the brown paper bag that she had prepared in advance and handed it to Linda.
âTake this.â
âWhatâs this?â Linda opened the brown paper bag in front of her with doubts in her heart.
Inside was a property ownership certificate and a set of keys.
âYou canât stay at Pollister any longer. Iâve helped your mother get a breakfast shop nearby so that you can continue living in Seaxas in the future,â Rachel said.
Hearing this, Linda tightened her grip on the property ownership certificate. She suppressed the tears in her eyes. âI appreciate your kindness, but I canât accept this.â
Rachel had helped her enough over the years.
Rachel had expected Linda to reject her, so she simply said, âDonât thank me yet. These things are not for free. I have additional conditions.â
Linda did not say anything. Instead, she waited quietly for Rachel to finish speaking.
âIâll deduct the money for the property and the rent for the breakfast shop from your salary every month. I also need you to sign a fifteenâyear contract with Johnson Corporation. Do you agree?â
âYes!â Linda said without hesitation.
She knew that Rachel only hoped that she could accept all of these with ease.
However, even without this condition, she would still work at Johnson Corporation and accompany Rachel.
Mary, who was sitting beside them, finally could not hold back the curiosity in her heart. âYou and David last night...â
She knew that Rachel was shy, so she did not say it too bluntly.
Rachel sighed softly. âNo.â
âWhy do you sound so disappointed?â Jessica asked.
Rachel briefly explained the situation and covered her face with her hands. âI feel like Iâve never been so embarrassed in my life.â
David listened to Eddieâs report absentâmindedly.
âArrange for a group of people to secretly follow her,â David said.
Eddie was stunned for a moment before he suddenly understood. âThe people from the Wood Team are at Pollister. Iâll give the order now.â
âTell them to follow her in the dark and not go out to disturb her, let alone hinder her.â
Eddie was a little confused. âThen how are our people going to protect Miss Grey?â
âProtect?â David muttered in a low voice and suddenly chuckled. âShe probably doesnât need much protection.â
Eddie said, âYes.â
