Chapter 34 I am not okay

In a restaurant. "Don't you think it's unfair for you and your son?" Elena asked Sharon as she sipped her black coffee.

"Our targets are different. But I know that if we work together, we will get what we want" Elena was pretty straight forward in proposing this.

"If I am not what you have predicted, things would go wrong, don't you think?" Sharon asked with some suspicion. She can't let the outsiders know about her intentions and that could be a danger for her to even live in Fernandez's home.

"I don't predict things. I talk about it only when I have enough proof." Elena smirked and that's how Sharon knew that this lady is one pure evil. If she exposes Sharon, she can't even live. But if she joins hands with her, she can even blame Elena and get escaped if a situation arises.

"Fine" Sharon replied curtly and both the ladies left the restaurant with the only motive to destroy Alex and Clara.

Alex home Clara entered the room with so many questions.

"Don't talk to me. I am in no mood to talk about anything" Alex's annoyed words made

her mad. What did she do suddenly that made him like this?

"As if I am dying to talk" She snapped angrily as she picked up her clothes to get changed.

"Of course, you have too many friends to talk with. So why would you even wish to talk

to someone like me?" He asked crossing his arms in a dominating way.

The fact that she didn't snap at Sandy a few minutes ago, made him grumpier. He threw the lamp over the floor with so much anger.

"If you think that I would ask if there is something I did wrong, get this straight to your head that I don't have any interest in what you think of me. I won't ever try to act to please anyone." Clara is very annoyed now. How can he talk like this? She even tried to be so nice to him and he didn't think twice to blame her for something that she wasn't aware of.

Alex dashed inside the study room where Mac is already there arranging a few things for the trip.

"Why are you here?" Alex asked, super annoyed. The fact that it's because of Mac everything happened. If he didn't go, Alex wouldn't have to see everything that happened.

"Thanks to my boss who totally forgot the sparkles and is now enjoying his new office with his rival partner and even roaming around with his new wife." Mac taunted Alex directly.

"I am working double time and here instead of increasing my pay, you are questioning me about my presence?" Mac asked, crossing his arms with so much annoyance.

"Edward will be going to New York tomorrow to finalize our deal as I knew for a fact that you won't go, right?" Mac is in full form to piss off Alex now.

"Okay, everyone has taken an oath to snap at me, right?" Alex asked, throwing the phone to his couch with so much anger.

"Fine. What is with your mood now?" Mac asked closing all the files now to sit across him to listen to whatever he would ramble on.

"My mood is perfectly fine and I am happy" Alex snapped at Mac and turned away not wanting to share anything.

"Is it about Clara?" Mac asked directly.

"Don't even get me started," Alex replied, annoyed.

"Did you do anything again with her?" Mac is worried now for Clara.

"Oh, come on man. She is the one doing nonsense to me." Alex is now fully pissed off about how Mac thinks like this?

He explained how Clara mingled with Sandy and the remark Sandy gave for Clara was something else.

"Dude. Don't take me wrong. Are you in love?" that was unexpected from Mac for sure. "Out of all people, I don't know how you can ask this" Alex raised his eyes as Mac's eyes turned dark. He shouldn't have asked those. No one knew Alex more than him. He should have known that Alex can do anything but love?

"I was treating her with caution just because I felt guilty. But she never acknowledged my efforts. And now suddenly, she is smiling with that bastard who did nothing but torture her?" Alex pulled his hair out of frustration.

"First of all, understand this well. You are feeling guilty. It doesn't do anything with her. She can still resent you because marriage might not be a big deal to you but it can be for her." Mac's words really made sense.

"You are expecting something from her which she has no idea of" Mac is now concerned about his friend. Why did he change like this?

"She may be your wife. But she can talk to anyone she likes. It's not necessary that she should respect your efforts." Mac explained as if he was explaining to a 5-year kid. Alex is nearly like a kid whenever he is grumpy.

"If Sandy is your rival and you want her to stay away, you should tell her about everything. If she didn't know what happened, why can you expect her to stay away from Sandy?" Mac asked and Alex realized what he did out of anger. Maybe Sandy knew his reaction and that's why he played in such a way to make them fight.

Taylors home "She doesn't deserve Alex. He has been sweet to her, you know?" Elsa threw the files here and there.

"She should feel that she is still here with us." Elena replied with a smirk and as usual Elsa didn't know what this woman was thinking.

In Alexander home Clara turned to see that the room was locked from outside by someone. Panic drove through her entire body as she ran to the door to open it.

She widened her eyes in realisation that she was locked in her room alone. The lights went off to add more misery to her.

"Full night stay here" She heard Elena's voice there and just like that, she knew whose work this is. She sat there trying hard to fighting her fear. It's been years since she was locked up like this. So, she wanted to break that fear and Elena can never do anything. "I am sorry, dear" She saw Stella there with eyes full of tears in a corner of the room. Clara shut her eyes tightly so that her imagination doesn't run wild. She knew that everything was just her hallucinations. The room walls started dancing on its own and she couldn't even scream as she felt her throat blocked all voice.

Taylor home "She will be tortured more than what she endured here." Elena laughed and wished to see her state with her eyes.

"She should, grandma. Maybe we should use our second card too" Elsa is a little impatient now.

"First let's get our scarred Clara back. Then we should use this second card to separate her from Alex." Elena's words gave much confidence to Elsa now. She just wants to wait for the correct timing to get Alex's trust back.

Alex room "Why did you kill me?" Clara saw Stella asking the same question again and again. She knew that it's just her fear and hallucinations. But she couldn't ignore the image in front of her.

"Don't forget that you killed your mom" She could hear Elena's voice also. Clara closed her ears with so much force but the words didn't leave her side at all.

"I didn't kill her. I didn't lock the room. It was not me" Clara was reciting the same thing again and again. But the fact that her mom died because she locked the room with the fear of Elena. As a small girl, she couldn't open the door when her mom was having difficulty breathing. Stella couldn't get her medicines at the right time because of that and she died.

"Mom, I am sorry. I am sorry" Clara cried vigorously. As she grew up, Clara knew that it was not her fault but whenever something like this happened, she couldn't help but blame herself for her mom's death.

A small light pierced through the entrance and she knew that someone was there to save her. With the leftover courage, she ran towards the entrance and opened the door swiftly. She grabbed the person and crushed herself in his arms.

Alex was startled with the sudden hug from Clara. Her face was fully wet and her hair was messed up completely.

"You, okay?" Alex asked all concerned. Damn his anger just vanished to thin air once he saw her state. This girl is surely the death of him. He should not let this girl easily manipulate him.

"No" She was breathing Fastly as her sweats were rolling down the side of her head. She didn't leave him as if she felt so safe in his arms. She snuggled more in his neck as she inhaled his scent to come to senses but she was having quite a hard time to even open her eyes.

"I am not okay" She spoke again as her breath was uneven. What happened in just five minutes?
