Don't Hug Me I'm Scared {Billie Eilish}
Dahlia's outfit:
Dahlia's POV
**************
"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh myâ" I chanted as I ran down the stairs, almost tripping as my heels slid around on my feet. "Dad?! Daddy? Dad! Are you wearing the tie I picked out for you?!" I questioned breathlessly as I ran across the living room and into the kitchen, yanking at my skirt.
"Yes, bunny." He muttered and although he wasn't facing me I could tell he'd rolled his eyes. I put my hands on my hips and let out a huff. "Don't catch an attitude withâWhat happened to your bun?!" I hastily walked over to him and gestured for him to take a seat at the table so that I could redo his bun.
"I love you so much, Dahlia, but you've never been more annoying in your life." He sighed as he picked up his cellphone. "I'm tender headed!" He whined as I snatched the elastic band out of his hair.
"If you'd gotten a haircut like I suggested we wouldn't be going through this." I grumbled.
"Not every thirty-nine-year-old man can have long, beautiful hair." He smirked. I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, and it's even more impressive that you're a forty year old with long, beautiful hair."
He sighed and shook his head, causing me to let out a long groan as I messed up his hair. "You made all that nasty ass vegan shit for Billie, right? Did you make sure it was all gluten-free? Do you think she'll like it?"
"I think she's gonna love it! I made six vegan, gluten-free dishes." He grinned proudly. I sighed in relief. "Thanks so much, dad. You're the best!"
"I know."
I was about to say something else, but Denver rushed into the kitchen and cut me off. "Dad, Julia's gonna be here a little later! You made sure not to put any peanuts in anything, right? Her face puffs up and her throat closesâ"
"No peanuts in anything, I promise." Dad chuckled. I rolled my eyes as Denver yelled out a quick 'thanks' and then ran back out. "Did you really have to say yes to her coming over?"
"I'm letting you have the twins, your girlfriend and her whole family over. It was only fair."
"Yeah, but Julia sucks." I whined.
"I know Julia sucks, but your brother likes her for some reason." He laughed. "I think if you gave her a chance you'd like her. Sure, she's annoying, but...Well, all I really know about her is that she's annoying."
Annoying indeed. I'm gonna have to pretend to like her tonight, though. How are Denny and Finneas ever supposed to spend time with one another if she's clinging to Denny all night? I'm gonna have to distract her. That's part of the reason I invited the twins over. That and Caden had demanded to get invited because my dad always makes a little bit of seafood on Thanksgiving and that's Caden's favorite. Their parents are out of town anyway. I feel bad that they don't get to spend that much time with their parents, but at least they can always come be with my family.
"All done!" I grinned as I finished his bun. "Don't mess it up! I'm gonna go check on Cora and make sure she's ready." I kissed his cheek before running out of the kitchen and up the stairs. I knocked on Cora's door quickly and busted in before I got a reply. She was on her bed, typing away on her phone and giggling, not ready at all.
"Bro, what the fuck?!" I hissed. "You need to be getting ready! You know you take forever! Have you even decided what to wear yet?!"
"We went over this a couple days ago, remember, dumb-dumb?" She rolled her eyes and sat up. "I'm gonna match you. You know, since this is the one time you actually picked out a good outfit."
I thought about a moment and then nodded as I remembered we did already go over this. "You still need to get ready though! They're gonna be here inâ"
"Two hours." She glared and gestured for me to get out. I stayed in my spot.
"Seriously, I'll start getting ready in a few minutes! Let me finish talking to Matthew." She huffed. I smirked and leaned against the wall. "You two have been talking for a while now...Is he your boyfriend?"
She shook her head and sighed. "I like him and he likes me, but we're not dating because there's someone else I like too and I can't choose which one I wanna be with."
Damn, I wish I'd had these kinds of problems when I was her age. Instead, I was stuck choosing between no one and absolutely no one.
"Oh? Who's the other guy?" I asked curiously.
"It's a girl. Her names Liza." She grinned, I gasped and jumped up and down, clapping excitedly before diving toward her bed. "You like dudes and girls?!"
"Yeah, I'm bi. You like girls and Denver clearly likes guys no matter how much he says he doesn't, so I was thinking about it one night and I was like...hmm. I can't choose which I prefer so I guess I like both." She shrugged.
I grinned and gave her a side hug and a large kiss on the cheek. See, if Cora can come out and say it, why can't Denver?
"I'm proud of you, kid!" I ruffled her hair before standing up. "Yeah, Yeah. Get out." She demanded.
I did as told this time, yelling for her to get ready within the next few minutes before slamming her door shut again. I ran down the stairs and looked around the living room. I'd cleaned it and the rest of the house as if my life depended on it earlier, but it still didn't seem clean enough. I really wanna impress Billie's parents, and Finneas too because he hasn't been over here yet. I know she said they didn't want anything fancy, but I'm still self-conscious. These are some rich ass people I'm dealing with! I don't wanna disappoint them with my brokeness.
I guess I'll just fluff the pillows again and hope they don't smell how poor we are.

"That fucking hurts, Cadence!" Cora slapped her hands away as she tried to help with the belt around Cora's waist that kept coming undone. I'd offered Cora one of my own belts, but the one she's wearing is her favorite and she refuses to wear another one.
"Your shorts are gonna slip down your ass if you don't wear a proper belt." I reminded her for the fourth time. She let out a loud sigh as she yanked the belt out of the loops of her plaid shorts and threw it down before storming toward my closet. I hurriedly picked it up and put it in my drawer, not wanting anything to look out of place in my room. Speaking of which, I'd made sure to help Denver clean his room as well.
"Julia doesn't give a fuck how my room looks," he'd told me. "We don't look at anything but the bed sheets when we're in here anyway." He smirked. Little did he know, little Ms. Thotianna wouldn't be stepping foot in his room tonight.
"This one will do," Cora mumbled as she slid a belt that looked similar to her's on. I nodded my head in agreement as I went to help her tuck her shirt back in properly. "I don't understand why I have to look good anyway. It's not like I have anyone coming over." She grumbled.
"You've never complained about dressing up before, don't start now," I told her sternly. "We told you to invite your little boyfriend, but no, you wanted to be difficult andâ"
"Oh, shut up!" She spat. "He wouldn't have shown up even if I invited him. He probably doesn't even wanna spend Thanksgiving with me."
"You don't know that," I told her softly. "I'm sure he would've loved to if his family would let him. You'll know to ask next time." I smiled, patting her shoulder.
"Dahlia, when the fuck are they getting here?! I'm hungry and your dad's been watching me like a hawk. I haven't been able to get my hands on even just one damn shrimp!" Caden burst into the room, yelling. I furrowed my brows as I saw him wearing a maroon turtle neck and plaid pants that matched Cora and I's outfits.
"Howâwhyâ"
"You told me what you were gonna wear on Monday and since Cadence didn't wanna match with me..." He shrugged. I snickered as she shook her head at him. "I would've gladly matched with you if you'd just agreed to wear the pink silk pants I bought you last Christmas." She's wearing a white turtle neck and a silk, pink skirt. I curled my lips and nodded to myself. Her outfit is really nice and I think he really would've looked good in those.
"For the last time, pink is not my color. It doesn't compliment my eyes or my skin tone."
"We have the same exact eye color and skin tone, so what the fuck are you trying to say?" She growled.
"IâI...Uhâ" The doorbell saved him from having to say anything. I gasped and shoved Cora out of the way before pushing my way past Caden and running out of my room. I heard the twins' and Cora's loud footsteps pounding behind me not long after I took off, and I practically tumbled down the stairs as Caden bumped into me.
"Hurry the fuck up! If they're here that means we eat soon!" He shoved me into the wall and pushed past me. I groaned as Cora and Cadence ran past without even checking on me, both excited to see Billie's family.
I dusted myself off and tried to look like I didn't just face plant the wall as I walked calmly toward the door. My dad had already answered it and invited everyone in by the time I got over there.
I stood next to Cora and smiled politely at Maggie, Patrick, and Finneas, giving them all hugs as they walked in. My smile got larger as Billie came in, looking adorable in her black turtle neck and tan colored pants. Her clothes aren't as baggie as usual and she doesn't have all her chains on, which is a weird but beautiful sight.
I wonder why everybody decided to wear a turtleneck tonight? Is Thanksgiving the official turtleneck day? If it's not, it should be.
"Hi, baby!" I grinned as I stepped closer to her and gave her a quick peck on the lips. She grinned as she looked at me and then Cora.
"Well, well, well! Look at my beautiful twin babies!" She squished each of our cheeks before pulling us in for a hug. "You're the hot twin, of course, Dahlia doll."
"Gee, Thanks," Cora mumbled sarcastically. Billie grinned as she pulled away from us. "Well, I can't call my girlfriend's little sister hot."
"You didn't have to diss a bitch like that either, though." Cora joked before slapping Billie's shoulder and then walking away.
Billie turned and saw Caden matching us and raised her brows. I laughed and shook my head as she said 'Well, I'll be damned, they're triplets.'
I was about to start back talking, but I realized that there was another person standing there, looking shy.
Billie followed my eyes and looked at the girl before looking back at me. "Oh, this is Claudia! She's Fin's girlfriend."
"That she is!" Fin reappeared, wrapping his arms around the girl who let out a small laugh and waved at me. "I hope you guys don't mind. I didn't wanna spend Thanksgiving away from her!"
She's really fucking pretty, adorable honestly, and I can already tell she's really sweet just by the way she's acting. Hard to hate a nice girl, but I'll try my best.
"No, it's fine!" I put on my best smile. "I'm Dahlia."
"Claudia! As Billie already said..." She giggled and looked down. "Thank you so much for letting me come here!"
I sighed a little as I realized just how hard it really is to hate a nice girl. "It's no problem, really." I tried not to sound too deflated.
"Where's Denny? Still upstairs?" Fin asked curiously. I grinned like a Cheshire Cat. I'm glad Fin still cares enough to ask about Denny.
"Yep, he's in his bedroom! Feel free to go on up there. Don't rush to come back down either, I'm sure my dad's not done cooking just yet. I'll let you know when we're about to eat!" I rushed out. He nodded and kissed Claudia on the cheek before heading toward the stairs. I have made sure to give him the directions to Denny's room. Billie sent me a look and I shrugged innocently.
There was another knock on the door and I sighed before answering it, already knowing who it was.
"Hello, Dahlia!" Julia kissed my cheeks and I wiped them off as soon as she did. I looked her over and rolled my eyes as I saw her short dress. "Where's my Den bear?"
"Upstairs in his room withâ"
"Oh, I'm gonna go up and see him!" She rushed inside the house and I hurriedly closed the door before grabbing her arm. "N-No! Ugh, I was thinking...You've been with my brother for a while and I feel like we barely know each other! You seem like a...great...girl, so why don't we hang out for a bit tonight? You too Claudia, I'd love to get to know you! Us girls can all just hang in my room, okay?" I begged them both with my eyes and looked at Billie, hoping she'd help me.
She sent me another look, knowing what I was up to, but I gave her the puppy dog eyes and she sighed before putting on a smile. "Sounds like fun!"
"Okay." They both agreed. I grinned before leading them up to my room.
