Kalli's POV

I had been in captivity for what felt like forever but my captor Lucifer tells me it has been four days. I have not given up hope that Zicko will find me. I had kept my composure in the face of torture but my mentality was quickly breaking down. They had started off easy and rapidly got more intense. I am still in the hole the put me in and it was becoming my safe haven.

Flashback

I was dreaming of Zicko and how much I missed him. He was holding me in his arms and I felt his warmth surround me in a protective way. But it didn't last very long. Lucifer yanked me out of the hole by my hair and continued to drag me. There was a chair set up next to a platform. Some men were gathered around and were grinning at the sorry display I was in. None of them looked friendly or like they had a conscience. I started to fear what was going to happen to me. Lucifer continued to drag me up to the platform and then dropped me there. I tried to sit up but a boot came down on my back, and forcibly pushed me back down. I winced and tried to block the pain. He motioned to one of the men and they came closer. He asked for something that I didn't catch. The boot lifts off my back and I take in a breath. Lucifer flips me over and I see the glint of metal. He brings the knife closer and gives me a cut along my collar bone, it stings and the cut becomes warm as the blood flows out. I feel tears gather in my eyes but I chock them back. He repeats the same cut and I pass out from the pain.

End of Flashback

The next few days I got beatings and more cuts. They planned to scar some of the wounds so that I would be undesirable when Zicko came. I had bruises and cuts on any exposed flesh and thankfully they didn't do anything worse to me. They made no advances to do anything sexually and I was grateful. I kept quiet and hide my pain, for the most part. I knew my eyes showed the pain I felt and they saw the faces I made when they beat me. The only thing keeping my head above water was the fact that they will never break me, I will escape and make sure they pay for this.

"Morning. Welcome to day five of torture. The plan is for you to beg me to stop. Oh and did I mention that if you don't then you will be hung by your ankles for the next 24 hours." Lucifer states.

I have no fear of that but I wonder why he is doing this meaningless torture, there must be something that he wants.

"Why are you doing this? Is there something I or Zicko did to you?"

"I love that you think you have any right to question me but I will tell you one thing. I hate the Empire Union and will do anything to see it fall. I like disorder and believe scum like you should be under our rule. Us dragons were once prosperous and didn't have to fear you, now we hide. All Zicko will do is stand by and see that the humans and dragons stay separate and unknowing of each other. He even wants to make a country for us to be apart from the humans and live without being cautious of you seeing us."

He is worked up now and looks like he will hurt me more for reminding him of the faults in the world. So not only does he hate me but Zicko as well for succumbing to the humans. He grabs my arm and hauls me out of the hole. I almost scream in pain but manage to let out only a groan. He smiles maliciously and drags me to a room I have never seen before. This room was dark, like the kind of dark that you can'y see 1 centimeter in front of your face. I was okay with the dark but I couldn't see what was going to happen to me now. I am thrown to the floor and hear the boot steps get further away from me. A door opens and it is dead silent. I wait for a while before a door is opened again and footsteps are heard. I curl into myself and await whatever punishment is next. The boots stop right in front of me and I wait. I feel hands reach out and restrain me, I am defenseless.

"What is your name?" A female voice says

"Kalli Allen. Why do you need to know that?"

"I was sent by Zicko to come and get you. You are safe now but you need to play along in order for me to get you out. I won't hurt you and you need to be quiet. I already sent word to Zicko but we need to hide until he gets here."

I nod in compliance and she picks me up.

"Do you know of anyplace to hide?"

"No. But I think we could find someplace where they don't go as often." I say

She looks both ways in the hallway and goes to the left. She sniffs around and pulls me into a room.

"There are fewer scents of them in here so I thought it would be safer. I know that you have survived a lot these five days, but save me some peace by opening up to Zicko with your mental bond."

What the hell is a mental bond? She says it like I would know all about how to do this.

"How am I supposed to do that?"

"Close your eyes and think of him. Then when you hear his voice you can talk to him in your mind, let him know you are ok."

I do as she says and close my eyes.

Zicko? I miss you.

I miss you too. I am so happy to hear from you. Soon I will be with you, just stay safe until I come okay? I don't want to lose you.

I promise.

He sends warmth through our link and I smile. I finally have peace knowing that he is coming for me. But I hear footsteps fast approaching and I fear they will come into this room. The woman takes my arm and throws me into the closet.

"Wait in here. If you hear something in the room do not come out. I am expendible and you arn't. Please don't do anything stupid."

She closes the door and not two minutes later the door to the room outside is thrown open.

"Where is she and I will consider not killing you." it is Lucifer's voice.

"I won't tell you anything. So feel free to kill me."

I hear her scream and then she is silent. Lucifer gets up and walks to the closet. He opens the door and I cower back away from him.

"You made a bad mistake. Now you will pay for it."

He hits me on the back of the head and I black out. The last thing I do is send an urgency message to Zicko. I just hope he gets here in time.
