Don't Hug Me I'm Scared {Billie Eilish}

Dahlia's POV

*************

"Day two of Cabinchella." Billie clapped her hands loudly as she paced the room where we were all gathered. "Later tonight we have our movie night, of course, but what are we gonna do before that?"

"I vote we have a snowball fight." Hudson grinned. I nodded in agreement. Sounds miserable, but also sounds like fun.

"All in favor of that?" Most of us raised our hands and Billie wrote it on the whiteboard. "Maybe we can do that around 1 pm?" She asked. We all agreed and she wrote the time next to it. "What else?"

"Ice hockey!" Gigi called out, his adorable accent making Cadence and I coo. Billie narrowed her eyes at me and I shrugged my shoulders.

"I'm sure we'll be done with the snowball fight by 3. Ice hockey at 3:30?" She asked. Everyone agreed. "Alright, one more thing?"

"Uhm..." Kai's quiet voice broke the silence as everybody thought of what to do. Billie glared at her and she got quiet again. "Nevermind." She whispered.

I whisper yelled for Billie to knock it off before sliding closer to Kai. "What were you gonna say?" I smiled.

"Maybe a campfire would be nice?" She asked nervously. "I just thought it'd be cool. We could have s'mores and stuff."

"I love that idea!" I grinned. "We'll probably be done with hockey by like seven or eight. We can come and sit around the fire for a few hours before movie night. It'll be fun!"

"Fine," Billie mumbled as she wrote it on the board. "We can all meet here in a couple hours. 12:45 sound good?"

Everyone agreed and we all stood up as we got ready to head to our own rooms. I grabbed Billie's hand and pulled her out of the den and up the stairs, both of us silent the entire time we were headed to our room. The moment we got in there, I turned to her and placed my hands on my hips.

"Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell."

She groaned and rolled her eyes as she plopped down on the bed, already well aware of what I was about to say to her.

"Stop being mean to that girl. You've got her fucking shaking and scared to say anything."

"Good," Billie grinned. "Come here." She opened up her arms and I sighed before going over to sit on her lap and bury my head in the crook of her neck. She smells so fucking good all the time, I could just die.

"You're going to have to stop bullying her one day, you know?" I mumbled.

"It won't be today."

"Ow!" I screamed as my dad laughed loudly with Josephine. Both of them had thrown snowballs at me at the same time, full force. It's like they were trying to kill me!

I quickly gathered some snow and threw a ball full force at my dad, but he didn't even back up because he knew I'd miss. My throw is so damn weak the ball didn't even make it halfway, and he's not even that far away from me. "Maybe next time, sweetie." Josephine taunted.

"I hate to say it, but my daughter is a real loser." Dad chuckled before jogging away to throw a ball at Cora.

"Aren't they adorable?" Cadence breathed out. I rolled my eyes as I picked up more snow and looked around to see who I could throw it at. Nobody was close except for Cadence, so I shrugged my shoulders and threw it at her face. She gasped.

"You bitch!"

I ran away to avoid her retaliation, giggling as I looked back at her, watching as she struggled to make a snowball. I ended up bumping into someone and landing straight on my ass once I did. I looked up and saw Luna standing there, a large smirk on her face.

"Sorry." I groaned.

"You will be." She said, her voice low and her smug face turning serious for a few seconds. I tilted my head at her, about to ask what she meant by that, when I was slapped in the face with a huge snowball. I groaned as I heard her running away, laughing like a maniac.

"Eat shit!" I called after her, laughing as I stood up and wiped my face. I ran to hide behind a tree somewhat far away from everyone else, in desperate need of a break. I suck at snowball fights, apparently, and there's not a person here who hasn't managed to hit me at least once. I'm about to freeze my ass off if I'm honest, but I'm having a lot of fun.

I poked my head out from behind my tree after a few moments, and the moment I did I was hit in the face by yet another snowball.

"Sorry," Jaylen smirked before turning around. She didn't run away, so I took the opportunity to make another snowball and creep up as close behind her as I could before throwing it at the back of her head. I heard her gasp and start cursing as I ran away and headed back to the area where everyone else was.

"This is the most fun I've had in a while!" Caden coughed before collapsing onto the ground. "I haven't had this much exercise in months."

"That's kinda sad considering you're on the football team." I laughed, kicking him softly and then kicking some snow over him. After a few moments, I decided that it was a good idea to just bury him in the snow entirely. Liza and Ken noticed and came over to help after a few minutes, and Caden giggled girlishly as the snow slid down his neck and into his jacket occasionally.

"Oh my gosh, guys, look what I've got!" Cadence came running toward us after a while.

"Tuberculosis?" I asked. I don't know why that's always my go-to guess, but it is.

"No, icicles!" She exclaimed as she handed one to each of us. We groaned as Caden got up, undoing all our hard work, and took one before sticking it in his mouth.

"Oh my god, dude, that's gross! Someone could've pissed on that!" Liza laughed.

"Doesn't taste like piss." He stated before taking a bite. I cringed at the loud sound and placed my arm around Ken's hip. "How can you even stand him?"

"He's really, really cute sometimes." She sighed.

"That's a penalty foul thing! He pushed me!" Kai whined as she skated away from Denver. I laughed loudly. "That's kinda the point!"

"Yeah, and if there isn't a hockey fight then what's the point of watching, am I right?" Cora asked before hitting Julia's legs with her hockey stick. I snickered as she tripped Julia up and then skated away.

"Look at them!" Billie pointed toward Fin and Denny who were actually trying to get the puck into the net, both laughing loudly as they kept accidentally pushing it in the wrong direction. I smiled softly as I watched them. I'm glad they're still friends. I know how scared Denver must've been when he noticed Fin standing there listening to us that night. He probably thought he and Fin wouldn't be friends anymore. I'm glad Fin is still treating him normally.

I wish Fin liked Denver back, but he obviously doesn't. I guess Denver will get over it eventually, but it still sucks.

I wish Denny and I could go back to normal since Finneas isn't upset with him for having a crush, but I don't see that happening. Denver and I are both too stubborn to apologize. Besides, I don't wanna go back to normal with him if he's still giving mom the time of day anyway. That woman is evil. She put us all through hell, and she'll never support me because I'm gay. How could he still even want her in his life after seeing the way she's treated me? How could he do that to me?

I get that she's his mom too, but still. If the roles were reversed and I still had a chance at having a relationship with her and he didn't because he was openly gay, I wouldn't dare talk to her. I wouldn't do that to him.

He's supposed to support me. I'm his sister and all I've ever done was support him no matter what, but he wants to deny he's gay so he can impress that bitch? He cares more about what she thinks than what makes him happy?

Why wouldn't he wanna cut her out of his life after all the shit she's done? That's what I don't get. I just can't wrap my head around it. I was so fucking happy when she left and I thank whatever god there is every single day that I don't have to wake up and deal with her shit every day anymore. I don't know what I'd do if I still had to live with her. I think I'd rather kill myself.

"Baby?" Billie mumbled softly, grabbing my glove covered hand. "You two will be okay, you know? One of you is going to crack and apologize. Maybe...Maybe it should be you?"

"He doesn't care about me, Billie." I whispered, my throat closing as I felt tears building up in my eyes. I sighed. Why the hell had I sat here and allowed myself to think about all this shit? It's been a good day so far and it's gonna keep being a good day. I'm not gonna think about any of that shit until after Christmas at least, and by then I'll probably have already forgotten about it. Hopefully.

"He does care, and you know it."

"He cares about Valerie." I huffed. "Not me. Wanna go join in on the game?" I stood up quickly and held my hand out for her. She sighed and took it, standing up slowly.

"Me kicking your ass at Ice hockey isn't going to help you feel any better." She smirked.

"You don't even know how to skate."

"You can hate Kai all you want, but you've gotta admit that this was a bomb idea." I grinned as I shoved a s'more cookie in her mouth. My dad baked her some that she could eat while the rest of us ate our regular s'mores.

"It's aight." She muffled out before kicking Finneas' foot. "Knock it off."

He was sitting beside her wiggling his toes against her leg, trying to make her think there was a bug on her or something.

"You're getting toe crust all over my pants." She grumbled.

I laughed at them as they argued with one another about who had the stinkiest toes. I ran out of s'mores to eat, so I walked back to the table we'd set up a few feet away from the fire and began putting some more on my plate. My diet is nonexistent on this trip, I guess.

One of these days I'm going to stick to it, I swear.

"Hey, Dahlia."

I looked back and saw Luna walking up to me. I smiled and waved before turning back to my s'mores. "Are you enjoying the trip so far?" I asked.

"Yeah! It's really fun, honestly. I'm really glad that you allowed me to come. Thank you."

I snorted and shook my head. "I didn't really allow you to come. Bea invited you—"

"Billie called to yell at me for like forty-five minutes after Bea asked if she could bring me. The only reason I'm here right now is because you're an absolute sweetheart. Thank you." She laughed. I shrugged. "You're welcome."

"I'm really sorry about everything, by the way. Calling Billie, asking her to get back with me at the dance—"

"The dance?" I raised my brows. Billie hadn't mentioned anything happening at the dance. She'd spent the whole time avoiding Luna anyway. When could anything have possibly happened between them?

"Yeah, I was trying to get Billie to be with me again there too. She decided to stay with you, obviously." She giggled. Decided to stay with me? Was she like...Actually thinking about Luna's offer to be with her?

I'm overthinking. It's just the way Luna worded it, it doesn't mean anything.

"You don't still want her, do you?" I asked quietly. She shook her head. "Billie's really lucky to have you and I see that now. I definitely don't want her anymore. I know that's crazy considering just a few weeks ago I was begging for her to come back to me..." She let out a small breath. "Things change pretty quickly sometimes I guess. I've got my eye on someone else." She grinned as she looked back toward Bea. "She doesn't like me the way I like her, though."

I furrowed my brows. "Dude, What? No, she really likes you!"

She simply shrugged her shoulders and turned to look at me again. I smiled and patted her shoulder. "Everything will work out the way you want it to, in the end, I'm sure."

She nodded and smiled at me. "Yeah, I'm sure too."
