Don't Hug Me I'm Scared {Billie Eilish}

Dahlia's POV

************

"I was thinking we could meet up later this week? Maybe Wednesday?" She asked, pushing my hair over my shoulder.

I blushed before sending her a small smile. "And do what exactly?"

"Depends on whether or not your siblings are home, baby."

"And why can't we go to your house?" I raised a brow and she shot me a look. "My brother's the biggest cock block on the planet."

"I'll see what's going on on Wednesday." I nodded at her. She grinned before bopping my nose and leaning back in her seat.

Kai and I hadn't done anything since the last week of summer, so naturally, we were both incredibly ready to break that streak. Wednesday would definitely be the day.

"How much longer are we gonna be doing book work? When do we start actually cooking?" Jacob asked rudely, grabbing Mrs. East's attention. She sighed and narrowed her eyes at him before walking toward our table. "You can start cooking when you can learn how to properly season food," I smirked as the African American woman in front of me stared down at the whitest white boy in America. "I don't expect it to be any time soon."

She walked away and back to her desk before speaking again. "The rest of us will start cooking in about two weeks. It's mandatory that we do this book work, though, and then take a little test to make sure you all know your knives from your spoons and all that good stuff. I know its boring right now, but it'll get to be more fun after a while."

"Are we gonna get to do all that shit I heard about, you know? With the babies and the wedding planning and all that stuff?" Caden questioned. Mrs. East rolled her eyes at him and warned him about his language before nodding.

"First half of the school year is cooking, second half is doing all that shi—Stuff."

"We get to pretend to be married to someone too?" Kai asked quickly.

"Yep, that'll be one of your first projects. Second, actually, behind the wedding planning."

Kai smirked before leaning toward me and trailing her finger along my jawline. "Great. Another excuse for us to play house."

"Are we allowed to fucking, damn near have sex in here or what?" I heard Billie's harsh mumble before she was quickly shh'd by Cadence and a few other people near her.

I spent the entirety of class trying to focus on doing my work and desperately failing. Between constantly having to pry Kai's fingers off of my thigh and constantly looking back at Caden who kept texting me random shit and then making eye contact with an either smug or very very upset looking Billie, I couldn't get a damn thing done.

"Stop it," I giggled quietly as I swatted at Kai's hands. I was finally on my third sentence when she distracted me again. Before she could respond, the bell was ringing. "See you in English." She winked and twirled her hair around her finger before walking off, her hips swinging from side to side. I laughed quietly as she turned around to send me a goofy look and blow me a kiss.

"You suck at keeping the whole 'I'm gay' thing a secret." Billie popped up out of nowhere once again and I almost wasn't even shocked.

"I do not." I shook my head as I gathered all my stuff and started walking with her to the lunch room.

"I spent that entire hour watching her caress your thigh. Sooner or later people are gonna catch on."

She wasn't wrong. Me and Kai really needed to chill with the excessive PDA before people started asking questions that I wasn't ready to answer.

"She's just..." I stopped myself mid-sentence, not sure if that's something I wanted to say to Billie. I shrugged to myself before continuing. Billie's always open and honest about what's on her mind. She says what she wants and doesn't give a fuck about it. I need to try that out. "She's just horny as shit. We haven't done anything in a while...I'm gonna take care of it this Wednesday."

Was I oversharing? Was that too bold? Billie's silence made me question whether or not I should've gone through with saying that to her.

"I'm horny as shit too." I heard her mumble before she picked up the pace and speed walked through the cafeteria doors.

I was silent, thinking about what she said as I walked to my table. She was already propped up on top of hers, though she wasn't talking to the people that were trying to start a conversation with her. She leaned back and let all her weight rest on her arms as she stared at me blankly. I sat down in my usual spot next to Caden.

"Fucking spaghetti, bro. This shit is like...fucking Gordon Ramsay could never! Can you believe this?! We been in school three weeks and there hasn't been one bad lunch! You know what I heard? We're having chicken Alfredo tomorrow!"

I only half listened to him ramble as I pulled out a fruit cup and a granola bar and tried to stop staring at Billie, but I couldn't.

"Stop acting like we don't feed you at home, Cade. We always make sure to give you our table scraps and you know that." Cadence rolled her eyes as she sat across from us, half blocking Billie's face. "When are you two gonna fuck?"

"She's gay." He shook his head as he nudged me. I shh'd him and looked around quickly before furrowing my brows. "He's right." I whispered.

"Not you two, you idiots." Cadence rested her palm on her forehead. "I mean you and little miss Becky with the blue hair over there."

"She's not into me, she's into Dahlia," Caden stated before shoving some more spaghetti in his mouth. Cadence groaned and threw her hands up. "The quicker you realize you're not in this conversation the better. Seriously, dude."

"I'm fucking Kai this Wednesday." Is how I responded to that.

"Well I'm sure you can fit Billie in on Thursday," Cadence grumbled sarcastically, her annoyance clear in her voice. "Or should we schedule her for Friday? You know, so you have time to rest."

"Look, I can't deny the fact that she's been flirting with me, but I don't know, I don't think she actually wants me. She seems really open and...blunt. She says whatever the fuck whenever the fuck, and if she really wanted me she would've said it by now, definitely."

"So you think she's throwing temper tantrums every time she sees you and Kai so much as glance in each other's general direction because..." she drew the last word out as she leaned forward and stared at me.

"Throwing tantrums is fun?" I answered sweetly.

"Billie seems tough, but I think maybe she's scared to tell you she likes you. I mean, I know literally nothing about the situation, but—"

"That is very true, you do not." I agreed.

"But," he continued, glaring at me. "One time I was with this fucking biker chick. Tattoos, piercings, purple bob cut. I thought she was gonna wanna use whips or strapons on me or something. She was clearly into me, and pretty damn tough, but she was too shy to ask me out."

I stared at Caden for a second before shrugging my shoulders. "Sounds fake, but okay."

"Boy, do I wish it was." Cadence sighed. "I heard more than I needed to hear when he got with her."

"So...Did She actually use a strap on?"

"I'm a delicate man, D. My asshole might just be the most delicate part of me. Of course she didn't."

***

"I don't get this shit," Billie sighed as she threw her pencil down. Mr. Bolton shh'd her before writing on the board again.

"Math isn't my best subject either...None of them are."

"We should study together one day." She suggested. I nodded quickly, grinning. "I don't think I'll be any help at all, but that'd be cool."

"Wanna do it this week?"

We don't have all that much to study yet. What we're doing right now is pretty difficult but also probably the easiest thing we'll be doing in here all year. I think with a quick google search and a ten-minute study session I'd be able to understand what we're doing, but any excuse to hang out with Billie is a great one.

"Come over anytime."

"I will." She smiled.
