Chapter 27 Trapped

Diana asked some basic questions and Alex was the one answering them. He noticed her uneasiness around him and he started wondering what the actual problem was.

"I know about the rumour that you have kidnapped your sister to marry Mr. Alexander. So, if you want to make any statement on that, it would be beneficial for you." Diana asked Clara. She looked at Diana and back at Alex.

"I don't want to say anything about it." Her words didn't settle well with Alex. He loved her replies then to his employees. But what happened to her all of a sudden?

"Guess I have to answer this" Alex gave a small smile.

"I kidnapped her so that I can marry this girl" Alex spoke as Clara widened her eyes. "That was a bold statement." Diana chuckled.

"You can write them. I don't mind. These stupid rumours should get stupid answers, don't you think?" Alex asked Dian and she nodded in agreement.

"That would create a ruckus. But still, I would publish this as I love dramas" Diana laughed as Alex couldn't agree to it anymore.

"You both look so beautiful together" Diana gave a compliment as she clicked some pictures to publish them "I would request you to not publish my picture, please" Clara spoke suddenly as she knew that it would create some drama for her. She doesn't like to get attention at all.

"Please," Clara asked again when Diana gave a disapproving look.

"You are my wife. If you need anything, you should say it. Don't ask." Alex spoke, grabbing her palm, and sending jitters down her entire body.

"Sure, Mr. Fernandez. I will make sure of this" Diana replied nervously as Alex didn't like how Diana gave a disapproving look to Clara. After Diana left the place, Clara stood up instantly to leave the place.

"Can you explain to me what the hell happened?" Alex grabbed her instantly and she flinched with his tone itself.

"Leave me," Clara replied without having direct eye contact with him.

"I was mad that you didn't come even after I asked you to come." Alex tried explaining.

"I left the office by 4 itself. But I couldn't get a cab or bus" Clara replied now looking at his face as if accusing him of everything. She didn't deserve to be treated like that.

"You can check my bookings on my phone if you don't believe me" Clara kept the phone on the table with a thud.

"I just don't want to continue this conversation. Leave me. I don't want to explain my side. I don't want to prove myself. I don't want to do anything." Now she is getting out of control. Alex looked at her baffled. That was not expected.

"Do you want to scold me in front of all, you can do that" Clara replied again.

"Everyone came. There is a small breakfast banquet for our employees and board members. Let's join them" Mac came inside with the information as he saw Alex glaring at Clara and she was wriggling to get freed.

"Any problem?" Mac asked seeing them.

"Yes, can you leave the room?" Alex asked him.

"Can you ask him to stop bossing around me?" Clara asked Mac and he stood there looking at both of them.

"Mac, leave" Alex stressed the word.

"Please get me with you" Clara begged from the other end. She doesn't want to talk to him. If Mac left the place, she might lose her control and she is not sure if she would just talk with Alex. It wouldn't be a shock if she slapped him or something like that in fear.

"When did you two become this close!" Now Alex is not at all okay with Mac disobeying his order for his wife. Mac gave a warning look to Alex and Alex knew that he should let this go before it turned out worse.

Alex loosened the grip and Clara pushed him instantly and left the place.

"She is mad at me as I was rude to her." Alex is now hell mad.

"But isn't that what she is? She has always been so rude and mean to me." Alex asked in turn.

"But she has the right as you were the one to bring her to this mess" Mac supported Clara. Alex scoffed at his words and left the place.

Days passed by and Clara still couldn't talk normally with Alex. That single incident had so much effect that she couldn't take him normally. It is as if he became Elena to her.

It's a normal evening after an exhausting day. Layla made sure that Clara never got to sit peacefully. To add more misery to her life, Sandy selected Clara as head designer for Classy and Sparkles. Everyone is just jealous and couldn't digest this at all. But Clara on the other hand is super excited to prove to them that she is the only one deserving of such a post.

She went directly to the hallway restaurant where Sandy arranged a party for his employees. She didn't feel like changing her dress as it would be too hassle to walk home and come again. She just touched up her face and let her hair open with little curls in the end.

"Hi," Nathan came with a drink to offer to Clara. She politely denied it as she knew what would happen if she got drunk.

"Someone needs to be talented and someone needs to be beautiful. Guess our new employee fits in the second column" A girl snapped as Clara turned to see if they were talking about her or not.

"We should learn from her. In just a week, she managed to crack the position. She is one smart lady" Diya also commented with full jealousy. She even managed to steal one of the designs of Clara for that contest but Clara's designs were irreplaceable and that made Sandy pick her.

"You should get used to it. You got that rare chance that many of our employees desired to get." Nathan tried to make her get away from them. Nathan didn't like how everyone targeted Clara since day one whereas Clara has been so polite to everyone around her.

"Why would I be upset? They got nothing so they have the right to at least resent me or mock me. But I have gotten this chance so I won't waste such an opportunity in these arguments." Clara's words were loud enough to make everyone hear them. They were hell angry with her audacity to snap at them. Layla heard everything as she walked slowly towards Clara.

Alex didn't want to attend this party but he had to go. He entered the venue and scanned everything. His eyes fell over the left side of the commotion where some employees seemed to have a drama.

"We should have brought Clara too" Rose pouted when they all came to the party leaving Clara. Alex even didn't inform Clara about the party. If she is not talking with him, he won't make any effort to clarify his side.

"Why should I come?" Edward whined as Sharon grabbed him inside the Hallway restaurant.

"There might be many VIPs. I want everyone to notice you." Sharon snapped at her son as she grabbed him inside to introduce him to Geller who has a beautiful daughter. Sharon planned something already to set her son's future.

"Why did he invite us?" Frank asked, unsure of Sandy's intentions. That was weird. Even Alex had the same doubt.

Fernandez came and sat on the VIP section couch as they all enjoyed the welcome drink. Sharon took Edward to introduce him to Gellers.

On the left side where the employees were standing there.

"Super happy?" Layla asked Clara and Clara was not at all intimidated by her words or her manners at all.

"Let's get to know each other as we will be working together" Layla offered her a drink with a smile.

"No thanks." Clara is very clear about not having any drinks tonight. But denying Layla's drink is not something anyone can do.

"Don't be scared. I am not that bad." Layla is persistent now. The people around them could feel the threat in Layla's words.

"I don't drink." Clara tried to be polite but even her soft words offended Layla so much. Clara walked past her as she didn't want to pick any fight. It would be damn embarrassing.

Layla turned and kept her legs in the way, making Clara fall over the floor suddenly. Everyone hopped up to see what happened all of a sudden.

"Oops. I didn't do that intentionally" Layla gave a small smile and left the place arrogantly to show what would happen if you denied Layla.

Clara sighed tiredly. How childish? She tried to get up but again fell down because of an imbalance.

Her eyes twinkled when she saw two hands on either side for help. She knew that someone would be human enough to help her at least rather to laugh at her state. But she could hear lots of gasps and terrific sounds from all around. She ignored them as she grabbed the left side hand to stand up and soon, she got hold of the right-side hand too.

"Thankkkk" Her words dragged in the end as she widened her eyes at both of the guys who just helped her. She hated being in the centre of attention but who thought that she would be caught like this in between the most powerful businessmen of this city? Alex and Sandy had her on either hand as Clara couldn't decide to react.
