Violette’s cheeks flushed. “Since when did I say I was getting back together with him?”

“Just now! You were just saying he’s done so much for you, and you want to take him out for dinner. You even want to buy him presents... You’re so obviously smitten.” Odette tutted, “Don’t disregard my advice. I’m good at reading people. This Nora, she might look innocent, but she’s definitely up there with Sarah!”

Violette mulled it over for a few seconds, and then said, “But she doesn’t have any leverage.”

“Leverage can be created. As long as she’s still scheming, you’ll be her biggest enemy. She and Melinda will definitely join forces against you.”

Odette peeled off her face mask. “Elijah is like a juicy steak. Everybody wants a bite. Violette, always expect the unexpected!”

Violette felt a lot calmer after hearing her words.

“Not only do we need to get Elijah to fire Nora, but we need to get rid of Melinda too!” Odette was hatching a plan, “If you’re too embarrassed to tell him yourself, then I’ll do it!”

“Odette! Things between him and me haven’t reached that point...” Violette hastily intervened.

“Fair enough, but think about what I said earlier,” Odette advised. “Also, I heard that Brandon used to like Melinda. So, Brandon is definitely on Melinda’s side.”

Thinking about all the obstacles between herself and Elijah, Violette’s motivation disappeared. “Odette, I was too impulsive earlier. I’ll deal with things between him and me once the baby is born!”

“That works too. Your first priority right now is to have a healthy baby.” Odette chuckled, “Are you busy tomorrow? If you’re free, I’ll come over.”

Violette relaxed, “I’m not busy. Mike doesn’t really let me get involved in the business. He’s been pulling all-nighters recently. I’m worried about his health.”

“He’s got Joey, so you don’t need to worry about him.” Odette glanced at the time. “Violette, it’s getting late. You should get some rest and go to bed early!”

Violette chuckled at the text and dialed Odette’s number. The text was a bit humorous. If there was a surprise, why would Odette mention it in the text?

Odette wasn’t that dumb. Was she trying to play a prank on Violette?

When she dialed the number, Odette hung up immediately. Violette stared at the disconnected call. Suddenly, a text came in. It was from Odette:

[Violette, I’ll only wait for you until five o’clock! If you’re not here by then, the surprise will be gone!]

Violette laughed helplessly at the text, grabbed her bag and headed to the Caesar’s Palace.

At six in the evening, Brandon and Melinda appeared at Caesar’s Palace.

Melinda had a social event that evening, and she wasn’t feeling well so she asked Brandon to help her out.

Halfway through the event, Melinda was tipsy and staggered towards the restroom. Brandon quickly followed her. “Melinda, I’ll have the driver take you home first. I’ll handle things here.”

Melinda nodded. Her face was pale.

As they passed a private room, they heard the sound of a man and a woman giggling intimately.

“... Elijah doesn’t understand what women want. If it weren’t for his money, I would’ve dumped him a long time ago! Only when I’m with you do I feel like a complete woman!”

That voice was unmistakably Violette’s!
