Chapter 89
The Spare Wife by Nadia Gordon
Chapter 89 Slandered Luna nodded. âHe should be bailed. Heâs better than Sean anyway. Aside from sleeping with you, that guyâs useless.â
Abigailâs cheeks burned. âStop talking about that. Iâm not sleepy anyway, so letâs deal with the clothes.â
Luna said, âWhatever you want.â
Kevin didnât go back. Instead, he went into Seanâs room.
Sean was seated before his desk. Coolly, he said, âAll settled?â
Kevin approached him and put his hands on the table. The usually flippant guy changed his attitude for a while. âI talked to Abigail just now. She thinks Victor didnât mean any harm.â
Sean was going through his files, but he stopped for a moment. âJust spit it out.â
Kevin looked at him and stammered, âIâI wonât hold back, then.â
âYou talk too much.â Sean was getting impatient.
Kevin quickly said, âAbigail said that if Victor wasnât the one who did it, we should just let it slide.â
Sean said nothing. He was going to go against Abigail and kick Victor out of the production team.
Kevin scratched his head. âI think you should reflect on yourself. Donât try to kick everyone out. You canât guarantee she wonât have suitors forever.â
Sean tossed his file away and looked at Kevin coolly. âWhat should I reflect on?â
Kevin said, concerned, âYou asked that so matterâofâfactly. You have no idea at all, huh? Victor helped Abigail do everything when her leg was hurt. Of course, sheâs touched.â
Sean fell silent. He helped Abigail with the draft too, but she wasnât touched at all. âI call the shots in the production team, not her,â said Sean, and he picked his file up to continue reading it.
Kevin was miffed. âI think Victorâs innocent too.â
âNone of your business now. Leave. I want evidence, not conjecture,â said Sean coldly.
The next day, Kevin came to Lunaâs room and saw Abigail there. Victor came in at the same time. A staff member came and tossed Victor onto the ground. Victor explained, âYou donât trust me either, Ms. Quinn? Yes, I approached you to gain something, but I swear I didnât mean to harm you.â
Luna was seated before the sewing machine, pretending to work. She fiddled with the shirt and asked Kevin, âFound anything?â
âYes. The chat history is still on his phone.â Kevin handed Victorâs phone to Abigail.
Abigail took a look and saw the chat history between Victor and Damian. Aside from telling him to buy the meds Abigail needed for her leg, there was also the request to purchase a kind of medicine.
sheâd never seen before.
âI have no idea about that med, I swear. Thereâs no way the production team would keep that kind fishy, Mr. Stewart?â Victor explained with reddened of stuff around. Donât you think this S eyes.
The med he wanted was available on any online shopping platform. It was a kind of aphrodisiac.
âIâll see if the production team has any of this lying around. The fact is that this chat history is real.
Donât tell me someone stole your phone and used it to create this chat.â Kevin sneered. He wouldnât listen to Victorâs explanation.
He was having a headache over Abigail and Sean having differences over this matter, but the trash took itself out.
Abigail checked the chat history and noticed that Victor wasnât that close to Damian. They barely chatted, and there was no way he would ask someone who was barely a stranger to buy something that dangerous.
Abigail handed the phone back to Kevin. âIâd like to hear his explanation in detail, Mr. Stewart.â
Kevin was happy a moment ago, but after what Abigail said, that happiness was gone. âYou trust him?â
Abigail didnât answer. Instead, she looked at the tearful Victor. She asked, âWhyâd you ask him to buy that for you?â
âI was going to give you the meds, but the team said they donât have it, so I asked if they could get it for me. I offered tips, but no one took my offer,â said Victor slowly.
âAnd?â Abigail asked.
Kevin was listening, and he was upset.
Victor choked. âMr. Light got mad because he couldnât find me and take my size. I explained things to him, and he said heâd help me out once things were done. I was worried he might get the wrong pill, so I told him the name of the med. I promise I didnât ask him to get the second kind of medicine.â
