Enway's POV

When Mattea was dumped in front of the group we all laughed. She smiled and stood up. Jupei was wearing only his boxers and they were wet from our pool. Maddie tapped me on the shoulder.

"Why is he wet?"

"They went swimming upstairs and I'm guessing that she took his clothes." I say.

"Can we go swimming?" She asks.

I nod my head yes and she runs upstairs. None of them have spare clothes here but I guess she could wear some of mine. I followed up the stairs but not before Zicko stopped me.

"I know that all of us are getting really attached I just wanted to gather where you are with Maddie. Jupei and Mattea seem like they are getting really close as well as Morgan and Amkay."

He must be talking about finishing the bonds with our mates. I could feel my instincts wanting to take over but I didn't want to scare away Maddie just yet. I wanted to be slow and know more about her before I completed the bond. If she even accepts me.

"No I planned on going slow before we took our relationship all the way. What about you?" I ask.

"Well last night Kalli asked me to make her forget but I didn't want to take advantage of her frail state. In stead we just kissed but it got really heated and I ended it. She told me about what happened and I held her for the rest of the night. She's been through too much and I know she has accepted me and the bond but I don't want to push any of the girls too fast. They need to know what they are getting into before they decide to be with us." He says.

I nod and go up the steps. Maddie is already in the pool. She was wearing her underclothes and it was the first time I had seen her with such little clothes on. My eyes were rounded and I felt my heartbeat pick up. She was swimming laps and had not seen me standing here. She stopped and looked at me standing here just watching.

"Aren't you coming in. Or did you just want to watch me."

She smiles and pulls herself up from the water. The droplets slowly travel down her body and I watch mesmerized. She comes forward and I gulp. She is really testing my control and Zeikiel pours out my dragon fire. Steam is coming off me in waves and I notice her feeling it too. She now stands in front of me and reaches out slowly. Her hands lightly land on my chest and I feel my breath whoosh out. She travels down to the bottom of my shirt. She lifts it up and over my head. I am looking into her eyes and she gives me a sultry look. I have never seen her so bold before and I like it. She throws my shirt by her pile and puts her hands on my abdomen. She goes lower and by now the heat is so strong that there is steam rising from the pool. She unbuttons my shorts and reaches for the zipper. In my head I am thinking of anything else otherwise I would get too excited by this performance. She pulls them down and then runs back into the pool. The little tease, I am still shocked and haven't moved yet. Then suddenly I move and dive into the pool. I stay under the water and go towards her. I can tell she is looking for me but she can't find me. I grab her waist and come up taking her with me. She gasps but pus her hands on my shoulders. She leans her head down and kisses me. I smile against her lips, she makes me feel whole and happy. When we pull away she rests her head on my chest.

Maddie's POV

I can hear his heart and know that mine is beating just as fast. I felt emotions with Enway that I was unsure how to share. For the few weeks I have known him I already know that I love him. But we were getting closer to something like forever. I felt that he had something he wanted to tell me but was patient to wait.

"Can I tell you something?" I ask.

He nods his head, still content with me in his arms.

"I love you and I want to live with you." I say.

He squeezes me closer and I look up into his face.

"Aren't you sure. I just want you to know that if you stay I will never be able to let you go. I have come to love you and if you left I would never survive it. But bonding to me means that you live a longer life and with only me and the other dragons by your side." He says, his voice strained.

"I couldn't live without you to keep me company. I don't care about anything else so long as I keep you by my side."

At my statement he smiles brightly and let's out a roar of happiness that I assumed was from his dragon. I heard someone run in and looked to see the guys come through the door. They saw no danger but looked at Enway for an explination. He just smiled sheepishly and looked back down at me.

"I have something to tell you about."

He looked back towards the door to make sure no one was there. Then continued.

"See this tattoo, it marks me as the next leader of my clan. I go back tomorrow in order to do the ritual and I was wondering if you wanted to go with me." He asks.

"I would love to, one question though. Why is your tattoo colored differently than Jupei's?"

"Mine signifies that I have black blood. Which isn't as powerful as Jupei's but it controls the night elements. Since black blood is powerful I can still rule."

I was still a little confused about the blood color so he showed me more gruesomely what he meant. He took out a small pocket knife and pricked his finger. Now normally if I were to do that then red blood would appear but with Enway it was black just like he said it would be.

"So are there other colors? What color do the others have?"

He told me about the colors and what they are good for and how they stand within the dragon community.

"So I'll start with the lowest blood color within our group, which is me. Black blood isn't the lowest over all but compared to the others I am weaker. Finax has white blood and is the opposite of me. Technically white and black bloods are equal on our scale but rivalries still exist. Then Amkay has silver and Jupei as well. Zicko is the highest with gold blood, and he has the most power. In dragon society however, we condone any degrading based on blood color since each color is vital to how our communities work. Not all powerful dragons can live on the Earth or we would destroy everything around us in a shoe of superiority."

I was starting to get what he was saying but I guess you just had to be a dragon in order to understand different blood color and the powers it comes with. He turns to show me his tattoo which covers most of his back and a little further down into his boxers. Upon further inspection smaller dragons made up the bigger one. He tells me that they are the previous leaders and that tomorrow his dragon will be inked on him. I start to get excited for seeing the ceremony tomorrow and just hope to get sleep. But right now I wanted to have his full attention and be in his arms. I know that tomorrow he will be too busy.

3 hours later...

We are sitting on the couch watching a movie. It was a little kids movie and we were cuddled together. At some point during the night he falls asleep and lands on my lap. I smile down at his relaxed face. A few strands of his orange hair fall over his eyes. I lightly brush them aside when he moans and says something.

"... love... Maddie... please... stay...."

He moans again and frowns adorably. I place my fingers there and massage it away. He turns on his side and wraps his arms around my waist.

"Love... forever... protect... life... no... leave.... Just be mine."

Then he drifts into a deeper sleep and says nothing else.

"I am grateful for your love and protection. I will offer the same should I ever need to. No one will take you away from me, my sweet dragon mate."

He smiles softly as is he hears me. Before long I am asleep and dream of him and our future. Thankfully he can't read minds!
