Don't Hug Me I'm Scared {Billie Eilish}

A/N: Pretty long chapter ;)

Dahlia's POV

************

Day 5 of cabinchella. A crazy one.

"I fucking saw it, dude, I swear on my life! It was really late last night, probably around 3 or 4 in the morning, and I came down for a glass of water and since I was feeling a bit better than I was earlier, a cookie or...ten." Caden whisper yelled. "And I saw them! They were in the kitchen right by the sink just talking. I was about to walk in and make my presence known when they started to get a little closer to each other, and then all of a sudden she was touching his chest, and then his hand was resting on the small of her back, and then boom! They were kissing. It was slow at first, but it was right around the time that I decided to go back to my room and give them some privacy that it picked up the pace. I don't know for sure what happened after that, but all I'm saying is, there's a good ass chance they fucked!"

"Okay, that's so great! I mean, like, minus the fucking part. That truly is disgusting. But, like, this is what we wanted! It's fucking happening!" Cadence jumped up and down and let out a few squeals, Caden immediately shushing her after.

"Yeah, this is really amazing, but did you have to pull us into this closet just to tell us that?" I giggled. Caden shrugged and opened the door, letting us walk out.

"Caden, why were you in the closet with my girlfriend?" Billie questioned. She'd been walking by when the door opened.

"When you marry Dahlia, Aunt Josephine is gonna be your stepmother in law, that's why." He grinned.

"That was a really weird sentence altogether, honestly." She told him before grabbing my hand and pulling me along with her. "Baby, I got you something and I don't know if you're gonna like it."

"Are you gonna show it to me now?!" I gasped.

"No, no, no. You have to wait until the night before Christmas eve just like everyone else." She chuckled.

"Then where are you taking me?"

"Your dad asked if I could get you and bring you to the back porch. He said something about having to talk to you and your siblings about something important, and I'm guessing he's gonna talk about the fact that Aunt Josephine is one step closer to being my aunt stepmother in law or whatever the hell Caden called her." She explained.

"What the hell are you doing out of bed?" I asked after a moment of thinking. "You're supposed to still be in your pajamas, wrapped up in blankets, eating the soup I made you!"

"You were gone too long and I decided I needed to come find you. I'm sick of that stupid ass bed already. Besides, I feel a lot better already. I don't think this cold will last that long."

"Look, I'm gonna talk to my dad, and you're gonna go up to our room and lay down until I get done. You should not be up right now, and you definitely shouldn't be outside."

"But, mom!" She whined sarcastically. I rolled my eyes and pushed her backward as I got to the back door. "Go." I ordered before sliding out of the house and onto the porch.

Cora and Denny were already sitting. I found a chair and sat down as I watched my dad pace back and forth.

"Ugh—So, listen. I feel really weird about this and I understand if you kids don't like this. If you don't I'll just—I'll stop everything." He started rambling after a few moments. "It's just that...Since we've been here, you know, I've been um...I've found...Well, I've noticed that—"

"Daddy, Liza's waiting for me," Cora whined. "We know you like Josephine. Cadence and Dahlia planned this whole thing so you guys could spend time together."

"What?" He screeched, looking at me. I shrugged nonchalantly while sending a glare to Cora. Big mouth bitch.

"Well, I noticed you guys liked each other when she was interviewing me and I just thought...You know. Why not try to get you two kids together?" I grinned.

"So...You guys don't mind if we see each other? I wanna take her on a date, but I just thought that maybe...I don't know, I just thought it'd be weird for you."

"Not at all, dad. We just wanna see you happy." Denver smiled as he stood up. "Was that all you wanted to talk about, though? Josie's cooking some fancy ass pasta or something and I don't want Caden to eat it all before I get the chance to taste any."

"That was all," My dad nodded, looking shocked. "Wow, that went so much smoother than I thought it would."

"Were you expecting us all to throw tantrums and beg you to stay single forever?" I laughed. "We've been wanting you to move on from mom since even before you guys got divorced."

"Well, I guess I was just thinking you guys would act like I did when my parents got a divorce. I hated every guy my mom brought around, no matter how nice he was. I didn't want any step parents and I didn't want them to move on from each other, ever. I just thought you guys would feel the same."

"You thought wrong, old man," I smirked, patting his shoulder. "So, you really like her, huh? You must. She's the first woman you've actually told us about and asked for our approval of since the divorce. And we all know there have been other women." I wiggled my brows at him and he blushed, letting out a long sigh as he plopped down in one of the chairs across from the one I'd previously been sitting on. I took a seat once again and stared at him, waiting for his response.

"She's really charming, you know? Very pretty..." He smiled softly. "We won't move too fast, but I really do like her."

"That's good. Feel free to move as fast as you want, though. We don't mind and honestly, the sooner me and the twins become step cousins the better." I winked. "So, tell me all the details. How'd you know you really really liked her and what are you planning for your date?"

***

"It's been twenty-five years, literally where have you been?" Billie whined as soon as I opened the door. I laughed and shook my head at her as I nearly ran over to the bed and plopped down beside her. "Talking to my dad about his massive crush on Josephine. He's taking her on a little date tomorrow. They're going sightseeing."

"Sightseeing?" Billie crinkled her nose. I nodded. "Old people shit, you know? But Josephine seems to be really excited, so I'm guessing they'll have a great time."

"What do you think our first date should be?" She smiled. I was caught off-guard by the question. We've known each other for five months now and we've been dating for three of those months. How have we not been on a first date yet?

Wait...She actually wants to go on a date with me? Wow, okay.

A date with Billie Eilish. I can't even--

She's so fucking pretty and charming and funny and sweet and I get to go on a date with her? What the fuck?

I mean, maybe I should've freaked out over this a long time ago. She's literally my girlfriend so I should be used to her, but I still think she's a magical unicorn. I don't think I've ever met someone so...Billie...In my life.

Wow, she's actually my girlfriend.

How the fuck had this happened?

There's been so much fucking bullshit going on in my life lately that I've kinda brushed past the fact that Billie is my actual, whole ass girlfriend. My adorable, badass, sometimes cuddly and sometimes psychotic girlfriend. Wow.

"You look like you're about to have a stroke. You good?"

I shook my head quickly and focused on her face again. I smiled and nodded, clearing my throat before I spoke. "It's just that you just asked me on a date and it made me think about how I didn't even realize you were like...My girlfriend."

"I know you said you were a slow learner, but damn bitch, this is ridiculous."

"Shut the fuck up, you trick ass bitch." I rolled my eyes. "Yes, I'd love to go on a date with you."

"Well, I know that. Anyone would," She smirked. "That wasn't the question. The question was, what do you think our first date should be? Should we go skinny dipping? Should we go to a strip club? Should we be basic and go out on a dinner date?"

"Why can't we eat dinner and then go skinny dipping in a strip club?" I tilted my head. She narrowed her eyes at me and I held my hands up in defense. "I don't know, Bil. I never really thought of it before. What's your dream date?"

"I don't know. I never cared about dates before I was with you..." She looked down and blushed and I smirked, leaning over to pinch her cheeks. "I don't know, I'll plan something special for us soon."

"No," I shook my head. "Let me plan our date. You always do shit for me. You're like...The man in the relationship. I wanna do this for you."

"There is no man in this relationship. It's all titties in here. That's the point." She furrowed her brows. I rolled my eyes, despite mentally agreeing with her. That's what I'd said to Cadence a few weeks ago.

"Whatever, dude. Let me do something special for you for once." I gave her the puppy dog eyes.

She thought about it for a few moments and then nodded, a large smiling coming onto her face. "Fine. I think it's cute you wanna plan something for us...I want that to be my birthday gift."

"Bitch, what?"

"I want that to be my birthday gift." She repeated. "I don't want an actual gift, I just want our date to be my gift. Think you could plan one in four days?"

"Definitely." I grinned.

"Where are you going?" She whined as I climbed off the bed. I ran over to my still not unpacked suitcase and began rummaging through my clothes, trying to find something decent to wear. "Well, If I'm gonna plan a super special, super magical date in just four days I need to get right on it. I'm gonna send a message to the group chat and see who'd be willing to drive around town with me."

"Stay," She drawled, holding her arms out for me. "Why the hell do you need to drive around town just to plan a date?"

"I need to see what all there is to do, dumbass. We can't just have our date in this room."

"Yes, we fucking could. Where else am I gonna get my birthday sex? Seriously, where else? Cause I'm down for wherever I--"

"Go to sleep, Billie." I mumbled as I typed quickly on my phone. After I'd sent the message, I walked into the bathroom. "I'm going to take a shower. You better be out like a light when I get out! You haven't taken your nap today."

"But, mom!" She growled.

***

Billie was, to my surprise, actually fast asleep when I finished with my shower. She could argue with me all she wanted, but I knew I was right about her needing her rest! After getting dressed in some comfortable, warm clothes, I ran downstairs and into the living room to see who all was going with me. I raised my brows when I saw only Luna and Hudson standing there.

"No one else wanted to come?" I questioned. They shook their heads. "Sorry, D. Everyone else was either too busy or too lazy." Hudson smiled.

"Well, that's fine! I'm sure the three of us can plan something amazing."

We all grabbed our stuff and headed out the door. We decided to take Luna's car, and once we were all buckled in she pulled out of the driveway.

"So, Hudson. Your dad owns this cabin so I'm assuming you know this area a little bit? What are some romantic places I can take Billie to?"

"So, there's this rich ass neighborhood like fifteen minutes away from here. I'll give you the address and you can GPS it if you want. They always decorate their houses really fancy, and it's really beautiful. There's also this place about twenty minutes away. It's a big empty building that nobody owns, and not many people seem to know about it. I know a guy who does know about it, though, and I can get him to decorate it with Christmas lights and shit for you if you wanna take her there. You guys can have a romantic dinner there. He owns a furniture store and I'm sure he'd let you guys borrow some cute bean bags or something. I'll talk to him about it and help him decorate if you decide you wanna go there. Let's see...What else?"

He hummed and tapped his fingers on his legs as he thought. "There's a really nice park like forty minutes away. That's kinda a long drive, but it's really pretty when it's covered in snow. It has a fountain and it just--It looks magical in the wintertime. There's a small cafe not too far from here, though, and they have really cute Christmas treats. It's super warm and cozy and simple...Oh! There's a karaoke bar too. Every night from the 15th through the 24th they have a little 'Party' and you can come enjoy Christmas music and shit. It's really fun and they have bomb snacks."

"Damn, a lot goes on around here." I laughed. "I wish I could take her to all of that. I think I'd like to take her to that building you were talking about though. Are you sure your friend won't mind us being there?"

"It's not his and he definitely won't mind. He happens to love doing shit like this. Helping people with their dates and all." Hudson chuckled.

"Okay, so we'll go check the building out then?" Luna asked. We agreed. "Great...Do you have something to wear or are you gonna buy something?"

I thought about it for a moment before sighing. My savings are leaving faster than I can even say the word savings. It's worth it, though.

"I'm gonna have to buy something. Any good stores around here? Closer than the mall, I mean."

"There's a clothing store around fifteen minutes away from the building. We can go there after we check it out."

"Dope." I grinned.

***

I'd fallen in love with the building quickly even though there was nothing in there but dust. I can just see it now. It'll look so amazing when it's decorated with Christmas lights and rose petals--Which Hudson suggested we cover the floor with. I hated even having to leave the place, but now we're in the clothing store Hudson had told us about, and it's really nice.

It's small, but they've got a lot to offer and the prices aren't bad either. Just what I needed.

"You'd look hot in this." Luna smirked as she held up a little white dress. I was going to argue, but I couldn't. I think billie would like to see me in that. It's a bodycon dress with cute ruffles on the short sleeves and it looks like it'll show just enough cleavage. A lot of leg too.

"How much is it?" I questioned as I rubbed the fabric between my fingers. She shook her head. "Don't worry about it, girl. This can be your Christmas present from me."

"Oh, I don't know—"

"Please? I have no idea what else to get you and getting people shit stresses me out so much if I don't know what they actually want, but I know you want this so...Please?"

I bit my lip as I thought about it. "How much is it?" I asked again.

"Just $40. Pretty cheap for a number like this."

I sighed and nodded. "Sure, but now I feel bad cause your gift wasn't $40."

"Don't even worry about it!" She grinned as she grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the shoes. Hudson was already standing there, eyeing a pair of ugly red heels.

"Don't even think about it." I wrinkled my nose as I went to stand next to him.

"You suck." He pouted.

"I don't need shoes, I brought a nice pair of heels I could wear with it." I dragged him away from the shoes and over toward the jewelry. "I could really use a nice necklace though. A cheap one, cause I'll probably lose it." I usually don't wear that much jewelry, but I'm sure a necklace would really complete the look.

We began looking through all the nice looking necklaces they had, and I gasped as I saw a long one with lots of fake diamonds. It's really shiny and that's good enough for me. I picked it up and handed it to Luna so she could put it on me.

"Dude, this looks like it's expensive as shit!" She muttered as I turned around. I lifted my hair up and laughed a little.

"It is for me."

Once it was on I stared at myself in a nearby mirror. I hummed in satisfaction as I pictured how it'd look with the dress. Even if I didn't think it'd look good with the dress I still would've gotten it. It's cute.

"It's gonna draw attention to my boobs." I grinned.

***

"Baby, I'm gonna be in there in like twenty minutes. I'm still with Luna right now." I spoke quietly as I glanced over at Luna who was pulling out every makeup product she could find.

"You've been gone all day, dude. I miss you." She whined. "I don't give a fuck about that date anymore. I want you here, now."

"That's really convincing, trust me, it is. But I just have to do this one last thing and then I'll be up there."

"Hurry up, babe, I've got the perfect shade for you!" Luna called as she turned to face me, holding up some foundation.

"Did that bitch just call you 'babe'?" Billie growled.

"Well, Yeah—"

"Why are you spending so much time with her? You've been up her ass this whole trip. Is there something you're not telling me?" Billie's tone turned dark in just a second. I shifted uncomfortably as I listened to her, wondering what the hell she was talking about.

"Ugh—I mean...Sorry?" My voice cracked and I rolled my eyes at myself. I was just caught off guard. Billie hadn't mentioned having a problem with me hanging out with Luna or anyone else for that matter, and honestly she doesn't really seem to be the jealous type. I mean, yeah there's some girls she doesn't like, but she doesn't seem jealous. She knows I only want her. How could I not?

"Don't you think it's a little weird that my ex is hanging around you so much? She's trying to become your best friend or something and it's weird."

"She's just being friendly, Bil. You have nothing to worry about." I whispered, turning to face the wall in hopes of making it harder for Luna to hear. "You should be happy she's being so nice to me and not trying to scare me off or something."

"She told me she wanted you." She told me abruptly. "A few nights ago, the campfire. She told me she thinks you're cute and that I don't deserve you. She told me she was gonna get you to leave me and be with her."

My eyes widened and my mouth flew open in shock. Why the fuck had Billie waited until now to tell me this?

"Why the fuck did you wait until now to tell me this?!" I questioned aloud. "You didn't think to mention this earlier?"

"I wasn't worried earlier. Why the fuck would I have to worry? It's not like you're gonna leave me for her...Are you?"

"Obviously fucking not, Billie, but that isn't something you should just keep from me. I mean for fucks sake I let her hold my hand during the scary movie, I fucking went to plan our date with her. If I'd known I would've stayed away from her."

"I didn't want you to stay away from her. I wanted to see what you'd do."

"What?"

"When I was with Luna, she'd get with any girl that made a move on her. It really fucked me up. I can't fucking go through that again. I was gonna tell you about what she said, but then I decided that maybe I should just test you. See what you'd do if someone else wanted you. But now the test is fucking over and I want you away from her before she tries something."

"Fucking test—Are you kidding me, bitch?! You don't fucking trust me and you thought it'd be a good idea to—I can't even fucking fathom how you could think that was okay!"

"Is everything alright?" Luna called, sounding weary. I ignored her. I don't even know what to say to her right now. I feel weird being in here alone with her knowing that she likes me.

"Well, I didn't want us to be dating for months and months and then I find out you're a cheater. I wanted to check now, when we're first starting out. Now I know I can trust you!"

"You could've just told me that you had doubts. You could've told me you didn't trust me, not pulled this bullshit."

"It wouldn't have been the same."

"You're fucking unbelievable, Billie."

"Please don't be mad, I just didn't—"

"Fuck you." I spat before hanging up. I let out a loud breath as I ran a hand down my face, and jumped before turning around as I felt Luna's hand on my shoulder.

"Is everything okay? That sounded really bad."

"Billie's been testing me this whole time. Seeing if I'd cheat on her with you because apparently you like me. Why didn't you tell me you liked me? Why'd you tell Billie you were gonna take me from her?" I questioned, glaring at her.

"Would you have left her for me if I'd just told you I liked you?" She crossed her arms over her chest and sent me a pointed look.

"No, because I want Billie! Not you!"

"Baby," she sighed, putting her hands on my waist. I tried to back away from her but she just backed me into the wall. "I know Billie's really pretty and funny and shit. I know she seems great, but I promise you, I'm so much better. I would treat you so much better than she does."

"So, you mean to tell me you took me shopping for a date with Billie, my girlfriend, Billie, and this whole time you've been plotting to get with me? What was the reason? What was the reason!?"

"To spend more time with you and figure out how to woo you." She shrugged. I shook my head and reached blindly for the door knob that I knew was close to me.

"Well, I don't fucking want you." I muttered. I remembered my dress and necklace and quickly slid under her arms to rummage through our bags and find them. "I'm keeping this shit too." I muttered as I tried to find the necklace after I'd found my dress.

"Looking for this?" I turned to look at Luna who was dangling the necklace above her head. I sighed and tried to grab it, but she held it up further out of my reach.

"Are we fucking five? Give me my shit so I can dip."

"Give me a kiss and I'll think about it." She smirked.

"You're being really fucking creepy and really fucking ridiculous right now. I have a girlfriend and I don't want you so you should move on. If that isn't enough for you, maybe the fact that you have Bea should be."

"I don't give a fuck about Bea. She's cute and all, but once I saw you at the dance I knew I wanted you. I thought Billie just wanted you because you look like me, but now I see it's just cause you're a total babe. On the inside and out."

She moved closer as she spoke and I moved backward until I fell onto the bed. I tried to get back up, but she was straddling me before I could even think to move. She grabbed my shirt and pulled me closer, crashing our lips together. I groaned as I tried to move away, but my squirming was helping exactly nothing.

"Nothing to worry about, huh?"

Luna finally let me go and I sat up quickly, practically tossing her off of me. Billie was standing there, her fists balled up and tears pouring from her eyes already.

"I told you I always get what I want. You should've known. Learn from experience." Luna reached over to grab my thigh and I shoved her hand away before standing up.

"Billie—"

"This is exactly why I did what I did. I wanted to know if I could trust you or not. Guess not." She spat before storming out.

I grabbed my dress and necklace quickly before running after her. No fucking way I was leaving those behind.

"Billie, wait! I don't want her!" I grabbed her wrist to keep her from getting farther away and she yanked it out of my grip, turning abruptly to face me.

"Stay the fuck away from me, dude!"

"You cannot be serious! You can't honestly think that that kiss meant anything!"

"Why the fuck would you kiss her in the first place?!"

"I think it's pretty obvious that she was kissing me and not the other way around!" I defended. She rolled her eyes. "It takes two sets of lips to make a kiss happen."

"Billie—"

"Stay with your new girl tonight. If you come back to our room I'm gonna beat your ass." She growled, getting into my face. She turned to walk away after staring me down for a few moments and I sighed shakily before turning the other way.

This is only happening because we're two dumb ass bitches. I'm dumb for thinking Luna had good intentions and Billie's dumb for not realizing her crazy ass ex forced herself on me.

I'm starting to think this 'drama free' trip isn't gonna be so drama free. Maybe I'm a bit late, seeing as there's already been a shit ton of drama, but I still thought for a while there that it'd be mostly smooth sailing.

Guess not.

I know one thing, though. Billie's ass is gonna forgive me and we're still gonna go on our date. I've already asked Hudson to have his friend decorate that adorable little building, and I've already got myself a nice dress to wear on the date.

She's gonna forgive me for Luna's actions, and she's gonna do it before her damn birthday. Period.
