Chapter 28

"Boss," Layla and Diya exclaimed together with so much annoyance. Sandy was known for his ignorant behaviour towards any female employee in the company but helping Clara was something that was not at all tolerable. The most annoying thing was it was for Clara.

"Boss?" Clara was now confused as to where she was working. Was it Alex's company? Was it Sandy? She didn't know. She looked at both and gulped visibly. She was not even sure what would be nice. To work under Sandy or to work under Alex?

"Meet my head designer of Classy and Sparkles," Sandy introduced Clara to Alex as he fisted his hand which had her hand also. Clara shivered at the news. Alex showed how much he hated this news.

"She is talented," Sandy added with a smirk. Okay, that was the thing he wanted to show at this party. Clara is now is hell confused as why it must be her in between these guys who is ready to murder each other.

"She is for sure" Alex grabbed her by her waist as Clara widened her eyes.

"Thanks for complimenting my wife" That's it, Layla and Diya couldn't form any words to even whisper. Clara closed her eyes in reflex. She didn't expect this for sure. She didn't even lift her eyes to look at anyone as she could hear their gasps and shocking

murmurs.

"Are you fine?" Alex asked Clara as she nodded her head.

"I am super fine, thanks to you" Clara wanted to yell.

"Hope you give some warning to your employees to treat others fairly" Alex taunted Sandy, glaring at Layla as if he saw what happened just now. That sends chills to Layla and everyone supporting Layla.

Clara followed Alex whose expressions were grave.

"I didn't know that it was his company. Just now I realized" Clara clarified her stand. She knew for a fact that these two don't come on good terms. And Alex shouldn't misunderstand Clara here. She can't bear that.

Alex turned to look at her as she stopped her track.

"He doesn't come to our workplace and I didn't know that it's him" She again spoke nervously. Alex's expression softened with her nervous face.

"Relax." Alex replied with a soft expression. Now Clara is super confused. Will he ask her to resign from her job? She would understand if he said those. But she doesn't want to resign from her job. She wanted to work with the Classy and Sparkles project. She can't lose this opportunity.

"I have already told you that I won't interfere in your personal matters. So, I am firm in that. You are free to do anything." Alex explained as if he wanted her to realize that she is free to do anything here.

"In turn I just expect you to act as my wife in certain situations," Alex spoke carefully. He didn't like how she was distancing herself just because he expected her to do something.

Alex hell never thought that he would be this soft towards anyone in this world. But Clara seemed to be different and he didn't want to hurt her. Clara on the other hand felt so sorry towards him for her behaviour for the past few days. He is too gentle and kind and not at all like the type that so many magazines explained him to be. The thought of him like Elena died right now when he didn't force her to resign the job.

"I will try," She replied, instantly shrugging off her thoughts. Her words were the same as before, so cold and rude but her smile made sure that she has let that go and now she won't be back to square one.

"By the way, may I ask, is it a normal enmity between you and Mr. Williams? Or is there something more to it?" Clara asked as she wanted to be sure not to create any more hustle.

Alex looked at Sandy behind as his eyes turned colder than expected. Clara regretted even asking those.

"It's nothing important" Alex replied plainly but Clara could see the underlying threat in his stares alone.

Clara though didn't want to use Alex's name in her workplace, she felt too good as Layla and others stopped worrying her with the fear of Alex.

"The project will be launched soon. It's just an inauguration party" Sandy informed everything as he tossed his glass.

"This place is a great opportunity to inform others about something." Alex's voice made everyone curious. Alex came there with another glass of wine. He grabbed the mike from Sandy's hand who is clueless about what is happening.

"The rumour you heard about Classy and Sparkles is true" Alex informed with a bright smile as Mac widened his eyes.

"We will be joining the project and it's going to rock the market soon" Alex informed and now Sandy smirked at the move he made. Such a perfect husband. Isn't it?

"I don't know if you deliberately made this rumour or not. But get ready for this." Alex whispered to Sandy as he tossed his wine glass to everyone. Several pictures were taken to publish this exclusive news.

"Dance till the music goes off" Nathan announced the small game for everyone to enjoy the party.

"We will pair you. But you should write on the names of whom you don't want to get paired with. So, we might consider them." Nathan spoke as he gave a paper and pen to everyone.

Clara took the pen and wrote: all. Nathan chuckled instantly seeing her answer. She looked at him with a glare that she is indeed serious. She is not in the mood to dance with anyone.

Nathan collected every paper and came to the centre with a teasing smile.

"I am very much thrilled to see your dances with the names you mentioned here." everyone gasped with a nervous smile as they didn't expect it for sure.

"Now, the couples are" Nathan started pairing up all the odd couples who were very not at all pleased to dance with each other.

"Mr Alexander and Clara." That was unexpected for sure. Alex looked at Clara while she was busy murdering Nathan with her stares.

"Boss and Rose Fernandez" Now it was the time for Nathan to get a murderous gaze from all around the party hall.

The little music filled the hall as the partners came to dance.

"I don't know how to dance," Clara mumbled nervously. She wanted to leave the place once she said she didn't want to dance. But it will again anger Alex and she doesn't want to fight with him.

"I might have believed you if I didn't see your beautiful dance that night" Alex whispered as he pulled her to his side for a dance. Shock must be an understatement to which she is feeling right now. Damn that alcohol. Her cheeks flushed red with his statement. She knew how she would dance and it must have been so s*xy. The fact that he witnessed her dance made her blank. He gently grabbed her waist and started dancing as if he is a pro in every field he is walking.

Sandy-Rose "You were desperate not to dance with me? That's impressive." Sandy voiced out with a smirk as he grabbed her close to him.

"As if you were not" She replied as she kicked his legs with her heels. That was one painful thing for him. Both can't fight in front of tons of media people so they both plastered a smile over their faces as they danced.

"The more you hurt me, the more I won't give up in this game," Sandy whispered near her ears as he slightly caressed her cheeks with his forefinger.

"I might imagine that some scorpion is poisoning me. So, try everything" She smirked

at him as he was just shocked with her attitude. This is not the Rose he knew. She is ready to burn him alive even though she is hurting herself in this process. She again gave him a kick and now Sandy wanted to stop his game but he is after all Sandy Williams. He didn't stop his torture as he started dancing vigorously by twirling her and he grabbed her to Alex's side so that he notices the happenings. Alex-Clara "Guess you are not mad anymore" Alex asked softly with a smile.

"Guess you won't repeat your dominant nature. It won't work with me." Clara came to

her mode in her replies and Alex realised how much he missed them.

"Is this announcement to merge with this project made because of me?" Clara asked suddenly.

"I didn't fall for you to the extent that I would take such a step." His words were playful enough to make her flustered again.

"I didn't mean that way" Clara is annoyed now. He laughed softly at her cute face. Alex

is disturbed by Sandy who was dancing with his sister.
