Dahlia's POV
*************
"I can't believe them kids look that damn good! Got damn it, them are my grandkids! And their little friends! You know my grandkids ain't friends with ugly people! Oh, they all just look so good!" Nana shoved her camera into each and every one of our faces and took pictures of usâor tried. I think she's actually just taking pictures of the floor and doesn't know it.
Dad and Josephine stood a little farther back, practically bouncing up and down as they snapped photos of us all. "Damn, look at my niece and nephew! Whew, lord, that prom isn't ready for them! Work it, honey! Yes, pose for the camera! Vogue, vogue, vogue, vogue."
Caden did various poses and he was honestly slaying it. He really wasn't fucking around. He looks really good, and I've gotta say, we all do.
"Cora, Liza, you two move closer to Dahlia so I can get you in this picture! Oh, my god, my kids. Denver, part your hair again, the way I had it."
"But the part makes me lookâ"
"I said part it!" He shouted. Denny parted his hair and pouted at the camera. "Good! Good." Dad nodded.
"Oh, I'll tell you what, back when I was going to prom the men didn't look anywhere near as good as this." She squeezed Denny's cheeks and then Caden's, only she didn't squeeze the cheeks on his face. Caden jumped and smiled at her. "Don't you get anybody pregnant tonight, boy. I can just look at you and tell you would." She warned him. "Speaking of, where's the pregnant one? The pretty Asian girl we had the shower for a couple of weeks ago? Where's she? Oh, she was just a doll!"
"She's actually riding with Billie. That's why they're a bit late. They're coming." Denny smiled.
"Alright, we all know the rules, huh? No drunk driving, no twerking, no smoking or drinking, no staying out past 1, no having sexâ"
"Listen here, I brought enough condoms for us all," Nana spoke quietly as dad went on in the background. She handed us each a condom, making sure he wouldn't see. "I heard this same speech from my own father several times, but when a girl wants to bump privates with a nice looking fellow, she will do it. Y'all know how to put them on? I can get the banana out of my purse if you don't. Ain't no big deal, you justâ"
We were all blushing and I was starting to feel faint. Why are the adults around us absolute lunatics?
"Oh, don't you look like an angel!" Josephine came over to Ken and played with one of the curls in her hair. She'd done Cadence, Ken and I's makeup and hair for us. "You too Gigi, you look dashing!"
"I didn't wanted to try theâughâthe..."
"Highlighter?"
"Yes! The highlighter you suggest to me, but it make my skin sparkle and I look like sexy vampire."
I raised my brows and smirked at Cadence, knowing that he was only repeating what she'd said. She shrugged. "Well, he does."
"You guys are going to a restaurant after, yeah?" Dad questioned. "Watch out for each other." He pulled Cora, Denny and I to the side. "And no funny business. I know prom night is the night a lot of teenagers lose their virginity, butâ"
"I think it's a bit late to be giving me this talk." Denny smiled. "Julia's literally about to be six months pregnant."
I cringed. I think it's a bit late for him to be giving all of us this talk.
"Don't worry about me losing my virginity tonight, dad." Cora patted his shoulder and smiled up at him as he wrapped an arm around her. "I lost it during the cabin trip."
His mouth fell open as she walked away. I watched as Nana pulled her and Liza to the side and handed them pamphlets about...Does that say 'Safe lesbian sex'?
"Well, I...I guess...Well, at least you're still, you know..." He stuttered, looking down at me. I bit my lip as I thought back on all the times Billie had made me scream at the top of my lungs as she fucked me. Over and over again. In the bedroom, in the living room, in the kitchen. In my house, in her house, in the cabin. Those...Few times in the car that I won't admit to if anyone asks.
"Yeah." I nodded, walking away quickly.
I made sure to stay out of Nana's line of vision, noticing that she still had more of those pamphlets to give out.
I sighed in relief as I heard a knock on the door. The perfect opportunity to get a breath of fresh air.
"I'll get it!" All of us yelled at the same time. I was closest to the door, so I smirked at my friends as I opened it and quickly stepped out. "Oh, you look so beautiful! What the hell?!" I shouted as I looked at Julia. Her growing belly was still noticeable even in her fluffy dress, but she's totally making it work. Not to mention her pregnancy glow! "You look like a goddess, what the fuck?!"
"Stop it!" She giggled as she gave me a hug. "That's you! Wow, you look absolutely gorgeous!"
We gushed over each other before she went inside, and I finally looked at Billie. She looked amazing in her dress, and the color looked so good on her! "Wow, oh my god!" I screamed, jumping up and down the best I could in my dress. "Wow, you clean up nice!"
She just looked me up and down, not saying anything, a faraway look in her eyes. "Billie? You good?" I questioned.
She didn't answer. I frowned as I tilted my head and waved a hand in front of her face. "You there?" I giggled.
I squeaked as she pulled me in for a hug instead of replying. She rested one of her hands on the curve of my back and brought the other one up to stroke my hair. After a few moments, I wrapped my arms around her as well.
"You look so beautiful, Dahlia." She whispered after a while.
When we finally pulled away from each other, I lowered my head and tried to hide how red my cheeks were. She pushed her knuckle under my chin, just like she used to always do, and lifted my head up. "You look gorgeous." She told me again.
"Y-You look even better!" I giggled nervously, backing away from her a little. Her eyes followed my every move and it was as if she was looking right through me. Her intense eye contact almost made me wish that I was back inside. Almost.
"Dahlia, baby, come back in here so I can give you this pamphlet! I don't need my grandbaby getting aids!" I heard Nana shout through the cracked door. Billie finally looked away from me and toward the sound. "Was that Nana's voice?" She asked.
"Yeah, she drove back down here to see us leaving for prom," I sighed. "It's a circus in there. Just so you know, she has pamâ"
"Oh, I don't know who gave them condoms, Joseph! Hell, it wasn't me. Clearly, I don't know a damn thing about condoms. That's why I have six kids. Have you spoken to your brothers and sisters lately, by the way?" I heard her question.
"Well, I can't wait to see this." She smirked as she grabbed my hand and pulled me inside.
"Dahlia, hey!" Nana came running up to me and Billie quickly. She greeted Billie before turning to me again. "Now, listen. I know I gave you a condom, you know, just in case you like a boy enough to try him out tonight? You can never be too safe, but the problem is, I thought I had more than what I did and I gave you the last one I had." She said.
"Umâ"
"Now, I don't think tonight's the night you're gonna switch out a Jane for a John, so maybe I could get that back? I've got a date tonight and I'm gonna need it."
"Oh my godâEw!" I cringed. "IâDo you even need it? I mean, you can have it back, but do you even have eggs anymore?"
"Well, what the hell is that supposed to mean, Dahlia? I'm not that damn old, I'm only thirty-nine!" She smirked.
I sent her a look and crossed my arms. "Oh, I thought dad was thirty-nine?"
"Oh," She waved me off. "Everybody knows his old ass is forty-one."
I handed her the condom and she smiled and thanked me. "Okay, girls. Come sit with Nana and let me talk to you about lesbian sex. I found some facts online, and I'll tell you whatâ"
"Nana, I think I know a lot more about lesbian sex than you do, believe me." Billie smirked and winked at me and I shook my head at her, blushing yet again.
"Well then explain something to me. I read about that scissoring, but what the hellâ"
"We've gotta go! Now!" I yelled.
***
After we got to the actual prom, we spent the first thirty minutes taking group pictures, and then selfies, then individual pictures, etc. I'm surprised it didn't take longer, and it definitely would've if Cadence had had her way.
We finally made it inside the building after that, though, and I think it took all of our breath away. It was decorated beautifully, and I wasn't expecting it to look so nice. "I told you, bitches," Hudson smirked as we stared at it in awe. "We worked really hard decorating this."
"We can tell!" Bea exclaimed as she turned around in a circle, looking at the place. "Damn, this is beautiful."
"Alright, we've gotta get pictures in here too!" Cadence shouted.
We spent the next thirty minutes doing that.
After we finally finished with pictures, we all went to the food tables and fixed some nice plates and then headed over to our table and took our seats. "Holy hell, I can't believe how crispy these chicken tenders are!" I mumbled before biting into one. I moaned as I tasted how amazing it was and looked over at Caden, knowing he'd be appreciating them just as much as I was.
"The only thing I've eaten that tasted better than these was Ken's p--"
"Boy, don't you finish that sentence." Ken shook her head, quickly shoving another tender into his mouth. I snorted and shook my head at them.
"This is exactly why I brought my big purse," I heard Liza tell Cora. "I'm gonna go over there when the teachers move and put a few in here."
"Can you grab some of the wings too? Oh, and a few of those biscuits too." Cora smiled.
"I can't believe how fucking sexy you look," Kai smiled and poked Jessica's side before looking around. She blushed as she noticed a few of us looking at her. "Bestie." She added quickly.
"Thanks...Sis." Jessica grinned.
"My highlighter still glowing, just like pretty Cadence's!" Gigi said as he leaned over to kiss Cadence's cheek, and then her lips. "You look like a celebrity, you know? Lady Gaga."
"Oh," Cadence blushed and shook her head at him. "Stop it! Thank you, baby."
I can't wait to scream at her about how happy I am for her and Gigi later.
After we finished eating, we all decided to get up and dance, except for Julia and Billie who was still munching on her food. She hadn't said much of anything the whole night, and it was really starting to worry me. I asked her if she was okay earlier and she told me she was just feeling a little sick, but I didn't believe her.
I don't wanna push her, so I'll wait a while longer and see if she starts to feel better.
"I know your dad said no twerking, but honey," Cadence drawled. "I'm finna act up and hopefully Gigi will snatch me up!" She smirked as she ran toward the dance floor.
"Me too! Come on, Heidi baby, we're about to show out." Bea dragged a laughing Heidi along.
"I don't feel comfortable throwing my ass, knowing that my baby will know...You know?" Julia smiled. "I'll just watch you guys."
"Do you need anything?" Denver asked as he got up.
"Well, I could use a hot mess bowl."
"A hot what?" I tilted my head.
"My family is a bunch of weirdos, and we make what we like to call a 'hot mess bowl' pretty frequently. It's just a bowl full of hot Cheetos and hot wings with hot sauce, jalapeno peppers, and pickles. And occasionally, nacho cheese." She smiled.
"Girl...Is that safe?"
"Probably not. I'm not eating it while I'm pregnant, but damn, I'd love one right now."
"I'll be damned," Billie spoke for the first time in over an hour. "I'd like to try the vegan version."
"Billie, I know you don't feel good. Do you want me to stay with you?" I asked. "I'm your date after all." I laughed.
She shook her head and smiled weakly. "No, go dance. I'm gonna stay here and talk to Julia about that hot mess bowl."
I nodded and reluctantly followed my friends to the dance floor. I ended up dancing with Gigi and Cadence for a while, and then I moved on to dancing with Hudson and the cute guy he was dancing with. I'll have to ask him about that later!
I couldn't take anymore dancing after about an hour, though. My feet felt like they were about to fall off. I made my way back to our table and smiled as I saw Julia eating a plate full of dessert. "Hey, how are you doing?" I asked.
"Oh, I'm fabulous." She muffled out before shoving another piece of red velvet cake into her mouth. "I ate like this before I was pregnant, but damn am I happy to have an excuse now."
We talked for a few minutes before I asked her where Billie was. She wasn't at the table when I came over here and I figured she was in the bathroom or either up dancing.
"She walked out a while ago. Said she needed some fresh air." She shrugged. "It was about...Forty-five minutes ago, though."
"Okay, I'm gonna go find her. Text me if you need anything." I smiled before excusing myself quickly. Where the hell is Billie and why has she been gone for forty-five minutes? What if she's in the bathroom, throwing up her guts right now?
I quickly swung the door open and left the room where the prom was being held. It got a lot quieter the moment I stepped out, and I looked in both directions, trying to figure out which way to go. I decided to go left, heading toward the bathroom since that's where she was most likely to be.
I practically busted in, slamming the door open and looking around to see if she was in there. I walked further in and looked under the stalls, sighing in relief once I saw a bit of her dress poking out from underneath the door. She must've had her feet up on the toilet because I didn't see her legs and couldn't see much of her dress, but a small part of it wasn't hidden so I knew it was her.
"Hey, Billie, are you okay?" I asked as I knocked on the stall door.
"I'm good."
She was not. I could hear her sniffling and her voice was raspier than usual.
"Billie, did you get sick? Open the door, babe. We can go home if you want to. We don't have to stay here if you don't feel good, I mean, we've already been here for two hours and Iâ"
I backed up as the stall door swung open. She pulled her legs back up onto the toilet seat and wrapped her arms around them as I walked in and squatted down beside her. Her makeup was smudged because of all the crying she must've been doing, and I furrowed my brows as I rubbed one of her arms. "Did something happen? Tell me what's wrong, Bil."
"This is wrong. This is all wrong," She choked out. "I thought that I could do this. I thought I could come here and hang out with you and I thought we could have a good time together as just friends, but I'm stupid for ever thinking that. I can't do that shit anymore."
"What do youâ"
"I fucking can't anymore, Dahlia. We were supposed to be coming here as a couple. Together. Girlfriends. It's just...You look so fucking gorgeous and breathtaking and fucking...I thought I'd get over you eventually, I thought that this was just a phase. You know, this whole 'I want to fucking die when I'm not with her' thing. I thought that was a phase, but it's not. I love you and I want to be with you and I can'tâI don't know how to get over you." She cried.
My eyes widened as I listened to her, my hand slowly falling from her arm and back to my side.
"I'm sorry I fucked up and I'm sorry about that stupid argument and all the stupid arguments since, and I'm sorry things are so weird between us and I'm sorry Iâ"
"What about Luna?" I questioned. "What's up with that whole situation? That's what I wanna know. She said you two were dating."
She looked down and sighed, pressing the palm of her hands into her eyes. "I fucked up, Dahlia. I'm stupid as shit and I'm sorry."
"That's not really an explanation, is it?"
She looked toward the ceiling and shook her head. "The whole thing was just to make you jealous, and we did a pretty shitty job." She laughed bitterly. "I started hanging around her again, started talking to her cause I knew it'd make you jealous. When that didn't work I took it a step further and told her to tell you we were dating."
"So...Instead of doing literally anything else, you really decided to go that route?" I narrowed my eyes.
"I know it was childish and stupid, Dahlia. I just didn't know what else to do. I didn't know how to get you back and I just thought that maybe if you got jealous enough, if you got tired of seeing us together you'd tell me that and ask for me to get back together with you." She explained softly. For the first time, she was avoiding eye contact with me.
"You didn't know how to get me back?" I raised my brows. "You could've asked. I mean, you never told me you wanted to get back together with me after we broke up. You never said 'Hey, Dahlia, I know we had a fight and broke up, but I want you back.' Why the hell was your first thought to make me jealous? Why couldn't you just ask me to be with you again?"
"I know it sounds stupid, but that thought never occurred to me." Yeah, that sounded really stupid. "I just...I don't know how I got you to be with me in the first place. I didn't think I'd get lucky a second time. I never thought to ask you to be mine again because I just automatically assumed that you'd say no, and you never mentioned wanting to get back together either, so I figured you didn't want to."
Well, I guess I understand that. That's the same way I felt. I sighed as I changed my position so that I was fully sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall. I know this floor is probably disgusting as shit, but I don't have the time to care right now. I've got bigger fish to fry.
"I guess I felt the same way. You never mentioned it so neither did I. And you were the one that asked if I wanted to break up with you so I just figured that that was what you wanted."
"I wanted to be the one to suggest it so that it wouldn't hurt so much. Cause if you'd asked me if I wanted to break up or told me that you did, I don't know how I would've taken it." She sighed. "I'm so selfish. I'm sorry."
"Yeah," I muttered, playing with some of the fabric on my dress. I shook my head and looked away from her as I tried not to let her see the tears starting to run down my cheeks. Great. Now I'm gonna look like a fucking raccoon.
"How could you do that shit to me, Billie?" I cried after a moment. "Everything else was shitty, but I could deal with it. But giving her my fucking ring? Are you kidding me? You knew what the fuck you were doing when you did that. You knew how much that would hurt me and you did it anyway. I would never do something like that to you and I can'tâ"
"What?" She cut in. I turned to face her as I heard her moving. She sat down across from me slowly and furrowed her brows. "What are you talking about?"
"You gave Luna my ring, which was supposed to be meant just for me. Maybe it's stupid of me to be so offended by that, maybe I really am overreacting and being overdramatic like you said, but nobody's ever done something like that for me. Nobody's gotten me a ring before and that...That shit means something to me, Billie. It means the world to me. It's special to me. It's so serious to me, and for you to give her that shit when it was supposed to be meant for me...That just broke my heart." I shook my head.
She stared at me for a few moments before rolling her eyes and then staring at the wall beside my head. "I'll kill that bitch."
"What?"
"Dahlia, I would never in my life give that hoe a ring, and I damn for sure wouldn't allow her to put one that I got made specifically for youâjust youâon her crusty ass finger. That's mad disrespectful, and if I'd known she was gonna do that I would've killed her ass on the spot." She spat.
"But I don't get it. When I talked to you about the ring in the bathroom you told me that I was being overdramatic because I was mad you gave it to her."
"No, I thought you were just mad because I asked for it back. I didn't know you were mad because you saw her wearing it."
"So..." I looked down and began playing with my fingers. "What you're saying is...You didn't give her the ring?"
"I would never in my life disrespect you like that." She huffed. "And next time I see her imma punch her in the mouth."
"So, how'd she get it?" I questioned.
"I don'tâ" She stopped talking and thought for a moment, seemingly growing more and more confused by the second. She furrowed her brows and made a thinking face, and she was silent for a good two minutes. "Wait...She literally doesn't have it. She can't."
"What do you mean she doesn't have it? I saw it on her overly boney finger." I grumbled. I do not have big fingers or man hands, that bitch was out of line saying that shit.
"No, your ring is with my ring and my ring is in my car. She couldn't have it. I know she doesn't because I always look in my armrest to make sure they're still there after getting in the car and before I get out. They've been there the whole time."
"What if she took it just to show me at the garage sale? She could've taken it and put it backâ"
"She's never been in my car. I don't let dogs in there."
I frowned as I thought about it. "I...Do you think she got a duplicate or something?"
"I don't give a damn what she did. Whatever she did, she's getting her ass beat for it. On sight."
"You're not beating anyone's ass until we figure this shit out," I told her sternly. "I mean, what the hell happens now?"
"I don't know", She sighed. "I just wanna say sorry again. For everything. I can't say it enough and I'll never make it up to you. I'm just really sorry, Dahlia."
"I'm sorry too. We're both idiots sometimes."
"Yeah," She smiled. "I...I think one of the main problems we have is that we're both petty as hell and we never seem to say what's on our minds. Maybe we should start."
"I agree."
"Alright, so...This isn't easy for me to say because I know you probably won't respond in the way that I want you to, but I have to say it. Dahlia, I want you back. I love you. I'm in love with you and I hate to say this because I don't wanna freak you out, but I...I wanna spend, like, the rest of my life with you...Probably." She cringed and closed her eyes tightly as she said it.
"Oh, that's disgusting. That's cliche and disgusting and way too fucking much, but I really love your ass and I don't see that ever changing and IâWe can forget I ever said that shit if you want to, but ugh...You know, I just want you back and shit."
"I want you back and shit too." I laughed as I stood up and gestured for her to do the same. "I think, even though we had hella problems, that we were good for each other. You were definitely good for me. I don't want to not be with you. I don't wanna say this, but I need you. I need you, Billie." I pushed her against the wall of the stall and got as close to her as I could. "So, what's up?"
"Dahlia Jane Delilah Doe. Be my fucking girlfriend again or I'm gonna lay on the floor and throw a temper tantrum."
"I would like to see it." I smirked.
"Fucking say yes before I cry."
"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend again." I grinned. I grabbed her chin and brought her face closer to mine, slowly connecting our lips.
I was shocked by the kiss. It didn't feel the same. It wasn't like it was before. It was so much better. I cursed myself as I thought about the fact that I was feeling sparks. I hate that damn phrase, but I felt what I felt.
She tilted her head and deepened the kiss, her arms wrapping around me and pulling me even closer to her. My arms wrapped around her neck and I groaned as I deepened the kiss even more. Her hands eventually found their way down to my ass, squeezing it tightly, and I wrapped one of my legs around the back of her own.
One of her hands slid off my ass, around my waist and then down my stomach, and I moaned and pulled away from her, panting.
"I don't know, Dahlia. It kinda really feels like we're about to fuck in a bathroom stall right now."
"Yeah, it does."
"Is that really the best way to start up a new relationship?"
"I need you," I whined before leaning forward and licking her neck. I nibbled on it, smirking as I heard her let out a small moan. "Are you telling me you're not gonna fucking take care of your baby girl after all this time?" I whispered.
"Dahlia." She warned.
"I'll beg if that's what you want." I pulled away from her neck and stared up into her eyes, widening my own. "I need you to touch me, Bil. Please?"
"You're gonna get it."

A/N: Fun fact, I've never been to a school dance or a prom before so idk wtf goes on other than eating and dancing and snapchatting lmaoo. My friends all say they basically stay there for an hour and then dip.
