Chapter 1: Pretty eyes

Cara's POV

Age: 6 years old.

Mommy told me I need to go to school to learn but I told her I don't want too. I reason out that watching Teletubbies and Barney everyday is enough and they teach me ABC's too!

So here I am sulking at the school. I don't even understand what Miss Anderson is telling us. If I stayed at home I had already finish 2 episodes of sesame's street.

I wish recess is near.

I am waiting for my mommy at the playground but there are 3 boys that are coming towards me. I call them the three stupid. Don't tell mom I know that word.

"You dumdum!" Stupid 1 shouted.

The other one pulled on my pig tails. It hurts but I'll not cry. I am a brave girl.

"Ouch! Pull your own hair not mine!"

I shouted at them.

"Your mommy is still not here to fetch you because she doesn't love you!" Stupid 3 taunted.

"My mommy loves me! Maybe yours doesn't love you because she gave birth to an ugly child like you!" I shouted back.

Stupid two suddenly push me so I fell on my butt. Owie. Great my only dress has dirt now.

"You!" I heard someone shouted.

The three stupid look to where the voice was heard.

"Leave her alone!"

They all suddenly runaway. What is happening?

A figure stand in front of me and he offered his hand.

I timidly accepted his offer and stand up slowly.

I stare at the boy in front of me and he has those hair that can't decide if it is blonde or brown. I am taller than him. He has a straight nose that I can only see on those actors on TV  and his eyes are different one is hazel and the other one is green.

He is beautiful.

Pretty eyes.

But he still has cooties.

"Are you okay?" He ask.

I am still dazedly staring at his eyes. It's really beautiful.

He waved his hand in front of my face and said.

"Helooooo! Can you hear me?"

I squint my eyes and look at this boy again.

I glare at him and said. "Of course I can hear you my hearing is just fine!"

"Good because you are just staring into space."

I am not staring into space like he said. I am just caught off guard with his eyes.

"Since you are okay I am leaving."

He turns around and when he was 10 steps away from me I run towards him and shouted.

"Hey!!"

He looks back and stop.

"What is your name?" I ask while panting.

"Blake and you are?"

"Cara."

"Nice to meet you Cara." He lifted his fist and I bump it and said "Nice to meet you Blake!" I grin at him Gap tooth and all.

"Bye!" He shouted.

He turns around and leave me standing in the middle of the playground.

"Cara!Honey!" I heard the voice of my mommy.

I look back and I saw my mommy standing at the gate of the school.

I grab my ratted bag and run towards mommy.

"Hi mommy!" I hugged her waist since that is the only part I can reach.

"Hi baby! Ready to go home?" She ask. I nodded and we walk towards the bus stop holding hands.

As we are waiting for the bus I saw the same boy at the playground. Blake is being escorted inside a shiny black car.

For some reason he look to where me and my mom are standing and he smiled at me.

I smile and wave at him. He nodded at me and entered the shiny car.

"Who's that baby do you know him?" My mom ask curiously.

"Yup that is Blake and I call him pretty eyes but he doesn't know it."

My mom look at me like she knows something that I don't.

Adults are weird.

The bus arrived and we started our journey back home. I hope I can still watch another episode of Power Puff girls.

Mommy is late again. I am sitting on the swing alone. Almost all of my schoolmates went home already.

Maybe mommy's boss made her work hard again. I look down on my old and small shoes. Mommy promised she will buy me a new one once she got her money. I can already see a small hole where my big toe is resting.

I sigh.

A black shiny shoes stop in front of me.

I slowly look up and it is pretty eyes.

"Hi Cara. Why are you still here?"he ask.

"Mommy is I think held up at work."

He nodded and sat down on the swing beside me.

"What does your mommy do?"

"Well she is one of those cleaning lady at the big hotel nearby."

Pretty eyes nodded slowly.

"I'll wait with you."

"Why?" I blurt out.

"Because you are my friend and I want to."

"Your parents might get mad." I reasoned out.

"Nope. Mama and Papa will not get angry. Charlie is with me so no worries."

"Charlie?" I ask.

He nodded towards the man standing outside the shiny car.

Mommy arrive when the sky turns orange already. We saw her panting and looking flustered. I run towards mommy and hugged her.

"Hi mommy!"

"I am sorry I am late baby."

"No worries! Blake is with me!" The said boy is slowly walking towards us.

My mom crouch down and said. "Thank you for waiting with my daughter Blake."

"No worries Ma'am. We can bring you and Cara to your home if you want."

Blake offered.

"No no that's okay."

"We insist Madam. It is not a hassle for Master Blake and I to bring you home." Charlie told my mom. I did not see him coming. Did he teleport?

My mom stand up and after a minute she nodded.

"Yes!" I exclaimed.

Suddenly Blake excitedly grab my hand and drag me towards the shiny car.

It is my first time riding this kind of car. We always took a bus.

"No worries. You can ride with me anytime you want.'' Blake replied.

Did I say my thoughts outloud?

They bring us back to our trailer. I bid Blake goodbye and he promised that we will see each other tomorrow.

Since then Blake will wait with me then him and Charlie will bring us to my home.

It is a bummer that he is not in my class so we don't have the same recess.

We only saw each other at the end of the school.

It was my birthday and I am excited because mommy promised me that we will eat at Chuck E cheese.

Blake gave me a gift. It is a gold necklace with a big C♡B intertwined. I did not accept it at first because it looks expensive but he said It is not and he put it on my neck. He made me promise that I will never remove it which I easily agreed.

As usual he waited with me since mom is running late again but for the first time he apologize because he needs to go home a little bit early because there is a party at his house.

Blake invited me to the party but I decline. Mommy will be worried if I go with him.

He reluctantly agreed and before he go he kiss my cheeks and wished me a happy birthday again.

I waited for mommy until the sky went dark.

My Mommy never came back.
