Chapter 33 My buddy’s girl is mine

A few years ago.

"Sana messaged me a few hours ago." Alex trembled in fear when the entire hall was vacant because the marriage was called off as the bride ran away.

"It's a voice note" Alex played the message and her loud scream was all heard.

"Save me" Her words died and the recording ended. He looked around to find his friend who is thankfully a detective. Steve came beside him assuring Alex that they would find her soon. The thought that Sana ran away died the moment they heard the voice note. She is in danger.

"We had located her number. She is just nearby" Steve gave the information. Alex badly wanted Sandy to be there with him as he was hell scared to even face anything. But the guy is nowhere nearby.

"Why Sandy is not picking up his phone." Rose was crying and devastated. She wanted him to be there to console Alex and even her. But Sandy has nowhere to be found. Alex felt a bad vibe with both the news.

They all reached the restaurant where they supposed Sana to be there.

"She must be here" Alex stood there in front of 1034 room and his hand trembled as numerous thoughts ran wild inside his head. Many things would be possible with her. The thought that he could have saved her if he saw this message a little earlier, made him vulnerable.

He opened the door and the scene in front of him made him freeze to death.

Sandy was sleeping there in a very inappropriate manner. Rose froze to the spot as she stumbled to reach the table nearby.

"Sandy?" Rose whispered as tears rolled down her eyes realizing the state of him. There is no way there could be another story. The lipstick mark all over his face told the truth. "Why is Sana's phone location in this room?" Alex asked who came out from the shock after five long minutes. His terrific face was like chalk as white.

Sandy opened his eyes and tried to get up without realising his state.

"Sana's phone is here." Alex who was just shocked beyond imagination. It can't be the reality.

He opened the lock and saw a video on the screen which was saved right before the phone went off.

"Don't you ever show me your face, Alex" Sana had recorded her video where her lips were brutally hurt and her messy hair was all visible in the video.

"My buddy's girl is mine" Sandy was reciting the dialogue behind Sana. Alex widened his eyes at the video as his red tears rolled down the cheeks. There were a few times when Sandy told this dialogue just for fun. But he'll never think that he meant it.

"You sent him here, right?" Sana told a statement with tears rolling down her cheeks. Alex saw the video and couldn't form any words to describe what he was feeling that time.

"Yes, my buddy" Sandy again interrupted her and Sana closed her eyes to cry more. The video ended then and there.

Rose couldn't even react as she was staring at the bed without any tears or expressions. She sat there blankly.

The video was pretty clear that no one would say that Sandy was drunk or he was not

in his consciousness. He was laughing like a maniac as if he achieved what he had planned for.

Alex lost his temper as he reached the bed in seconds and started beating Sandy black and blue without minding about anything. Sandy opened his eyes and was shocked with so many people around him.

"Dude, what happened?" Alex would have trusted Sandy's words if he didn't see that video.

"You scumbag" Alex was not in his sane mind as he was punching his face numerous times till, he lost his consciousness.

"I didn't do it" Sandy's words died as he lost his consciousness.

Flashback ends.

Alex felt the same way when he reached the cabin. He should have forced Clara to quit the job. He shouldn't have acted all cool. Sandy is not a human being. Why did he have to let Clara join this company?

He knocked on the door repeatedly with so much panic in his heart. He can't let another girl's life get ruined by Sandy.

The door got unlocked with his continuous knock and Alex dashed inside without any second delay. He widened his eyes with the scenery.

Clara was adjusting her dress and hair as she looked at Sandy with a smile on her face.

"Hope you are fine" Sandy asked as he stroked her hair to which Clara just assured him back.

That was not expected. Sandy pulling this game was pretty expected. But Clara acting this way was not at all in the list. Alex felt betrayed all of a sudden.

"It was fun with you" Sandy's words can be interpreted in many ways but Clara laughing at his words was pretty weird.

"Yeah, thanks for" Clara started speaking while Sandy kept his finger in her mouth.

"Sh. No thanks between us." Sandy replied with a wink.

Alex realized that Clara is not a unique girl. She is just another girl who can do anything unpredictable.

"Your husband is here. I don't want to create another world war here." Sandy laughed

as Clara didn't defend or offend the statement. Alex stood there with fiery eyes.

"I should get going." Sandy walked to the entrance where Alex was standing.

"Your choice of girl is top notch" Sandy's words made him close his eyes in reflex. He wanted to smash Sandy for sure. But right now, he is done with everything. He looked at Clara with so much disgust that made Sandy smile through hell.

"Give me five minutes. I will wrap this up and come" Clara spoke as she started folding everything neatly.

"I am not your driver." With that Alex zoomed off as Clara stood there frozen. They were more than strangers for a few days, weren't they? Why is he talking like that again? She checked the time and it passed 8 already. She knew that she couldn't get a bus there. Catching a cab would also not be safe late at night.

"Will you drop me, if you don't mind?" Clara asked Sandy directly who was ready to leave the office at the same time. He smiled as if his plan worked out for real.

"Sure." Sandy opened the seat for her. He checked his rear mirror and saw Alex's car just behind his.

Alex was waiting for Clara, hoping that it might be his misunderstanding and he couldn't leave her alone like that. He wanted to leave with her. But seeing her getting inside Sandy's car as if she is the owner made him so mad that he punched his steering so hard.

"Ridiculous" he mumbled as he drove his car at high speed.

Both of them reached home at the same time. Alex got inside without sparing a glance towards her.

"Welcome welcome" Edward spoke when Alex and Clara entered the home together.

"We were discussing something very special. You should listen to them" Edward commented as he gently grabbed Clara to sit in the centre to hear their stories. "You knew magic right? Maybe you are a magician?" Edward asked and now Alex is more than sure that he won't leave this topic for at least one hour.

"Magic? No, why?" Clara has no clue about what he is talking about.

"Maybe you are Alien which we are not aware of. And you can control people's mind" Edward made another guess and now it's getting overboard.

"If not, you know black magic. I mean you could be a witch?" Edward widened his eyes

at the realization and backed away as if he feared Clara.

"Or else, you have" Clara's glare made him stop his wild guesses.

"Okay let me explain everything." Edward spoke. Frank and Rose controlled their giggle as they knew what was happening.

"Our brother was living his life with so many principles till now." Edward faked his tears.

"For example. If Joe gave his coffee two minutes late, he won't get that week's salary. If someone sits on his table in the dining area, he will break everything around him. Everything was as if he was programmed to live." the moment Edward told everything, Clara widened her eyes. Since she came, nothing has happened. Even she sat in his place that day and he just smiled and was beside her.

"Don't lie." Clara mumbled and now Alex wanted to smash Edward to bring up this matter especially when he is hell mad with Clara.

"Most important thing is, he never leaves me alone in the middle of the road whatever the reason may be." Rose's words brought Alex to reality. Shit shit. That was the reason this is brought into. He shouldn't even bother to check Clara who has the capacity to save herself.

"He can bear losses of a million dollars but never leaves me in the middle of the road and asks me to get back home by cab" Rose crosses her hand dominantly as Alex tries to look away.

"Today after shopping, he abandoned his sister only to get back to the office to pick up someone so special" That's it. Alex now wanted to hide behind a very huge wall or else to drink something to make him invisible full day. Clara looked at him with so many questions. It's news to her. If he was there for her, why was he angry with her?

"Now I am sure that Elsa might be kidnapped that day by someone so powerful" Frank spoke seriously as Grace laughed at his words.

"Omg, don't tell me that it's love at first sight and Alex wanted to marry Clara in the beginning itself?" Grace helped them as all burst out into laughter with Alex's widened eyes.

"If you all are done with your stories, I shall leave now." Alex walked to his room. Clara sat there in complete confusion. If what they said is true, why would he do such things for her? The feeling of getting acknowledged by someone was very new and weird for her. She couldn't bear the weight of her heart as tears formed in her eyes.
