Chapter 200
Love’s Cunning Ruse ( Mr.Kieran And Julie )
Chapter 200
Julie found herself blocked outside the door by Kieran.
By the time she managed to open the door, the book in Kieranâs hand had already disappeared.
âI bet you wonât tell me where you hid the book!â She stood in front of him, looked around at the same time.
He looked down at her, giving her a nod. âYouâre spot on.â
âI really wish I could pretend I donât care, really!â She tiptoed to glance behind Kieran. After all, the most dangerous place is often the safest.
Without hesitation, Kieran turned around, giving her a full view, then turned back, grabbed her shoulders and asked, âReady for bed?â
âDonât change the subject.â She shrugged off his arm and moved closer to him, backing him into a corner, âDidnât we agree that there would be no more secrets?â
Her determined gaze had him sitting down on the bed. He looked at the serious Julie, responding seriously, âThis isnât our secret. More precisely, itâs myâ¦secret.â
With that, he gave up resisting, sprawling onto the bed, âBabe, ready for bed?â
She stood firmly by the bed, not taking the bait, but instead kicked his leg lightly, âWhy The Shadow Thief?â
âProbably because there is no The Heart Thief!â The man lying on the bed looked thoughtful.
Clearly, that was an evasive answer. Julie blurted out, âDid you badmouth me in the book?â
Before she could finish her sentence, Kieran suddenly sat up, grabbed her wrist and fell back onto the bed. Julie, pulled by his weight, collapsed onto him.
With her hands on either side of his head to avoid crushing him, she tried to get up, but he circled her waist with his big hand.
His sexy voice echoed in her ear, âHmm, thatâs why Iâm afraid youâll be upset after reading it. People shouldnât read books.â
Seriously? These words were from a top student? Julie wasnât buying it.
âStop messing around and let me go. I need to talk to you.â She positioned her hands on his body, the position a bit too intimate.
He still held her waist. She had just taken a shower and was only wearing a thin silk nightgown. His burning hand was like a branding iron on her waist, impossible
to ignore.
With one hand on her waist and the other grabbing the blanket, he wrapped them both up.
âHow about we chat under the blanket?â
As soon as he said this, Julie realized that he had easily changed the subject.
She stated, âI wonât read it.â
It sounded serious, not at all flirtatious or feigned anger. She looked into his deep eyes and said, âIf the book contains insults to me, I would be hurt. If it contains your love for me, I fear those promises will be forgotten. So, I donât want to read it.â
For those things youâre curious about, time will give you a satisfactory answer.
Hearing Julieâs words, Kieran reached out and pulled her into his arms. They lay on the bed, him holding her gently, his chin on her head, softly caressing her back.
âJoyce, youâre the only one in my lifeâ¦I dare not make any promises to.â
She understood his words.
She hugged his waist and buried her head deep in his chest.
She remembered what her mother once told her, a mature but burdened person usually wouldnât make promises easily as those oaths often disregard life and death. A person who truly loves you would value your life above all else.
After a while, she finally broke the silence, looking at him and asking, âHavenât you showered yet?â
She tried to roll over and get off him, but somehow, she was pressed back onto the bed. He avoided her injuries, looking at her somewhat frightened face, âHow about we do some sit-ups, and then take a shower together?â
Sit-ups and push-ups had a special meaning in her dictionary.
Her face turned red, âGet lost! Iâve already showered! Who wants to do sit-ups with you?â
She pushed Kieranâs shoulder away, looking very stern.
He just mentioned it casually. Julieâs wound had just started to scab, so he naturally wouldnât do anything to her. But Julieâs expression was a bit too seriousâ¦.
Kieran didnât think much of it. He kissed her forehead and then headed to the bathroom.
It was then that she realized her hands were trembling. As Kieran closed the bathroom door, she let out a sigh of relief, but her brows furrowed even deeper.
After a long hesitation, she finally pulled out her phone, opened WhatsApp, and sent a message.
When Kieran came out of the bathroom, he went straight to her bed, sat next to her, held her, and then turned off the light.

She should have been tired after a long day, but instead, she tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
âWhatâs wrong?â He asked, concerned.
She was silent for a while, then asked, âDo you remember what you said about Platonic love?â
âMm.â He answered, then asked, âAnd?â
âSuddenly, Lthink that kind of love is pretty good.â As soon as she finished speaking, the light turned on.
She looked at him innocently, âWhatâs up?â
âWhat are you up to?â He countered. In the middle of the night, she suddenly told him that Platonic love was great⦠His expression was pretty calm, all things considered.
Chapter 200
Julie pushed Kieran away, turned off the light, and said, âI get it. Itâs not me you like, but the physical intimacy with me!â
Kieran looked a bit innocent. He turned on the light again, stroked Julieâs face, and said, âIf you think I value physical contact more, then I should be sleeping with you right now, otherwise Iâm missing the point.â
Julie pushed Kieranâs hand away, turned off the light, and said, âCan we try Platonic love then?â
Kieran leaned down and gently kissed Julieâs lips, saying, âI can accept any form, except Platonic love. I can assure that our relationship is fresh every day. Today we can try sit-ups, tomorrow push-ups, the day after squats⦠Also, planks, yogaâ¦â
Julie couldnât take it anymore and quickly covered Kieranâs mouth, âSleep!â
Kieran turned the light on again, then flipped over, pinning Julie beneath him.
He leaned down and started kissing Julie. Her lips were like soft pudding, totally irresistible. He kissed her hard, as if trying to steal away her breath. What started off as a punishing kiss turned hotter and deeper.
Julie pushed against his chest with both hands, but her body melted into him.
Just when they were about to suffocateâ¦
The door was suddenly pushed open from the outside. Ivan was innocently standing at the entrance, holding a pillow, looking pitifully at the two on the bed and said, âKerry, thereâs a monster in my room!â
Julie, startled, shoved Kieran to the side with a swift kick. She said hurriedly, âDonât be scared. There are no monsters in the world, only bad people!â
Kieran frowned. Why didnât he lock the door tonight? Why?
Kieran looked at Ivan standing by the door and asked, âHow come the monster didnât eat you?â He knew this little boy seemed independent but was actually very dependent on them.
Ivan grinned and said, âI defeated the little monster, but Iâm afraid the police might catch me. I got scared, so I got up for a drink of water. When I got up, I saw the light in your room flashing.â
Kieran didnât believe him, but Julie, laughing, scooped Ivan up into her arms, âIâll sleep with you then!â
Ivan curled up comfortably in Julieâs arms and blew a kiss to Kieran. Seeing Kieranâs annoyed face, he told Julie, âDaddy looks so pitiful. Should we let him sleep with us?â
Kieran was speechless.
