Chapter 1053 - What I Really Want?
Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband
These are two chapters together but I didnât have time to separate them in two.
-----
Lu Lijun and Liwei went to where everyone stood.
"Where were you?" Ning Jiahui asked.
"To get a gift for grandpa and grandma," Lu Lijun answered.
Hearing it, no one had anything to say as it was a sweet gesture by the young man.
Liwei greeted everyone, and Lu Lijun answered the unspoken question from his and Liweiâs parents, "Liwei was with me."
This young guy didnât care what others would say as he liked to do what he wished.
"Letâs cut the cake," Lu Chen said, diverting everyoneâs attention.
The elders cut the cake, and everyone wished them. Everyone gifted something to the elderly couple.
When it was Lu Lijunâs turn, he looked at Liwei, who stood beside him, "Letâs go."
She looked at him questioningly, and he signaled her looking at the bag in her hand.
"Ahh, I forgot," she handed him over the bag.
He didnât take it from her, "You are coming too," and stepped towards his grandparents.
Liwei had no option but to follow him with the tiny decorative bag while the others noticed it.
They went to the grandparents, and Liwei gave that bag to Lu Lijun.
Elders accepted the gift.
"What was the need?" said grandma, looking at her adorable grandson.
"But I wanted to," Lu Lijun said.
Grandma held Lu Lijunâs hand as she caressed it, "All I want you to be happy always."
"Iâm happy, grandma," said Lu Lijun as he added, "Wonât you open it, grandma?"
Smiling, the elders nodded and opened the finely decorative wooden box. It had two couple jade bracelets that had rare stones.
"Itâs pretty," Grandma said, and the elder Lu agreed.
"Liwei helped to select them," Lu Lijun informed.
Grandma smiled at her, "Thank you."
Everyone could see the two young people get along really well. Once they talked with elders, Liwei went to her parents while Lu Lijun went to his friends and brothers.
When Liwei went to her mother, she asked, "You didnât tell you went with Lu Lijun."
"I was with friends, but he called me suddenly, so I didnât get a chance to inform," Liwei explained.
Lu Lijun looked at Jiang Yuyan, who sat quietly around one table where Jiang Yang accompanied her.
Though he was talking to others, his eyes were seeking for Jiang Yuyan that his friends didnât fail to notice.
Jake and Noah excused themselves and took Lu Lijun aside.
"What was that?" Noah asked.
"What?" Lu Lijun asked nonchalantly.
"Arenât you giving the girl a wrong idea?" Jake spoke.
"Not just the girl, but to her and your family too," Noah added.
"You two, stop thinking more," Lu Lijun countered.
--------
When Lu Feng and An Tian were left alone, An Tian spoke, "This kid is up to something."
Lu Feng looked at his brother, who was with his friends, and spoke, "Iâm sure itâs nothing good."
"Xiao Min told me he had an argument with Yuyan, and it went serious," Lu Feng informed.
"It was supposed to happen one day," An Tain added.
"What to do?" Lu Feng asked.
"You canât go to him and tell him directly when he himself is not aware of it. Even if you say it and later he thought it was not the case and his brother led him in the wrong way, it would be even worse."
"I donât know what to do?"
"You donât need to do anything. Everyone is responsible for their own lives, and others have no right to make them realize anything. Itâs always good if a person learns on their own, even if it takes a worse twist and turns. You canât always act as a god for others. Let them suffer and learn and make decisions. One needs to find answers on their own to make it worth later."
"True, but I canât stop worrying."
An Tian had a sip of wine and calmly asked, "Why do you think kids throw tantrums?"
"To get what they want," Lu Feng answered.
"And to get attention," An Tian added.
Lu Feng gave him a meaningful look, to which An Tian smiled and nodded lightly.
"We should not snatch away that kidsâ chance to do what he wants. Itâs also an important way to learn and realize things."
-------
Jiang Yang was alone with his sister, and finally, it was the time he could talk to her.
"Are you hiding anything from me?" Jiang Yang asked.
Jiang Yuyan shook her head and said, "I canât tell you secret things in business."
"Iâm not interested in your business. Iâm talking about you only."
"I can still break bones nicely," she said.
Jiang Yang sighed, "Come to the hospital when you are free."
"Iâm not free," she countered.
Jiang Yang knew there was no use, "Donât worry, I have my ways," and changed the topic, "Whatâs going on with Lu Lijun?"
"Nothing," she replied.
"Who is that girl?"
"Mr. Wenâs daughter."
"Seems like something is going on," Jiang Yang commented.
"Why donât you go and ask him?" Jiang Yuyan said calmly, as if it didnât concern her.
"Is he up to troubling you?" Jiang Yang asked.
"Doesnât your sister deserve to get troubled?" Jiang Yuyan asked.
"You did what was needed," Jiang Yang said.
"But, now itâs time to pay for it," she added.
"Stay strong. I know how much you care for him. If he troubles you more....."
"Donât worry, brother. Whatever he does, I can never stop correcting him and do whatâs good for him."
"Seems like Wenâs are interested in him. Are you not happy about it?" Jiang Yang asked.
"Itâs fine if he genuinely wants to do it, but he is just doing to oppose my decision. He will just hurt the innocent girl,"
"Then donât oppose, so he might give up."
"He wonât. He knows it well that the last thing I would want is not to let him be an enemy of Wens, and Iâll do anything to stop him. Lu Lijun is smart to understand all these things. Mr. Wen loves his daughter, and he would never accept any harm to her. Mr. Wen can create trouble for Lu Lijun when he would be president when I want everything to go nicely."
"So Lu Lijun is doing it intentionally just to get back at you?"
"You can say that."
"That kid. Should I pull his ears and get some sense into him?"
"He is sensible but just wants to act stubborn. Let him be."
------------
The party was over when everyone was ready to return to their homes. Not a single moment was there when Lu Lian talked or even looked at Ming Rusheng while she smiled and talked to everyone.
Ming Rusheng was silent too and talked about how much others asked.
"Why are you silent today," Wen Zac asked.
"Iâm always like this," Ming Rusheng replied while going towards the car with Wen zac.
Just then heard Lu Jinhai, "Lu Lian, see off Wen Zac."
She nodded and went to Wen Zac, from where they walked towards the car together while Ming Rusheng went to his car.
"You donât need to but our parents..." Wen zac said while walking with Lu Lian.
"I know, but itâs fine. After all, you are our guest," she countered, smiling lightly.
While talking to Wen Zac, she didnât look uncomfortable at all, and Ming Rusheng noticed it.
âDoes she already like him?â he thought and started the car. Not waiting for anyone, he left in a hurry, not willing to get the bitter taste in his mouth.
------------
On the way home, Mr. Wen asked his daughter, "You and Lu Lijun,...."
"Father, there is nothing. He just needed my help to get a gift," Liwei interrupted her father, knowing what he would say.
-----------
When Lu Jinhai talked to Jiang Yuyan about something, Lu Lijun passed by from there.
"Lu Lijun," Lu Jinhai called.
Lu Lijun went there but didnât look at Jiang Yuyan as if she didnât exist, "Yes, father."
Lu Jinhai hesitated for a moment and asked, "Liwei and you."
Lu Lijun stared at his father to know what he wanted to say.
"I mean, is there something going on?"n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"You mean do I like her?" Lu Lijun asked.
"Hmm."
"She is a nice girl. There is nothing to dislike about her," Lu Lijun replied. "I would say she is the only woman Iâm comfortable with other than my sisters."
"Itâs good, but do it only if you want to take it further. Mr. Wen expects you to marry her and if you donât intend to do it, then just stop."
"Can Mr. Wen be a trouble?" Lu Lijun asked though he knew the answer.
"He is a good man and my good friend, but he wonât sit back if you mess up with his kids," Lu Jinhai answered.
"So all this discussion is only considering the business, and nothing is about me," Lu Lijun concluded.
"Itâs not like that," Lu Jinhai said.
Before he could talk more, the butler came and informed elder Lu asked for him.
"We will talk later," saying Lu Jinhai left.
Lu Lijun looked at Jiang Yuyan, "Does president Lu have something to say?"
"Itâs considering you and your future," she spoke.
"And what kind of future? The one which President Lu has decided for me? How come I donât know what my future is like?"
"Then decide for yourself," she said.
"Thatâs what Iâm doing, but President Lu is not happy about it because itâs not what she planned for me."
"What do you want to do then?" she asked.
"Are you asking me what kind of future I want?"
"Hmm."
He chuckled, and just like before, he stepped closer to her, "Do you really want to know?"
Jiang Yuyan could remember the same look on his face and in his eyes when he acted the same when they were in the corridor. This Lu Lijun looked different from the one she knew before. He looked changed and scary.
"Say it," she said, trying to be calm.
"In my future, I want each and everything that belongs to me" he paused and continued staring into her eyes, "Do you know what exactly belongs to me that I want?"
"What do you want?" she asked.
"You," he replied, his sight looked intense as if his eyes wanted to tell her something more.
