Chapter 15

Arjun's P.O.V.

I woke up to someone screaming. Rather it was my wife who was screaming. She was thrashing as beads of sweat covered her face.

I immediately took her thrashing body in my arms as I patted her cheek.

"Tanvi... Anvi, wake up, it's just a dream", I tried to tell her. After trying for a really long time did she open her eyes. There were tears in her eyes.

"Arjun", she said before hugging me.

"Nightmare?"

"It was j-just that I saw you lying on the floor, lif-lifeless and then those two men", and she burst out crying. I hugged her and rubbed her back as I whispered sweet nothings in her ear.

Those two men!

I will have their heads for doing something like this.

After a while I heard her soft snores indicating that she had fallen asleep.

Tanvi's P.O.V.

"Diwali is in two weeks!", Sonia squeals. I'm happy yet a part of me feels sad. This is the first Diwali away from my family. Even though it wasn't much of a thing for me, but I still enjoyed being there.

We were all busy preparing for Diwali. Doing shopping. Cleaning the house. Decorating it. Everything was fun. Just that Aradhya or that bitch was here too with her mother. They'll be staying here until Diwali. Just when I thought my days were getting better with Arjun, she had to come.

I was currently making dinner for everyone. I know I didn't have to make it but I just volunteered. After making dinner, I didn't want to eat much so I saved some food aside for Arjun and me. My body was aching and I knew I would soon get my periods. It was also the fact that I've been helping mom a lot because Sonia can't do it and that bitch and her mother are always in their room or in the living room and they'd do anything but help with the miscellaneous work.

I went to the room to rest for half an hour. The maids told me they would do all the cleaning work. Those maids are really good. They are always so helpful and kind.

I then fall asleep due to the exhaustion.

I walk in the kitchen and hear some rattling. When I see, I come face to face with Aradhya and a feeling of déjà vu overcomes me. She was putting the vessels in the dishwasher. I heard she ate a lot today.

Wow! This girl sure is something because when I eat a little more, I gain weight and if I would've eaten as much as her, I would've surely gained over 5 kgs.

I ignored her and went over to take some food for me. I made some Dal, rice, chapati and paneer(cottage cheese). It surely did smell amazing. As I was walking out of the kitchen, Aradhya stopped me by taking hold of my hand and spinning me around.

"You think you have him? You really think he loves you?"

"Umm..."

"Well think again Tanvi because I know he doesn't, I remember how he spoke about you when you had left him four years ago", my heart fluttered at the fact that he spoke about me to someone.

"He spoke about how much he hated you and loathed you and how you were just a bad phase", my grip on the plate tightened as I could see my knuckles grow white.

"Stop it! Why are you even doing this?"

"Because you stole him away and I'm going to do everything in my will to take him back", and just then I heard the front door open. I started moving over towards the dining room and suddenly all the contents of the plate were on me. Some of the splatters were on Aradhya and she screeched.

Arjun came running into the kitchen and asked about what happened. Ah! I could see the fake tears in her eyes and already knew that something bad is going to happen between Arjun and me.

"Arjun! Look at what your wife did, I told her that I'll take food for you and bring it to the dining room and she got angry and started telling me how she is the wife and she should do everything and started accusing me of petty things, when I told her that I was doing it only as a friend, she got angry and told me that you and Tanvi are going to eat together today but when I told her that she has already eaten the food and she should save some for you and tried to snatch the plate and in that process all the food went for a waste",she said with a few tears rolling down her cheeks.

His eyes showed how angry he was. Well then, he's bought all the bullshit Aradhya fed him. I hung my head low as I kept my eyes closed. I knew something like this would happen. I just fucking hate her so much.

"How petty can you be Tanvi? In the end you got food splattered on you! And so what if she was about to get food for me?"

When I looked at him, behind him I could see the maids with a frown on their faces. They clearly saw everything.

"Sir, Tanvi ma'am di-"

"No, it's ok, and I'm sorry", I say before leaving the kitchen and going to the room. I immediately take a shower to remove the bits of food from my hair. When I walk out of the bathroom fully clothed, I see him sitting on the bed with his arms crossed. I ignored him and make my way towards the vanity table and start brushing my hair.

Everytime because of Aradhya, we fight. It kills me to fight with him but he just never listens to me. He buys up all the lies she spews. How can he trust her so much? Why does he trust her so much?

"What you did was wrong and I want you to apologize to Aradhya!", He finally spoke up. With the speed that my head turned around, I was lucky it didn't snap. I narrowed my eyes at him.

"If you think that's ever going to happen, then you're dumb, and you don't know half of the thing that happened!"

"Well then forget that I'm ever talking to you and if I don't know do tell me!"

I just shake my head and stand up.

"It just hurts me, how much you trust her and how easily you buy her lies", I say. He sighs before walking over to me. Taking hold of my hand, he turns me around.

"Well then tell me... Please"

And then I narrate to him to whole incident, not exactly the whole but yeah most of it. I skip the part about how she'll get him back.

He gets really furious at her but when I tell him it's ok and that it'll be a bad decision to do anything when he's angry he calms down a bit and starts apologising profusely to me before calling out for a maid and asking her to prepare something for the both of us because we both didn't eat anything as yet.

"D-did you really hate me when I had left you?" I ask him after we're finally settled on the bed.
