Chapter 35 Attention seeker

Alex tried to push her as he just couldn't even breathe. This girl was acting as if she was high on drugs.

"Please. P.l.e.a.s.e" She mumbled and hugged him tightly again.

Her head is full of mess right now. The dark room is not at all leaving her mind and Elena's words and voice made it even worse. She wanted to break it but failed miserably as she started shivering a lot.

"You are shivering. Are you okay?" Now Alex screamed as all came there instantly.

"W.h.o locked the door?" she stuttered but asked them as tears rolled down her cheeks. No one saw her break like this. Even Alex is shocked to see her crying. Her hand turned damn cold and Alex didn't answer her but lifted her at once. She didn't even cry when she married him without her consent.

"Call doctor" Alex asked Rose and entered his room to place her in the bed. He started rubbing her hands to make it warm.

"Why is she acting weird?" Sharon asked once she came inside.

"There has always been drama since she came here. Sorry to say this. But it's the fact" Sharon expressed her displeasure directly whereas Clara heard her words but didn't reply to her anything. This was the only thing left for her to hear.

"She is panicked, I guess. I gave her an injection. She would sleep for some time and would be fine once she wakes up." The doctor spoke giving them assurance and left the home.

Alex sat beside her and tried to keep her warm by rubbing her palm.

Sharon and Mathew stood there as everyone went back to their room to sleep.

"I heard about this girl from my kitty friends." Sharon started talking with a worried crossed face.

"As her mom died at a very young age, this girl couldn't accept the new family. I mean, she always hates her step mom and step sister, Elsa. Whenever her grandma tries to show love, she pretends as if they are torturing her." Sharon spoke with no regret in her voice. Alex was silently hearing them without any interruptions.

"She shows as if she has been tortured. Now I guess it became her habit" Sharon exclaimed unbelievably.

"That day, when her grandma came, she left the dinner untouched right? She wants everyone to pity her." Alex was now dotting everything and what Mac told him. It's an entirely different story but whatever Sharon is telling, there is a possibility. Some people tend to be like that. Clara's change of attitudes is not something he can ignore blindly.

"Who locked the door?" Clara mumbled in between her sleep, grabbing Alex's attention.

"It was not locked, Clara," Alex said gently.

"If it's not locked, why did she do this drama?" Sharon asked, gasping loudly. Even Alex had the same thought. Why did she do this?

The door was open only.

Another city "It seems Roselyn Fernandez is getting married" His secretary informed the news to the man who was sitting in the cafe with no expression on his face.

"Send them my wishes with some gifts" John Willams replied sipping his coffee as he remembers many incidents of his life.

"I always wished she would become my daughter-in-law. But fate always has other plans" He mumbled with a long sigh.

"Any update about my son?" John asked directly.

"Sandy sir is busy with classy and Sparkles. Mr. Alexander Fernandez is even joining the project." That was the news. John didn't know this at all.

"It's time to return home actually, isn't it?" John asked curiously.

"I don't want their fight to affect my company, can I?" John is pretty serious. He left his company under Sandy's wings for almost 4 years. He has been taking a rest, roaming around the world, and enjoying everything to the best. He seemed to return to his son at last after a long period.

"I shall book tickets for you" his secretary stood up to get things ready for his boss to leave the country.

Alex sat on the balcony with a cup of coffee and lots of questions. The fact that he is soft towards her was just because she seemed to be trapped by his sudden blackmail of marriage. But now to think back, Elsa could be saying the truth.

"Someone kidnapped me" Alex remembered how Elsa was crying back then. It looked too genuine and there is no way she could be lying.

"Did you see Alex? He is hot. So, who won't kidnap her to marry him?" Now Alex could see Clara's words transparently. Did she mean them?

Too many questions and doubts. He looked at Clara who was sleeping peacefully.

'Why the hell did I even have to marry?' Alex pulled his hair out of frustration.

If Clara turns out to be like what he is doubting, it would be damn bad for Clara. She

has not even seen 1% of What would happen if anyone betrays Alex. The live example was Sandy.

No one knew what he did with him but the pain he gave to Sandy can never be forgiven nor forgotten. Alex prayed hard that Clara would not come on that side ever.

Clara woke up with a heaviness in her head. The panic attack seemed to affect her health. She couldn't even lift her head from the pillow. She looked at the soup on her table with a note.

"It's Rose's engagement tomorrow evening. Have soup and take a rest so that you can take part in the function." Clara read Alex's note and she couldn't feel anything right at the moment. Someone taking care of her is a warm feeling. She closed her eyes to let the tears warm over her face. But the threat was so real. Clara is super confident that Elena was the only person to pull such a prank to show that she still has the upper hand in her life.

Clara had her soup with an overwhelming feeling. She decided to let her guard down for once in her life. There were so many good people around her and she needed to accept them. She smiled realizing how easily she convinced her heart to get happy with this gesture.

She got ready in her simple attire and that's when Alex entered the room and looked at her "Thanks" She mumbled with a smile for the first time. And it's also the first time

he doesn't feel like smiling back. Something is bothering him.

"Aren't you taking a rest?" Alex asked, ignoring his thoughts.

"I have to finish some work today" Clara mumbled with the hope that he won't ask her

to stay back.

"Your wish" Alex left the place instantly, startling her. For a second, she felt disappointed. She thought he would scold her for being irresponsible. But his sudden change made her take a few steps back.

She shrugged off her shoulders not wanting to think anything negative. She took her purse and left for her office.

Alex didn't want to follow her or drop her as she caught a bus. He took his car and reached the office exactly when she reached there. He wanted to show that he purposefully didn't get her in his car. Clara on the other hand had no idea of why he had to be mad at her. She walked to the elevator and got inside without even noticing Alex behind her.

Before Alex could get inside, the door of the lift closed making him frustrated. Their office is on the 17th floor and the cherry on the top is Sandy is there inside the lift with Clara.

"She purposefully did this" Alex's mind snapped at him.

His eyes widened in shock when the lift didn't move up from the 5th floor. He pressed

the button and it turned red and the alarm went on showing that lift was stuck in that floor.

"She was scared" The doctor's words ringed inside Alex's mind. The way she hugged him when she was scared made him turn pale. He can't let that happen again with Sandy, right? He knocked on the lift door instantly.

"It never happened here. I have asked for a help team. They will arrive sometime" The security guard told him in panic, seeing Alex's anger.

"Sometimes? Why don't you have them here now?" he yelled as the security guard jumped in fear.
