Chapter 317
Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 0317
âTake this,â he commands, giving me his black card.
I stared at the card with uncertainty. âRowanâ¦â
âTake it, Ava. Youâre now mine, meaning everything I have is as long as weâre together, you donât get to
use it.â
Frowning in confusion, my eyes shift from the card to him. I didnât understand what he meant by âI have
moneyâ. I didnât have time to question him, nor did I argue, because with the way he was looking at me,
I knew he wouldnât budge.
âFine,â I mutter, taking the card. âThank youâ
I wasnât planning to use it, but he didnât need to know that now, did he? After saying goodbye,
I leave our home. We decide to use one car, so one of the bodyguards drives us to the mall.
I was so excited that I could barely contain myself. Soon enough, we get there, and after
parking the car, we head straight to the shops while Morris follows behind.
âSo what exactly are you looking for?â Letty asks when we enter one of the exclusive shops.
I look at the place in nervousness, my mind reeling from the price tags.
âLetty, I donât think I can afford anything hereâ I commented in a shrill voice. âThe price here, is enough
to give me a damn heart attackâ
They look at each other before turning to me. âWhat the hell are you talking aboutâ Corrine looks at me
in confusion.
âI mean, with my teacher salary, I canât afford any of this, and I donât want to use the card that Rowan
gave me. Letâs just look for something cheaper.â
Letty takes my hand and leads me to the couch, while Corrine asks the shop assistant to give us some
time.
âI donât know if Rowan told you this, but youâre parents are freaking rich, Ava. You know who the
Howellâs are, right?â She asks, and I nod. Everyone knew who they were. âWell, your parents are the
Howellâs. Nora and Theo Howellâ
I stare at her, not sure whether I should believe her or not. I havenât talked to them in a while, even
though theyâve reached out a lot. I planned to visit them next week.
âApart from that, youâre rich all on your own, Ava. You donât need Rowanâs or your parentâs money. You
are a freaking millionaire, so Iâm damn sure you can afford anything in this shop,â she finishes, blowing
my mind.
âHow the hell am I rich?â I asked, unable to comprehend what she was telling me. It feels like for the
fact that Rowan took care of everything related to Noah, I would have been in deep shit.
âThatâs a story for another day,â she says. âFor now, letâs get you something that will make sure
Rowanâs eyes are on you the whole night.â
We get to work and after going through so many dresses and so many shops, we finally settle on a
dress that all of us agree on. Since I apparently had money, I also went on shopping spree. I bought
new dresses, skirts, shoes, tops and so on. I also bought somethings for the kids.
By the time we were done, I was tired but excited at the same time.
âIâm so happy for you, Ava.â Letty says this while we are on our way home. âIâm glad to see this thing
between you and Rowan working out.
âOf all of us, she was the one who realized that Rowan loved you even though you kept denying it.
Sheâs been Team Rowan from the start,â Corrine adds with a smile.
I was happy. Truly happy. My only prayer is that nothing messes it up.
