Enway's POV

I slowly wake up. I feel like I am being dragged out of my sleep. Then I come crashing to a hard surface. My eyes shoot open to see that I fell on the floor and have slept downstairs. Upon further perusal I find that Maddie is asleep on the couch with her head resting on the back. I wince because I know her neck will be sore when she wakes up. I must have fallen asleep on her or she would have gone to bed upstairs. She looks blissful right now, but I have to wake her up. Today I go back to my village. It has been 5 years since I have gone back. The old leader will be stepping down today and I will take his place.

"Hey Enway. What are you doing down here?" Finax asks.

I put a finger to my lips in a gesture to tell him quiet and point to Maddie.

"Do me a favor and wake her up at 9:30 so she has time to get ready. I'm going to take a shower." I whisper to him.

He nods and goes into the kitchen. I stretch and stand up, when I feel a hand on my wrist. I follow it to Maddie and see she is starting to wake up. She gives me a smile and wipes her eyes. Just looking at the act makes my heart flutter, I lean in and kiss her lips softly.

"Good morning, are you ready for today?" I ask.

She nods and starts to get up. I move back a little to give her more space. When she is standing she wraps her hands around me. I do the same and whisper in her ear.

"I am going to get ready. Care to join me?" I ask.

She raises her eyebrows at me question.

"N-not like that. I just meant packing." I stumble.

She laughs and grabs my hand pulling me upstairs. She releases my hand and walks to her room. I go into mine a start packing.

1 hour later...

We stand on the platform and wave goodbye to the others and we take off. Maddie sits on my back and I navigate the sky as I fly towards my home. The ride won't be long even though I have to fly to Australia. I will only be flying for two hours and part of it will be through a portal that brings us to Australia.

2 hours later...

I can see my home and lessen my speed. Maddie had fallen asleep during the ride and I had to slow down to keep her steady. I land in the town center and see some people come out. Maddie wakes up and she looks around at the people. I see my parents run over to me and that's when they notice Maddie on my back. My mom starts crying and my dad looks proud of me. I turn to Maddie and speak softly in her mind to slide of me. She nods and slides down, when she is secure I shift back to human form and look at my family. They walk towards us and my mother smothers me in a hug.

"It's been too long Ewa. Five years and now you have a mate to keep you away from us even longer."

I should probably explain. My brother Weston couldn't say my name so he said Ewa instead. Since my brother has died my parents have felt lonely but they adopted another boy when I told them I would be leaving. They have wanted me to be happy for so long and are proud for me to have a mate but they don't like that I stay away for years without contact. I am released from her arms and my dad does the same.

"I've missed you so much Ewa. Don't wait five years before we see you again. Your mother might just get another kid. Your mate is amazing and I couldn't be happier that you found someone."

I smile and step back. I feel a tug on my shirt and look down. I smile seeing my brother looking up at me. I bend down and lift him up.

"Ewa! Where were you?" Delek asked.

My brother is only 5 years old and the last time I saw him was when he was three. I hated leaving them but my friends and I are the next leaders and we are trying to gain information about the two dark clans that are still around. He pokes my cheek and I look back down at him. He giggles and tries to squirm out of my arms. I put him down and he runs over to Maddie. She crouches down and Delek reaches out his hand.

"Who are you?" he asks.

"My name is Maddie. And you are?"

"I am Ewa's brother. My names Delek."

Maddie smiles and looks at me. I smile back at her and sneak up on my brother. He doesn't know that I am behind him and I quickly grab him and run around with him shrieking in my arms. All of a sudden Maddie jumps on my back and wraps her arms around my shoulders in a attack. The shock of her jumping on my almost topples us over. Delek wriggles out of my hands and runs off to my parents.

"Thank you Maddie." shouts Delek.

Maddie is still clinging to me and I decide to go after her now. I quickly flip her over my head and place her in front of me. She gives me a devilish smile and runs off.

Maddie's POV

I was thinking it would be fun to play with him and after he had flipped me over his head. I don't know the layout of this village but I veered off towards the woods. I could hear laughter behind me and the sound of someone else running after me. By the time I reached the woods Enway was no where behind me, but that didn't make me slow down. In fact I just kept running thinking of places to hide.

Sylar's POV

I am sitting in a tree quietly reading a new text sent from my second in command that tells me my target is approaching the area. I tense my muscles and am ready to pounce at any minute. I can hear her running through the woods and I jump down.

"Fuck!" she screams.

I am taken aback for a precious few seconds and then I reach out to grab her. She slaps my hands away. I get a little frustrated and try again. But yet again she just evades my grasp. She backs up and starts to run away but I catch her before she gets too far. She screams out and I cover her mouth but she just bites me. Now I am screaming in pain. This attracts Enway to where we are.

"Let her go NOW!" He shouts.

"I have to do this." I reply calmly.

Maybe I should alert my second in command to what is going on. I pull out my phone but I am pushed to the ground by the girl and my phone falls away from me. But that is the least of my worries now that Enway has me pinned to the ground and is calling in reinforcements. I rest my head back on the ground and think about the consequences of what will happen when I don't return to my village.

"So this is how it will go down. You tell us what we want to know and you won't die today." Enway says.

"Just today?" I say sarcastically.

He doesn't say anything and just grabs my shirt to drag me away. I am dragged through the roughest path that there is back to the village

When he stops I see a building that without windows and there are two other people standing outside. One is Zicko the other is his mate Kalli. Zicko is glaring daggers at me and I know that the next couple of hours will be painful.
