Chapter 19: Sunsets

Athena's P.O.V

I feel a slight pain in my head as I slowly open my eyes. I feel heavy I then begin to remember what happened as my eyes burst open to see that I'm in a room with Diann lying right next to me. "Dianne! Wake up!" I say as I jump to her side. Feeling tears build up as she slowly gains consciousness. "w-where are we" she says as I help her get up... "I don't know but I have a bad feeling"

As Diane and I try to search for a way out the door slowly opens. My heart pounds against my chest as I feel fear creep upon my body.

"We hope you enjoyed your ride," Noah says as he looks directly at me. "You two won't be going anywhere so theirs no point in trying to escape. But if you get any bright ideas... Your baby dies" Alex says as he looks at Diane.

Diane gasped as she begins to cry. I'm suddenly pulled out of my thoughts as I'm being roughly grabbed, I scream as I'm being pulled out of the room hearing Diane scream.

Now it's Noah and I all alone... fear... anger... is all I could feel my eyes instantly fall on the gun in his head. My breath hitches as he places it on a table behind him.

"I know what happened in the past is difficult, but we can move past it now. Start a new life and have our own family" he says as he moves closer to me.

"Fuck you," I say as I instantly feel a burn on my cheek

"You ungrateful b*tch ill teach you what a real manner are"

I begin to back away as I feel the wall about to touch my back. I then let out a scream as he lunges for me. I instantly try to grab anything near me, luckily my hand lands on a vase as I grab it and smash it to his head causing him to fall to the floor. He'll be down but not for long. I instantly grab the gun on the table and run out of the room in the direction of the screams. I burst through the door to see Alex about to punch Diane in the stomach I let out a scream as I shot him in the leg. he yells in pain as Diane scurries away from him he turns to me "You B*tch I'm going to kill you" he yells as I shot him one last time in the stomach.

"Diane let's go...." I feel my eye getting blurry... what's going on? I turn my head to see Diane screaming as hard as she can. I turn to see Noah standing at the door with a gun pointed...

Is he about to shoot...?

no...

He already did...

Feeling my heartbeat getting louder as I fall to my knees

Suddenly seeing Noah being shot to his knees as Damon and Colten come bursting in with a whole swat team with them

Damon's eyes widen as they instantly connect to mine...

be begins to scream

but I can't hear him

I can't hear anything

My eyes start to close

Is this really the end....?

Damon's P.O.V

As we got to the place where Athena and Diane are being held, I can feel my rage quicken

The swat team instated a precise plan for a quick rescue as they positioned the sniper and men at every entrance and exit

"SHOTS HAVE BEEN FIRED I REPEAT SHOTS HAVE BEEN FIRED" one officer repeats as my eyes widen, they begin to break down the door. Everyone runs in as we see Alex was already shot and Ace now laying in a pool of blood. I would have slaughtered him... the swat team rushes through the building securing all entrances, exits and rooms

I franticly search for Athena

Seeing Colten rush to Dianne as he secures her

My eyes widen

No

It can't be

Athena... laying on her side with blood... Blood!

I then run to her holding her "Athena! Baby! Open your eyes" I then am being pulled away by officers as the medic's rush to her side. I then begin smashing through as they desperately tried to hold me back

"LET ME GO" I yell as I thrash around in their hold having 4 men try to hold me back, I then fall to my knees as I see the medics put an air mask on her. "ATHENA!" I begin to cry... please

It's been hours.... hours since I heard her voice... hours since I have seen her smile ... since I felt her touch... its been ... hours...

Slowly the door opens as I see a doctor come in. "How is she!" I say as I shoot up from my seat having Colten and Diane right by my side.

"She's going to do just fine... but the baby..."

My eyes widened...

Diane instantly busted into tears as Colten hugged her tightly.

"C-can I see her," I say as he simply nodded and showed me the way to her room.

With each step, I felt heavy. I should have been there. To protect her... keep her safe and take that bullet... He opens the door as I walk in. I walk to her side and go on my knees as I touch her hand gently... "I should've been there to protect you... I'm sorry please... please forgive me" I cry out.

After a few moments, I feel Athena's hand grip mine. My head shoots up to see Athena's eyes slowly flutter open. "It's not your fault" she slowly says. I then kiss her lips as I gently place my forehead to hers "I love you so much" I say as tears slip out of my eyes...

The next while the doctors came in and checked on her making sure she's ok... then I broke the news to her... she slowly placed her hands on her tummy... As she busted into screams and tears. I held her in my arms as I made sure she knew that everything was going to be ok and how much she's loved.

Colten and Dianne came in later as well as Tony and Zac they all hugged her as she tried to put on a brave smile, but I knew all she wanted to do was cry.

Everyone who was about to attend our wedding was safely escorted back to their planes and returned home.

Shortly after Colten, Diane and the kids left she was able to be discharged. That day we all flew back to New York I held her the entire way home.

She was quiet...

We said our goodbyes as Athena, Zac and I headed our house

After putting Zac to bed I went to my room to see Athena sitting on our bed and sobbing

"Athena..." I say as I hugged her. "I love you so much. Without you, in my life, I truly would be nothing, would have nothing and would feel nothing. You are all I will ever need, all I wanted and all I will ever want" she smiled as she kissed my lips "I love you, thank you" she says as she hugs me tightly.

Today was the big day. We had guests pouring in from all over ready to see us finally get married. After the last fiasco, I honestly thought no one would come this time. The memories of what happened flowed into my head as I let out a sad sigh holding my tummy.

"You ready" Diane my maid of honour said as she hands me my bouquet of flowers "I'm as ready as ill ever be"

"Will you Damon Black take Athena Rose to be your lawful wedded wife"

"I do"

"And will you Athena Rose take Damon Black to be lawful wedded husband"

"I do"

"I now pronounce you Husband and Wife!"

Everyone cheered as Damon's lips came crashing on to mine

And at this moment I truly felt complete.

*One year later*

It's been one whole year of being married to Damon and let me tell you my life... could have never been better.

I'm currently 2 months pregnant and I couldn't have felt any better. Damon was so happy to hear that I was pregnant. As for Zac, he kept asking me if it ate the baby.

Within this year Diane and Colten had gotten married and given birth to twins naming them Sebastian and Anna. Tony was thrilled to be a big brother has been asking to play with them nonstop since they arrived.

As for Damon well... I guess you can say has been busy... if you know what I mean I'm surprised I didn't get pregnant sooner

Life so far has been amazing, and I know it's going to get even better.
