“I’m feeling much better now,” she responded calmly.

“Good. I’ve asked the bodyguard to get some food. After you eat, have a good rest,” Joey advised.

“Alright.”

Ten hours later, Mike and Elijah returned to the country. The moon was high in the sky, and the stars were twinkling brightly.

Joey was waiting for them at the airport.

Elijah asked Joey to drive Mike home. Joey, grabbing Mike’s arm, ushered him into the car. Mike wore a puzzled expression. “Why is Elijah suddenly being so nice to me? It’s a bit strange.”

Joey said, “Stop overthinking! It’s late and he has his own bodyguard.”

Finishing his sentence, Joey climbed into the driver’s seat and headed towards Silverleaf Ridge.

Mike asked, “Didn’t you say Violette was in the hospital? I should go and see her first.”
