Tame Him: Chapter 13
Tame Him: A Dark High School Bully Romance (Rebels at Sterling Prep Book 2)
âMorning.â
My eyes flutter open to Ace gazing down at me. âHmm, morning,â I murmur. âWhat time is it?â
âTime for me to do this.â He rolls over me, caging my body to the mattress. I can feel him hard and ready at my core, and a bolt of lust shoots through me.
âDo you have any idea how fucking badly I want you?â His words are a low growl in my ear. âI can imagine you hot, tight and wet. Fuck, Remiâ¦â He grinds against me at a delicious angle. Iâm about to tell him to just do it when someone bangs on the door.
âRise and shine, fuckers. Weâve got school.â
âFuck off, Con, weâre busy.â Ace slides his tongue along the slope of my neck as we rock in synchrony. It feels so good, but I need more.
I needâ
âYouâve got two minutes before I come in there andââ
âFuck off,â we both yell.
Ace lets out a groan, dropping his head to my shoulder. âHeâs never going to quit now.â
âItâs okay.â I loop my arms around his neck, barely able to contain my smile.
Last night was fun, even if it got a little wild.
âMy headâs a little sore.â
âYou need water and breakfast.â
âMmm, no,â I drawl. âI need you.â
âPrincess, youâre playing with fire.â
âOne minute!â Conner yells, and Aceâs expression hardens.
âIâm going to fucking kill him.â
âHeâs just looking out for us. We canât miss any more school.â Not if we want to stand any chance of graduating.
âDonât remind me,â he grumbles, grazing his teeth along my collarbone. âCome on, letâs go feed you before my brother bursts in here and I have to kill him before he sees you naked.â
Ace climbs out of bed, and I delight in watching his body. His tattoos twist and move with every flex of his muscles.
âSee something you like, Princess?â he asks, catching my eye.
âYou know, I never did get my birthday ink.â
âYeah? You still want that?â
I suppress a smile and nod.
âLeave it with me.â
âIâm not sure I want to go back to the Heights though,â I blurt out. âNot if itâs dangerous for you.â
Ace stills at my words, his eyes alight with wonder. âCome here.â He crooks his finger at me and I go willingly, not caring that Iâm half naked.
âHow did I get so lucky?â Hooking his arm around my waist, Ace pulls me close. My hands slide up his abs.
âIâm proud of you, ya know? For taking the job with Ellenâs brother.â
âYeah, well, figured I need a legitimate way of earning some cash.â
âSo long as you know I donât need anything from you. This, what we have, itâs enough.â
âYou deserve so fucking much, Remi, and for the first time in my life, I want to change. I want to be better.â
The honesty in his words floors me. âAce, Iââ
âTimeâs up.â Conner bursts into the room. âOh God, my eyes. My fucking eyes.â He darts back out and laughter rumbles in my chest.
Ace, however, looks murderous. âIâll kill him. Iâll fucking kiââ
âRelax.â I press a kiss to his jaw. âHe knows I belong to you. Besides, him and Hadley seemed to be having fun last night. And Coleâ¦â My brows furrow. âDo you think the three of them⦠ya know?â
My stomach clenches, remembering the way the three of them were dancing together.
âDonât know, donât fucking care.â Ace lowers his eyes to mine and frowns. âYou like the idea of that?â
âI donât know.â The quiver to my voice betrays me. âI guess Iâm just curious.â My eyes flare, a wildfire rising inside me.
âFuck, Princess.â His lips glide to the shell of my ear. âI canât stand the thought of sharing you. Youâre mine. Every. Single. Inch. But imagining you all laid out before me, with some horny fucker watching⦠knowing that they can never have you⦠watching me tease and taste you and make you scream my name⦠Iâm not going to lie, it does all kinds of crazy shit to me.â
âJesus, Ace,â I breathe, my body trembling with need. My fingers dig into his shoulders as I imagine the scene he just painted.
âSeriously, bro, we need toââ
Ace cusses before storming over to the door and slamming it shut. âWeâre going to need a minute.â
âWhat are you doing?â I choke out.
âNeed you, Princess.â His voice is raw. âNeed to taste you before I even think about leaving the pool house.â Ace lifts me up and my legs wrap around his waist. âBed or shower?â he asks.
âOh my God, youâre crazy.â
âFor you, always.â
Laughter spills out of me. Crazy, love-drunk laughter. âShower. We should probably get cleaned up, anyway.â
âShower it is. But first, Princess,â Ace locks his eyes on me, full of promise. âIâm going to need to dirty you up.â
âWe need to talk,â I say to Hadley at lunch. The five of us are sitting in the cafeteria, much to the dismay of our classmates.
âI have no idea what youâre talking about.â
âYou know exactly what Iâm talking about.â I discreetly flick my eyes to Conner and Cole, who are busy looking at something on Aceâs phone.
The three of them are a force to be reckoned with. Even in their matching Sterling Prep uniforms they stick out. Ace is big and scary, and the white shirt and blazer does nothing to hide his inked skin. Conner wears his uniform with more finesse. He looks like a playful rogue, the kind of boy who will charm the panties off you and say thanks for the ride after. Then thereâs Cole. In some ways, he looks even scarier than Ace. It isnât so much how he looks but his presence. Thereâs a darkness shrouding him that you canât help but be affected by whenever heâs near.
âA girl never kisses and tells.â Hadley smirks, putting a potato chip into her mouth.
âSo there was kissing?â I mean, Iâd seen her kiss Cole, and Conner had been all up in her space, but Ace dragged me off to the bedroom long before the three of them crashed.
âThe three of you didnât⦠ya know?â I lower my voice.
âAnd if we did?â
âHads!â
âRelax. Nothing happened reallyâ¦â
Iâm not convinced by her words. But who am I to judge? I let Ace get me off while they were all right there.
I blush. âLast night was a little crazy, huh?â
âGirl, it was the most fun Iâve had in forever.â Sheâs wearing a secretive smile, and I want to push her for details, but something tells me whatever happened is going to stay between the three of them.
âSo, you like both of them?â
âMaybe I just wanted to have fun and let my hair down. I spend my days brushing shoulders with the SP elite. Itâs not a fun place to be for me. Sometimes itâs nice to just be⦠free.â
âYouâre right, I didnât mean to judge.â
âBecause youâre one to talk.â She fights a knowing smile.
âOh God, you saw that?â
âI didnât see so much as hear. It wasnât any wonder I was like a bitch in heat.â Just then, Conner leans over and snags a handful of chips. âPig,â Hadley mutters, swatting him away.
âYeah, but you love it.â He shoots her a megawatt smile. Cole isnât smiling though. Heâs glaring at his brother with murder in his eyes.
âJust be careful,â I whisper to Hadley. The last thing we need is her to come between the twins, not when everything finally seems good between all of us.
âUgh, fourth period calls.â
âNot for me, I have practice,â Cole says, standing.
âReady for the game Friday?â Hadley gets up too.
âI guess.â He shrugs, taking off without saying goodbye.
âIs he always soââ
âMiserable?â Conner leaps to his feet and slings his arm around Hadleyâs shoulder. âStick with me, baby. Iâll show you a good time.â He winks at her and the two of them share a secretive smile.
âOkay, this is just weird,â I say. Ace stands up and offers me his hand.
âBro, weâve got a fan club.â Conner flicks his head over to where the football team are. Bexley is in the center, glaring right at us.
Ace tenses beside me.
âIgnore him,â I say, pressing my hand against his stomach.
âI really fucking hate him.â
The scrape of Bexleyâs chair pierces the air as he stands up, narrowing his eyes at Ace.
âAce,â I say again.
A crackle of anticipation electrifies the air, a murmur of whispers rising as everyone waits to see what will happen.
âCome on then, Jagger.â He throws his hands up. âIâm right here. What are you waiting for?â
My grip on Ace tightens as his body trembles beneath my fingers. âDonât let him bait you.â
âI was thinking,â Bexley says, âthat maybe you can give me a few tips. I heard youâre real handy at making homemade movies.â
Peopleâs whispers turn to snickers.
âFuck keeping the peace.â Conner steps up beside us. âLetâs just end this now.â
âNo,â Ace says. âCome on, letâs go.â He slides his hand into mine and starts moving.
âYou know, Remi, I thought you were better than this. I thought you were better than him. But I guess, if you hang around with trash long enough, eventually you start to stink too.â
I turn slowly as the entire cafeteria takes a collective breath. âWhat did you just say to me?â Iâm shaking at his words, anger licking my insides.
âYou heard me.â His lip curls in disgust.
âHey, Bexley?â
âYeah?â He glances at his friends with a smug expression.
âGo fuck yourself.â I storm out of there and donât look back.
âWhoa.â Ace catches my wrist and pulls me into him. âWhere you going, Princess?â
âI hate him. I hate him so much.â
Ace pulls me down the hall and into an empty classroom. Tears burn the backs of my eyes, but it only frustrates me all the more.
âHe did that on purpose,â I cry. âHe tried to use me to get to you.â
âLet him try.â Ace leans back on the edge of a desk, fitting me between his legs.
âWhy are you so calm about this?â
âBecause I already won. I have the one thing he wants and can never have. You.â
âI stupidly let myself believe that maybe things would be easier now. But Bexley⦠Michaela⦠theyâll never stop, will they? No matter what we do, what we say, theyâll never stop.â My eyes drop to the floor. Iâm so fucking tired of being held to these unattainable standards.
âLook at me, Remi.â Ace curves his hand around the back of my neck and guides my face to his. âFuck. Them. You think I donât want to go out there and make him bleed? You think I donât want to ruin Michaela for what she did? I do. I want it so fucking badly. But we have to be smart, baby. We have to play this a little differently. I have too much to lose now.â
âAceâ¦â I lean in, touching my head to his. âI wish I didnât careâ¦â
âCaring makes you human. It makes you who you are. And Iâm so fucking gone for you, Remi, I canât see straight.â
âYeah?â A smile tugs at my lips. When he says things like this, itâs as if everything elseâBexley, Michaela, and my dadâit all just melts away.
âMichaela and Bexley will get whatâs coming to them, I promise.â He kisses my forehead. âNow, are we going to fool around in here, or are we going to go out there and show everyone that no one messes with Remi Tanner and her very sexy, very whipped boyfriend.â
âWhipped, huh?â
âIâm pretty sure if you asked me to burn down this school, Iâd do it.â
My eyes flare. âIs that a promise?â
He chuckles, pulling me closer. âMy little monster. Oh, how I canât wait to be inside you again.â
âHurry up and get over yourself then, because I need you, Ace, and Iâm not sure I can wait much longer.â
âPatience, Princess.â He stands, taking my hand and tugging me toward the door. âBut I promise, itâll be worth the wait.â
When I finally leave school, Iâm expecting to ride with Conner, but thereâs no sign of his car. Ace, however, is there, leaning against his bike, my helmet in his hand.
âI thought you had to work?â I ask.
âI do, but I wanted to give you a ride home.â
âYou mean, you wanted to check up on me.â Warmth spreads through me. Ace is so different lately. Heâs still the same tough guy from the Heights on the outside, but his walls are slowly coming down and heâs finally letting me in.
âIs that a crime?â
âNo.â I step into him, fisting his shirt. âItâs very sweet.â
âSweet?â He jerks back, looking mildly offended. âIâm not sweet.â
âYou are sometimes.â I fit my body against his, letting my lips drift to his ear. âWith me.â
âOnly ever for you. I still have a rep to protect.â Amusement plays in his voice.
âI know I sound like Iâm pushing, but have you thought about when youâll talk to James yet?â
âIâm really going to need my balls back at some point.â He smirks.
âI just donât want us to be blindsided by anything else. This thing between you and James, it needs figuring out.â
âAnd if I donât like what I find?â
âThen weâll deal with it. Together.â
âOkay. Iâll tell him we want to talk. I think Ellen said something about him working late tonight, but maybe we can catch him tomorrow.â
âReally, youâll do it?â
âAs Iâm quickly learning, Princess, there isnât much I wouldnât do for you.â
