Chapter 357
Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 0357
âLet her go, or | swear, Christine, I'll kill you.â
In anger, she pushes me aside and starts shooting outside. âYou love me! You should be on my side, not hers. Youâre hurting me
by choosing her.â
She continues shooting. | hear a grunt and a curse, and my heart and fear spike up. What if one of the bullets hit Rowan?
Fear replaces anger, and | launch to my feet. | was not going to let her intimidate me in my house or hurt the man | loved.
Enough was enough. | was done letting her push me around. It ends today.
| grab the nearest thing to me and launch it at her. Itâs only after it hits her that | realize itâs a vase. | feel some satisfaction when it
breaks on her head. She sharply turns to glare at me as if she canât believe that Iâd just done what Iâve done.
Before she has the chance to react, | charge and jump on her. She is taken by surprise and falls down. The gun slides from her
hand, but that doesnât stop me from attacking with a certain viciousness | didnât know | had.
âYou fucking bitch!â | yell, my anger blinding me. âYou nearly took everything from me; donât even mind me; you nearly killed my
daughter, and now you probably injured Rowan. Iâm gonna kill you!â
âGet off me, you crazy bitch!â
âCrazy? Iâm going to show you crazy.â
She tries pulling me off her, but she doesnât manage to. | could hear sirens, but the sound was too far away. My focus was on the
woman who had nearly destroyed my life, and all of it was because of an illusion she had.
| was just thinking of how | should take the gun she dropped and use it against her when someone grabs me by the waist and
pulls me off her.
âLet me at her. Iâm not done with her yet!â | scream, completely livid at the audacity.
âCalm down, spitfire.â His deep voice penetrates the haze of anger and bitterness.
It's then that | realize that we are no longer alone. The house was full of officers, and Christine was being handcuffed. She
looked terrible.
âYou did a number on her, Ava,â Brian says with amusement.
She had a broken nose, two black eyes, a split lip, a missing tooth, and scratches
1/2
She was now in the hands of the police.
âYou got shot.â | turn and face Rowan, remembering that | heard him grunt.
âIt's nothing but a scratch. It just took me by surprise,â he replies while | look him over, making sure that heâs really okay.
He was. The bullet didnât do any damage, and | was grateful for that. | donât know what | would have done if it had been
otherwise.
I stare at him, and we get lost in each other. The police officers disappear. Itâs just me and him.
âThis is so not how | imagined us getting back together,â | grumble.
He chuckles before lowering his head and kissing me like a man who has been starved.
âDoesn't matter, as long as you still want me,â he says against my mouth, and | canât help smiling at his words.
