Chapter 1138 - Future Kids
Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband
Leaving Jiang Yuyanâs office, Lu Lijun straightaway went to the rooftop by stairs instead of going to his office. He had so many things in his mind that he needed to go out somewhere to relax in the fresh air.
Xiao Min and Noah were discussing something while standing in the reception area when the two saw Lu Lijun. The way Lu Lijun left, the two understood something had happened.
The two stopped what they were doing, and without a word, both went to their bosses. Xiao Min hurried to the Presidentâs office while Noah went to the rooftop way. The two receptionists were worried to think what had happened now.
Xiao Min knocked on the door and opened it. He saw Jiang Yuyan standing by the window while facing her back at him.
When Jiang Yuyan heard the knock on the door, she immediately got back to her senses and turned to face the window.
Xiao Min stepped ahead and stood near her work table.
"Boss!" He called for her worriedly, and not being able to see her face made him anxious.
"Do we have any meetings?" Jiang Yuyan asked.
"No, boss," he replied.
"Then leave me alone for a while," she instructed.
"Boss, did something happen?" he asked.
"Hmm!"
"May I know what?" Xiao Min was all ears, being ready to share his bossâs worry.
"The cat across that road just gave birth to cute little kittens." Came the calm and savage reply from the cold boss.
Cough!
Xiao Min understood he should not ask anything. "Iâll take a leave."
-----
Noah went to the rooftop where he saw Lu Lijun standing quietly near the par.a.p.et wall, looking ahead blankly as the silent breeze played with his hair.
He looked unusually calm as if something troubled him and looked lost again.
Noah stood beside him and asked, "What happened? Did you fight with president Lu?"
"Then?"
"Sometimes, I wonder if I should envy my elder brother?" Lu Lijun replied.
"Why?" Noah asked.
"Even after so many years when he is not with her, she still loves him the same while I can only expect her to look at me at least once as a man in her life."
Noah couldnât comment anything about it, but he put his hand on Lu Lijunâs shoulder to console him.
"I am equally sad that he left, and I am still hurt to think why he had to leave us. I wish he was still with me. I miss him, and I know she does it too and must cry every day for him." Lu Lijun became emotional. "If he was alive, things wouldnât be messy like these. But as it came to this, I canât help but be greedy for her. I canât help but to want her to think about me and love me."
"It will take time," Noah commented.
"I know, but my heart canât stop being impatient and greedy," Lu Lijun commented. "Most of the time, I feel like she will leave me one day, and to hold her back, I need to try everything I can. I donât hesitate to get closer to her even if she doesnât want it. I canât understand what to do and end up doing something that is against her will."
Noah could understand what his friend meant and could only hear him out. However, he trusted Lu Lijun at least this much that he would not do something to spoil everything.
"Today, I was scared to think she would not think about me at all. So not to let it happen... I did it again.....I became greedier than I should be... I wanted to..." Lu Lijun couldnât say anything further and closed his eyes. "I canât bear to think that she wouldnât think about me at all."
"Happens, but I know you will be patient," said Noah.
Lu Lijun looked at Noah. "Noah!"
"Huh?" Noah looked back at him.
"How did you manage to get through it? Years have passed by since, but it still must hurt you a lot," Lu Lijun asked.
Noah gave him a look as if he didnât get what Lu Lijun meant and chuckled. "What are you talking about, man? I am absolutely fine."
"You know what I mean, Noah," Lu Lijun gave him a serious look as if saying, âIâm not buying your ignorance and lies.â
Noah averted his sight from Lu Lijun and looked ahead as he looked serious and hurt with some old memories. "Canât you see what I have turned into? I wish you wonât be like me, Lijun."
"You know things have changed, and you still...."
"I donât want to," Noah interrupted Lu Lijun.
Though Noah tried to look calm and cool, his eyes couldnât hide he was hurt.
Noah cleared his throat and said, "By the way, tell me one thing."
"What?" Lu Lijun asked.
"If your brother was still alive, and that means president Lu would still be his wife, so who would you have fallen for."
"Donât know."
"Liwei seems the best option as she could keep up with your stubbornness."
Lu Lijun nodded. "She is a good person."
That means you agree she had a complete chance of being Mrs. Lu Lijun."
"Hmm," Lu Lijun agreed. "I feel bad for hurting her and still couldnât get to see her."
"Her stubborn father, huh?" Noah asked.
Lu Lijun nodded. "He is right at his place. I would have been even worse if someone had hurt my daughter."
Noah looked at Lu Lijun. "Woh, married man, take it slow. You are already planning to have kids when their mother still doesnât consider you as their father," Noah teased.
It brought a smile to Lu Lijunâs lips. "She has to consider me sooner or later for the sake of her future kids."
Noah gave a tight pat on the back of Lu Lijunâs shoulder and exclaimed cheerfully. "Thatâs like my boy, always so confident, and you were worried for nothing a while ago."
Lu Lijun agreed and said, "Letâs work. Need to win the project so I can bring my wife back home."
"Yes, boss!" said Noah as the two finally went to Lu Lijunâs office.
