Don't Hug Me I'm Scared {Billie Eilish}

Dahlia's POV

***********

I groaned as I tried to roll over and my eyes quickly flew open when I hit the ground with a thud. "Ow." I drew the word out as I tried to stand up, but my head was spinning.

"Isn't this embarrassing?" It was Cora's voice who said it. I looked in her direction and sighed as I saw her holding her phone up, clearly recording. "Oh, please don't mind me. Just collecting more data. Just blackmail things, you know?"

"When I can feel my body again, I'm going to hurt you." I mumbled before slowly sliding back onto the couch. "What time is it? How'd I get home? Are the twins okay? Where's dad?"

"Whoa, dude, just because your head hurts it doesn't mean you have to give me a headache too. All those fucking questions—" Cora shook her head as she finally put her phone in her pocket and then hightailed it up the stairs without answering any of my questions.

I rolled my eyes and let out another groan before shoving my head into the nearest pillow.

"Billie brought you and it's noon." Denver's voice was too loud for my liking and I groaned yet again. "Caden's been texting me all morning about some girl he met at the party you guys went to that I was neither invited to or informed about, so I'm guessing the twins are good."

He shoved my feet off the couch, the rest of my body nearly falling off with them, and then sat down, bouncing around a few times before finally being still. "I hate you," I mumbled, knowing he was doing it on purpose. "And I did tell you I was going to a party."

"You failed to mention the fact that it was a full-fledged high school party and not one of those lame little study sessions you have with people in your clubs that you call parties." He grumbled. "You failed to mention that you'd be getting drunk and not getting home until, CORA!? When did she get home again?!" He screamed at the top of his lungs and I winced before hurriedly covering my ears.

"One o'clock!" She yelled back.

"One o'clock." He sighed. "You should've told me."

"You're not my fucking dad, Denny, give it up."

"You're right, I'm not. Why don't we tell our actual dad about this then, huh?"

"One isn't even that late and I don't have to tell you everything I do. I was safe with my friends and with Billie. You go to parties all the time. What's the big deal?"

"The big deal is that you're my little sister and if anything happened to you I'd be stuck with just Cora-"

"I can still hear you!" She screamed.

"I always tell you guys when I'm going out and I tell you where I'm going so that you don't have to worry or be shocked when I show up shit faced at one o'clock in the fucking morning. Parties can be fun but they can be dangerous too, especially for someone like you."

"Someone like me?" I growled, sitting up way too fast. "The hell does that mean?" I rubbed my forehead, trying to ease the pain.

"Someone like you who's young, naive, and not used to that type of atmosphere. Look, next time just tell me where you're going so we don't have to have this talk again, okay?"

I nodded, pouting. He chuckled as he handed me two pills and a bottle of apple juice. My favorite.

"Thanks, Denny."

"Yeah, whatever. Dad asked why you were passed out on the couch and I told him it's because you stayed up half the night watching anime like you used to. So, if he asks, tell him you're on season five of Naruto."

I laughed before taking a sip of my juice and then slowly getting off the couch. "I've gotta go text Billie."

"I'm actually going to see Finneas today. Wanna come with? You know, since you're stealing my friend." He sent me a look. I rolled my eyes.

"It's not my fault I'm the better Doe. Why didn't you tell me you were learning to play guitar?" I asked curiously.

He shrugged. "I guess I just never got around to mentioning it."

I nodded before thinking for a moment. My head was still pounding and I didn't think I'd feel any better by the time I got to Billie's, but I wanted to see her and thank her for getting me home safe last night. "Sure, I'll come with. Give me fifteen minutes."

***

Billie's house is surprisingly pretty small and it's really cozy. Her parents, Maggie and Patrick, are absolute sweethearts and so is her brother. Finneas immediately recognized me from the day he'd come into the office and engulfed me in a big hug. He told me Billie talked about me a lot which made me blush.

After meeting all her family, I headed off in the direction of her room. Finneas had told me where it was before he and Denver had disappeared into his own room.

I knocked on the door a few times and decided to just go in when I didn't get a reply. I was shocked to see that it was red—the lights. It's cool though. When I was younger I used to have purple light bulbs.

Walking into her room made me wonder why I'd gotten rid of them. They were fucking dope.

I closed the door behind me as I slowly looked around, trying to get a feel of the room without being too nosy. I looked down at her bed and gasped, seeing that she was buried deep in the covers, asleep. She was clinging to a teddy bear and it had to be the cutest and most unexpected thing I'd ever seen in my life.

I took my phone out and snapped a quick picture before shoving it back into my pocket and crawling onto her bed, shaking her gently until her eyes fluttered open. They widened slightly, but she didn't move.

She rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand and sent me a lazy smile. "Waking up wouldn't be so damn annoying if I got to see you first thing in the morning all the time."

My cheeks immediately burned and I was happy that for once it wasn't noticeable because of the lights. "Sorry for waking you up, but I thought it'd be creepy to just sit here and wait until you woke up by yourself."

"That's okay, baby." Her voice was raspy from just waking up and I couldn't believe how sexy I found that. She tugged my arm and then grabbed my waist, pulling me down. "Cuddle with me."

So sleepy Billie is just as flirtatious as not sleepy Billie but in a super cute way.

"How was the party? I don't remember much from the last couple hours we were there, but we're both alive so I figure things went good." I joked. I felt her tense up and I looked up at her quickly to see her already looking down at me.

"What do you remember?" She asked quietly.

I sighed as I thought for a moment. "Last thing I remember is me..." I paused, my cheeks somehow getting even hotter. "Grinding on you like my life depended on it."

She let out a small laugh, her fingertips drawing patterns on my arm as she pulled me even closer to her.

This felt fucking fantastic. I can't even begin to imagine how amazing it'd be waking up to her, being with her. I'm glad she gives me the attention she does. A few weeks ago, we didn't know each other at all and now we're always seeing each other—and we're fucking cuddling in her room, but I wish I could get more from her. I want to go on a date with her or something. That'd be dope.

I want to kiss her.

I wonder what that'd be like. Her lips are so plump and full and they always look impossibly soft. The way her tongue always pokes out when she sees something she likes...I wonder how she tastes?

Probably like fucking strawberries and roses or something.

"Don't be embarrassed, babe, I didn't mind it even just a little bit." She laughed. I sighed, sliding further down and burying my head in the covers around her stomach. My head was still hurting and thinking about how much of a fucking fool I must've made myself look like yesterday was not helping.

"Something else happened at the party, but we can talk about it later." She muttered. "You look like you could use a nap."

"I could, but I didn't come over here just to crash in your bed."

"That's a shame."

I grinned before pinching her side. "I came to thank you for getting me home safe and looking after me all night. I wasn't actually expecting you to stick with me. Thought you'd get bored."

"If I say imma do it, imma do it." She stated simply. "It's no problem. I had fun."

"Thanks."

"Now that you've said all that, nap with me?"

I nodded quickly, regretting the movement as soon as I did it. She silently lifted the covers on her other side and patted the bed. I crawled over and made myself comfortable, wrapping my arms around her stomach and resting my head on her chest.

I wiggled my nose around, shaking my head from side to side slowly as I tried to figure out what exactly I was smelling. As much as I hated to, I opened my eyes after a few seconds and lifted my head up, looking around. Billie wasn't in her bed anymore and her door was wide open, so I slowly crawled off and walked out. I walked to the kitchen and poked my head in, noticing that Finneas, Denny, and Billie were all in there, bickering.

"I don't give a fuck about any of that, the Beatles were nothing compared to queen." Finneas crossed his arms over his chest as he leaned back in his seat.

Denver rolled his eyes and threw his head in his hands, acting as dramatic as ever. "I can't believe I've been friends with someone with this thought process this whole time. God, I've strayed from the path you set for me."

"You're both idiots. The Rolling Stones—" both boys groaned loudly, cutting Billie off. She huffed and looked in my direction, catching me off guard. "Hey, peeping Tom, come contribute to the conversation. Which one is the best?"

I walked into the kitchen shyly. I'm sure I look a mess having just woken up after spending most of my morning battling a hangover, and this is my first time being around Finneas so I didn't want him judging me based on this. Plus, I wonder if my brother and him think it's weird that I was sleeping in Billie's room? What if they'd seen us sleeping together? Is that weird?

"I'm a Fleetwood Mack type of bitch."

"You're out of the conversation." Finneas pointed his finger at me before turning to Denver again.

Billie came to stand next to me and handed me a plate of fruit. "I made us some burritos but I heard you apparently don't like those? We're gonna have to have a serious discussion about that later. Anyways, Denver told me your favorite fruits so...here."

"I do like burritos. But thanks!" I grinned before picking up a pineapple chunk and plopping it in my mouth. Billie raised her brows and looked toward my brother who was shoving half a burrito into his mouth and staring at us, looking guilty.

"Sorry." He muffled out.

I rolled my eyes and flipped him off before sitting at the kitchen table. Billie sat next to me after slapping the back of Denver's neck. She pushed some of my hair behind my shoulder and smiled at me as she took a sip of her water. "How'd you sleep?"

"Your bed is comfortable as shit. It's like...a fucking rainbow cloud."

"Feel free to come back and sleep on it any time." She laughed. I looked back to see if my brother or Finneas heard, but they were still arguing about bands.

"I might have to take you up on that offer," I mumbled, winking. I don't think I even know how to wink so I'm hoping that didn't look too awkward. Probably not. I think I literally just blinked. "So, you said something else happened at the party?" I cut right to the chase.

She sighed and leaned back in her seat. "You and Kai did it." She nearly whispered.

I hummed. I didn't even remember that. I don't remember seeing her at all honestly. I must've been really out of it.

"Is that it?" I asked. Billie looked at me, her eyes narrowing as she shook her head and then stood up abruptly. "Yep." She mumbled before storming off.

I tilted my head as I watched her disappear, probably to go back into her room. What did I say? Why was she upset?

I shrugged to myself, figuring I'd give her some time. I put a strawberry in my mouth and groaned as the flavor cascaded around on my tongue. God, I fucking love strawberries.

"She good?" I heard Finneas ask.

"It is." I mumbled, chewing as slowly as I could possibly chew. I eat strawberries all the time and yet I never get used to how fucking amazing they are. These were really sweet too!

"No, I mean Billie. Is she good?"

"Oh," I laughed nervously. Fin probably thought I was an idiot. "Yeah, she's good."
