Tempting - Chapter 39: Look Behind You

Tempting (Man x Man)

"Elizabeth!" I blurt as Coldren throws his head back and laughs.

"Yeah, was it good Calvin?"

"Okay fine, fine, you don't need to say anything about it. Just pulling your leg Ha." She giggles.

We finally make it to David's tent which is white linen fabric held up by two silver polls in the

middle of a green field. There's two glistening glass doors on the front leading to the inside with

metal handle bars; I almost burn myself on them from it being outside in the hot weather for so

long.

I see David talking to one of the park employees and I have to try not to swoon. He's wearing

khaki shorts with a red bright top, a huge contrast to what he would normally have on. On his

face are black sun glasses.

It seems like mostly everyone is here, and the others that aren't are already walking through the

door. I can't lie and say that I'm not excited. My heart is bumping in my chest with so much

energy like a delirious dog. I want to go on all the amusement park rides that are visible from the

tent's windows. I feel like a giddy child just being introduce to a play pen.

Sadly, my excitement is slightly squished from catching Chelsy staring at me from the employee

table. Her purple hair is in a high pony tail and she's wearing cotton white shorts with a black T.

I have to divert my attention to something else just so she can stop glaring at me. I just wish that

she can leave me alone. I just want to enjoy myself today without any drama. Finally, the

speakers next to the employee's table vibrate to life, giving out the announcements for today.

"Hello Employees of Corporate Wilm studios. We will be opening the park up to you in a moment. Please feel free to put on your registered IDs given to you by your Employer so there will be no problems in the future. I hope you all have a wonderful day at Spring Amusement Park."

A cheer escalates through the tent as I cover my ears with a smile. This is what I want, a mix of

enthusiastic energy bursting all around me. It kind of reminds me of what I never really had

when I was younger.

"Oh my god guys, look at that big drop over there!" Elizabeth points out one of the windows to a water tower with a huge slide dropping into a nearby pool.

"I want to go on that one first!" She bursts, earning a snicker from Coldren.

"You sound like a child. And also, we didn't bring our swim gear."

"We can rent them."

"Ew, and risk getting an infection? No way."

"Oh come on Coldren. You're no fun. I-" As they continue their banter, I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket as I reach in there and take it out. Its a text from David.

♥️David♥️: Meet me in the motel building next to the entrance of the Amusement park.

I look around flummoxed as I realize David is no where to be seen. Hmm... if I didn't know

better I'd think this was trick for me to get kidnapped.

"Calvin!"

"Huh?" I say with a start.

"Did you not hear me?"

"Oh I'm sorry, I was out of it."

"Well, its fine. What I was saying was wouldn't it be fun to go down that water slide?"

"Oh, uh, yeah it looks like fun. Sorry but I got to go... um to the bathroom."

"Oh, okay. We'll be by the registration table. Coldren lets go sign in."

"Sure." They finally walk off to find the registration stand as I open the metal doors to the

outside. The clear breeze of the morning air again sweeps past my face, lifting sweet aromas of

pie and kettle corn to my nose. I know I won't be able to eat any of it, but its enough to put my

mind at ease.

As I continue walking through the jumble of visitors to reach the entrance, I realize that I might

be a little lost. Oh man, Elizabeth has the map. How could I forget? I gently bop myself on the

forehead as my eyes trail the vicinity, my mind gripping with fear like a lost toddler. I look

around me to find the entrance of the tent but I guess I walked too far away. As I'm about to have

a melt down I feel someone tap my shoulder from behind and to my surprise and slight shock,

its-

"Hello Calvin. Its been a while."

"Mr. Hamsure?" I question with disbelief in my voice. He's wearing a sapphire colored t-shirt with

dark blue jeans, making his oceanic eyes pop out greatly. I try to keep my upcoming blush at bay

as he folds his arms over his stomach.

"Yes, that is my name." He smirks.

"Oh sorry. Ha, I didn't expect you to be here."

"I'm actually here with my niece, she's on one of the rides over there." He points to a blonde

haired child riding a fake unicorn in circles.

"Wow, that's so sweet."

"But I have to ask, what are you doing here?"

"Oh, Mr. Malone has decided to do a get together event as an reward." I answer. I try to not look

him directly in the eyes in fear that I would get lost in them.

"What a nice chap he his. I'm just glad I got to see you again, just to know you're alright." With

this, he grabs my shoulder and gives it a squeeze as my face bursts with heat. Keep it together,

you were doing so well!

"Thank you... you too. I'm glad to... see you again actually."

"Oh really? Wow, you're making me blush Calvin."

"God, stop it." I laugh as he fake swoons.

"Well taking out my niece was one thing, but seeing you made my day a little more brighter. Thank you for that."

"N-No problem." I feel various types of emotions as he says this. I never knew he appreciated my

presence that much. I mostly thought I was a inconvenience to him despite the day he had

basically asked me out.

A few moments pass by as we stare at each other, but not until a shrill girl's voice sounds over

our tension.

"Uncle Hamsure! Uncle Hamsure look at me, I'm a princess!"

Mr. Hamsure waves back at the girl riding the unicorn as a bright smile lights up his face.

"Yes. Yes you are." He calls out,

"Calvin, if you don't mind I need to get back to my niece. As I said before it was nice talking to you again."

"Y-Yeah. See you around."

"You too." I bite my bottom lip as he turns to walk away, but something in me stops him.

"Um... d-do you mind giving me your... I mean you don't have to if you don't want t-"

"What is it?"

"Your number?"

One of his eyebrows rise in a perfect arch as a smirk sits on his face once again.

"Is this your way of asking me on a date Calvin Stewert?"

"N-No way! Nah, just as friends, you know? Because friends h-have each others numbers, right?"

I cringe internally from my redundant reasoning but he seemed to be enjoying it.

"Fine. Hand it over." We swap numbers, but another important thought  floats to the top off my mind.

"Also, do you happen to know where the entrance of the park is?"

"It should be over there. Just keep walking in that direction."

"Thanks... hope to see you again."

"You too." He winks and walks off before I do the same.

I walk in the direction he said, turning up at the gate in 5 minutes.

I look around for a motel until my eyes land on a short wide building with multiple windows and

a second story floor. Also there was a bring sign on front that said 'Molly's Motel'.

I walk to the front door before pulling out my phone, texting David back.

Me: I'm here but I don't know which door.

♥️David♥️: Look behind you.

Well, David can you be anymore smooth but creepy. At least Calvin's into it. Anyway, seems like things are about to heat up so put your sunglasses on and enjoy ;)
