Chapter 46
Love’s Cunning Ruse ( Mr.Kieran And Julie )
Chapter 46
Julie was quite good at taking a jab, but Kieran just smiled it off every time. In a blink, when Kieran was off guard, Julie snatched his phone and hung up
his call.
Kieran didnât take it easy. Julie wanted to snatch back the phone, but she knew she was no match for him. So, she just quietly resumed her meal.
In their marital life, Julie had learned to put up with him and adapt.
Kieran casually unlocked Julieâs phone without a passcode, then dialed her number with his phone. Hearing the busy tone, he knew heâd been blocked by Julie. No surprise there.
Kieran removed his number from Julieâs blocklist, labeled his contact as âExâhusband, and handed back the phone.
Seeing Exâhusband on her screen, Julie turned green with infuriation. âWhat the hell, Kieran?â
âJust like this, you wonât be able to scam anyone anymore,â Kieran said nonchalantly.
Scam? He was giving her too much credit! Was he implying that she deliberately crashed his car yesterday, trying to get close to him?
Julie tosses her phone on the table, staring at Kieran. âIâm broke, you can only wait for my accidental compensation
âYou mean, youâd rather die than give in?â Kieran chuckled, picking up his cup for a sip of water.
Julie wanted to tell him she had just drank from that cup, but she held back. If he wanted to drink, why should she care?
âGive me some time, Iâll pay for the car repair, she said.
âHow long is âsome time? A lifetime?â he retorted.
Julie snorted, âDidnât expect Mr. Hernandez to be this naive, believing in âa lifetimeâ.â
After a moment of silence, Julie looked at Kieran. âIâll pay you back, even if I have to sell my blood, or myself. Give me your bank account, Iâll transfer the money when I have it. Iâm broke now, thereâs no point pushing me.â
Julie was usually mildâmannered, but when pushed to the edge, she could go to the extreme. Kieran knew it. So he didnât make things harder for her, but he didnât leave his bank account with her either. Instead he pulled out a bank card from his wallet and handed it to Julie. âDeposit the money into this card when you have it.â
It was Kieranâs secondary card, with his name engraved on it, and no limit. He left the card and prepared to leave.
âWait!â Julie suddenly stopped Kieran, asking. âWhatâs the password of the card?â
âThe date of our divorceâ After saying that, Kieran left Julie with his handsome back facing her.
Julie was dumbfounded for a while. Her phone had been ringing for quite some time, vibrating on the table.
After Daphneâs call was abruptly hung up, she grew worried and decided to call again. Julie pocketed the card and answered the call.
*Julie, are you okay?â Daphneâs concerned voice was heartwarming.
âIâm fine, I was just fooling around.â
âOh good, glad youâre okayâ Daphne didnât criticize her for the joke, instead, she said, âThereâs an anniversary celebration at our alma mater tomorrow
Would you
like to come with me? There will be lots of outstanding alumni, some will even give speeches. The news always makes a big fuss about our alumni. Iâm planning to go too. You know I just recovered from my illness, and I need someone to help me carry the camera. Youâre free now, right? Iâll pay you with the magazineâs budget, ok?â
âSure but pay me a little extra, Julie agreed with a laugh.
