Dahlia's POV
*************
"It's gonna be so perfect, dude! Dad insisted on us doing this instead of having him an actual birthday party, and I think it's gonna be dope." I grinned as I continued to scroll through all the baby shit I was looking at. "The baby shower is gonna be Saturday, March 31st cause we're pretty sure she got pregnant on Thanksgiving, and my dad's birthday is March 30th anyway, so it's close to both those dates."
"That's great, Dahlia. I'm really happy that you're so excited. Please get your child." Finneas shoved Petrillo in front of my laptop screen, blocking my view, and I snatched her out of his hands, sticking my tongue out at him before yelling 'Think fast!' And chucking the child at Billie who was lying on the couch. She reached a hand out to catch her without even looking, and then let her fall to the floor after she did.
"You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Especially you, Dahlia. I mean, I'd expect this behavior from Billie because she's psychotic, but you? You're better than this." Fin shook his head and crossed his arms over his chest. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"You literally ran them over with your carâ"
"I didn't know they were back there! And if Billie wasn't neglecting them instead of being a good mother, they wouldn't have been out there in the first place!" He shouted defensively. "All I'm saying is, I hope you treat your niece or nephew better than you treat these baby dolls."
I shrugged before looking back at my screen. "Can't possibly treat him or her any worse than this." I snickered. "So anyway, it's gonna be so dope. We've got a huge backyard and we're just gonna have it back there. I mean, it's only huge because we kinda share it with Caden and Cadence's family. Only thing that separates our yards is a fence, but we can open that so...Yeah. They don't mind if we set up tables and stuff in their yard too." I sighed as I thought about how amazing it'd look once we finished decorating.
"Julia has a big family, you know, her mom and dad and sister, and then mostly a lot of cousins, and they're all gonna be there. Then, of course, our family will be there. Even our uncles and aunts and grandparents are coming and I'm so excited to see them! It's gonna be like a whole family reunion. I cannot wait to see my cousins."
"Yeah, Yeah, that's nice and all, but where's my invite?" Finneas questioned as he sat next to me. I rolled my eyes. "Pretty sure Denny will invite you, but I'm trying to convince him not to." He flicked my forehead in response.
"Then all our friends and shit will be there which is great. Billie, the better sibling, are you gonna come?" I laid down on my stomach, grunting as the soft carpet on the floor burned my knees as it rubbed against it.
"Duh, I wouldn't miss it," She grinned. "God, why is this thing still screaming? We fed it, we burped it, we changedâ"
"Who the hell is we?" Finneas hissed. "Dahlia and I did all that! You just sat there complaining the whole time."
"Complaining takes energy. I'm just as tired as you two are." She groaned as she stood up and stretched. I winced as she stood on top of the baby for a brief second and then walked toward the kitchen. "I'm getting a snack, you guys want something?"
"I want some juice." Finneas called after her.
"Okay, then get it!" She yelled from the kitchen. I laughed before sitting up and patting his shoulder and then standing up to stretch myself. "I'll get it."
I walked into the kitchen and smiled as I saw Billie already pouring his juice. She turned to look at me and shook her head. "Tell him you got it for him. I don't want him walking around here thinking I love him or anything." She smirked.
"Sure thing." I laughed.
"You're gonna go to Kai's little housewarming party thing right?" She asked after a moment. I nodded.
Kai moved out of Billie's basement a few days before Maggie and Patrick came back home from their business trip. She seems to be enjoying living with Jessica and their other roommate, Ori, so far and I'm really happy for her. She's seemed a lot happier the past few times I've spoken to her than what she's ever seemed before.
They're having a little housewarming party this weekend and I'm really excited to go. I can't believe one of my friends is having a housewarming party! That's so weird to think about.
"What'd you get to bring? I need to top it." Billie grinned. I rolled my eyes and flipped her off. "I got them four laundry baskets and one of them is filled with cleaning products. Pretty basic."
She hummed as she thought about it. "I think I'm gonna get them kitchen shit. Plates and bowls and shit."
"Oh my god, yay!" I jumped up and down for a few seconds before rushing over to her. "I love kitchen shit! I love buying stuff for kitchens!"
I don't know what my obsession is with it, but I'm always happy when I get to buy a nice looking plate or some fancy looking pots and pans or something.
"You really are like a grandma." She snickered. "Anyway, I'm gonna get them some kitchen shit and maybe some bathroom shit...Don't tell anyone, but I'm kinda excited too. I mean, I can't imagine what it's gonna be like when I move out! It'll be so cool."
We both gushed about the thought of it for a few minutes before Finneas yelled 'Where's my juice?!'
I rolled my eyes, muttering to myself as we walked out of the kitchen. "I am not your maid you little bitch." I grumbled as I handed him the juice.
"Really? That outfit makes you look like one." He smirked before standing up and walking toward his room. "If you two little assholes need me, I'll be in my room, FaceTiming Claudia. Don't. Need. Me."
I pouted. "I sure miss when he used to be nice to me."
She shrugged. "He was only nice to me for three months after I came along. At least you got more than that."
***
"We should go dress shopping together soon," I mumbled. I rubbed my eyes before looking at Billie who was already looking at me. "I have no idea what I'm gonna wear. Not a single clue."
"What colors have you eliminated?" She asked, getting up from her own couch and coming over to the one I was sitting on. I scooted over to give her room to plop down and sighed as I thought about it. "None. Except maybe brown. And black because I already wore that to the Sadie's dance. And orange because I don't think an orange dress would look good on me. Three. I've eliminated three."
"You wanna wear white?"
"Nah, I'm too clumsy. I'd probably spill something on it or start my period or something." I grumbled. "And Cadence is seriously considering a hot pink dress so that color is out too, even though I couldn't see myself wearing that color in the first place."
"You'd look good in red." She suggested.
I crinkled my nose. "Maybe, but a lot of people do red. But I do want red...I don't know. I thought about blue, or maybe rose gold. Or green. You know I love some neon green."
"Absolutely not," She shook her head. "You'd look good in a neon green dress, but I definitely wouldn't. I'd look like a big glob of slime."
I laughed loudly and shook my head at her. "You'd look nice, but alright. No neon green."
"Do you think your dress is gonna be puffy or body fitting? Long or short? How you feeling?"
"No fucking idea," I sighed. "I know it's probably gonna be either silk or sparkly though! I think most people will be wearing something sparkly or silk because of the Gatsby theme, you know?"
Before she could reply my phone started to ring. I picked it up and saw that it was Denver calling, so I handed my laptop to her and let her continue scrolling through dresses while I answered. "What's up?"
"Do you think Julia and I should move in together?"
"What? Why?" I asked quickly.
"Because we're both house hunting right now and we both need a place to live and neither of us makes that much money so we'll both need roommates, but it's gonna be hard for either of us to find a roommate because we'll have a baby and nobody is gonna wanna move in with somebody who has a newborn baby. So, I mentioned that maybe it'd be a good idea for us to just move in together and she freaked out. She said it'd be too weird and that it was a bad idea. What do you think?"
I held my hand over my heart and felt my eyes watering as I jutted out my lips. "You're asking me for advice? Ugh, I love that!" I cooed.
"Answer the question before I hang up on you."
"Alright, Alright!" I rolled my eyes. "Ugh...I don't know, I mean, yeah it'll be hard to find roommates willing to deal with a screaming baby, and I guess it makes sense for you guys to move in together since you're gonna be parents, butâ"
"See! I told you she'd agree with me!" I heard him yell and Julia told him to shut the fuck up, causing me to laugh.
"Let me finish!" I told him. "But that could also be really weird and it could turn ugly fast. You two aren't together anymore and that means you might find other people to get with eventually. What happens then? Your S/O's are definitely gonna think it's weird that you two live together, and also...You know what? No, it's a bad idea." I shook my head. "Remember what happened with Ross and Rachel?"
"We're not Ross and Rachel." He huffed. "Look, I don't know what we're gonna do if we don't move in together. I've calculated everything I could possibly calculate four thousand times. I cannot afford to live on my own right now, especially not with the baby. Neither can she."
I frowned as he spoke. I could hear how stressed he was and I could practically feel it too. "Hey, calm down, alright? That baby isn't gonna be here for months. Plenty of time to figure out what to do, and remember dad is not gonna kick you out or something if you don't have a place to stay by the time it gets here. You know you don't have to rush. Just take it easy and everything will fall into place. You guys will figure it out. Keep looking for houses. Keep looking for roommates. You got this."
"Thanks, Dahlia." He sighed.
"Yeah. Hey, here's an idea. Do you want me to start up a gofundme page for you?"
"Bye, Dahlia."
He hung up and I shrugged to myself. Guess not.
"He's stressing a lot, huh?" Billie asked. I nodded. "I could give him the money, you know? I could help him pay for whatever house he wants. Julia too. I can help her. " She offered.
My heart fluttered as I listened to her. Why is she so fucking nice and generous all the time? I wish she'd turn into a selfish, spoiled little brat so that I could get over her.
"Denver would never let you do that and you know it. He'd rather get hit by a bus. Five times."
"You Does are really stubborn and it's annoying." She rolled her eyes.
"Thanks for offering," I smirked. "But hey, I know how you can help."
"How?"
"My dad has been talking about having a garage sale for...Years. He's always wanted to so we could get rid of all the junk that we don't use that's cluttering up the house, but we've never got around to it. I could ask him if he'd be willing to finally have the sale, and we could give all the money to Denver."
"Ugh, you're so resourceful, I love it." She said in a funny voice. I laughed and shoved her shoulder as I stood up. "So, what do you want me to do? Finesse people into buying stuff for way more than it's actually worth? Cause I can definitely do that and I'd be happy to."
"I'll have to consider that, but I think Cadence will be able to handle that part." I chuckled. "No, I need you to distract Denver. He'd love to hang out with you again, I'm sure. You guys haven't hung out just one on one in a long time. I kinda snatched his friend away from him."
"Yeah, I guess you did...Why does he need to be distracted?"
"He'd never let us do something like this for him if he knew about it. He's gotta be out of the house while we have the sale."
"I'll drive him somewhere far off and desert him. Then I might have enough time to come and help you guys out with the sale." She grinned.
"Sounds like a plan," I joked. "I'll talk to my dad about it and see what he says, but I already know he'll be all for it! He loves garage sales."
"Dope. I'll ask my parents if we can bring some of our stuff that we don't need too. We've needed to have a garage sale for, like, all our lives but we never have, so I'm sure we'll have plenty to contribute. You can keep all the money you make from that stuff too...And I'll ask all our friends if they'd be willing to do the same for you." She smiled as she picked up her phone and began texting.
"Thanks so much, Billie." I smiled. "I've gotta pay you back for all of this one day."
"You can pay me back for it really soon, actually." She stood up and awkwardly played with the rings on her finger. I tilted my head and waited patiently for her to tell me how. "I was wondering if I could get that ring I gave you back? The one with my name on it..." She muttered.
Ouch. I don't know why that hurt, but it did. I just wasn't expecting for her to ask for it back. "Yeah, of course! No problem." I put on the largest smile I could, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't that convincing.
"It's just that, um...You know, you obviously don't wear it anymore, so..."
She could probably get her money back for it or something. I get that. I nodded quickly and grabbed my laptop. "Yeah. I'm gonna go home and talk to my dad about everything and then I'll come over again later with the ring. We've gotta start watching friends again anyway."
We've been watching friends most of the times we were supposed to be working on our project. No regrets.
"Alright. See you later." She smiled as I headed for the front door. "Oh, wait, you're leaving Petrillo!" She shouted after me.
"She'll be fine here! Bye!"

A/N: Do you guys think Denny and Julia are having a girl or a boy?
