Chapter 40 Baking a cake or a mess

The bright and sad day ended with no trace. Clara came out and saw the sleeping figure of Alex. All his complaints made her so sad. He didn't deserve such sadness in his life.

Alex rolled in the bed and opened his eyes with so much difficulty.

"Are you okay?" Clara asked as she gave him some medicine and coffee.

"Thanks" Alex replied and soon his face turned red in madness. He remembered how Sandy spoiled their little happy moment.

"Relax. We can't change what happened. But we can at least repair things" Clara said, sitting beside him.

"We have to focus on Roselyn now." Clara has a point. The mention of his sister made his face soften a bit and his eyes showed numerous emotions all at once. Clara was amazed with how she can read his heart so easily with his eyes itself. Is it because he opened about himself too much the previous day?

"I just want to do something to make her happy." Alex replied plainly.

"Maybe I should talk with my lawyer to do something" Alex canalised what would make Rose happy.

"Those things would be sorted if not today, by tomorrow. But right now, Roselyn needed some emotional support from her loved ones." Clara tried to make him understand but he looked at her blankly without understanding her words even a bit.

"You should try doing something special for her so that she tries to forget everything and tries to move on." Clara's words made sense. That can be an incredible plan.

"Shall I give her some of my exclusives?" Alex asked with his shining eyes as if he found something so appropriate to give his sister.

"Gifts are meant to touch the heart not just with money" Clara is now getting annoyed with his useless ideas.

"Do you have a better plan?" Alex asked directly. He doesn't want to mess it up when it concerns Rose.

Clara smiled and grabbed him somewhere. Alex followed her like a puppy.

Alex was shocked to see where she got him to. Did he come here before? Of course,

never.

"Kitchen?" Alex asked amused.

"Don't tell me that you want me to do something fishy?" Alex asked, crossing his arms. "Not fishy. But just a cake. She loves cake right. Why don't you bake one?" She asked with a smile.

"Do you even know you are talking with Alexander Fernandez?" Alex asked with so much annoyance.

"Shall we give an introduction later?" Clara replied with a scoff as she gave him a big vessel with essential items. She eyed him to make them a fine batter.

"I will order it for her" Alex kept the vessel back to the counter.

"I thought you could do anything as you are the great Alexander Fernandez, right?" Clara commented. But he rolled his eyes, massaging his head as the pain was still there.

"It's just a cake. But if she gets it from your hand, she will forget everything that happened yesterday. It is the best you can do for her " Clara convinced him and Alex with an ugly expression started creating the mess, precisely a cake.

"Oh damn. Have you ever not seen anyone doing this?" Clara asked all amused Alex was looking at the beater to see which one is handle and which one is used to mix.

She grabbed his hand and started making them as she was teaching him also. He smiled at her annoyed face. No one has ever raised their tone in front of him but this girl is yelling at him, calling him names but still doesn't even care to see if he is annoyed or not.

"Why do I feel that I was beaten up yesterday and it's aching like hell today" Alex asked, rubbing his shoulder which was slightly swollen. Clara avoided his gaze and asked him to concentrate on the cake.

"I shouldn't have asked you to even step inside this kitchen. If this kitchen had a voice, it would curse me for bringing such a useless person inside" Her words made his jaw drop to the ground. That was so mean and rude.

"Omg, what's this?" Grace asked when she came inside the kitchen to see the mess, they both created. Clara looked at Alex whose face was covered with white flour as his full suit was also spoiled with some curd in one area or oil in the other side. Not to mention about the kitchen table which has no space to even keep a glass of water. "Are you drunk in the morning itself?" Grace asked, gasping loudly.

"It's because of her." Alex blamed Clara with a huge pout.

"Nope. It's because of you" Clara blamed Grace directly, making her baffled.

"How can you raise such a useless guy? He doesn't even know what is a spoon" Clara stomped her foot, all annoyed. Alex looked at her in unbelief. How can she insult him like this?

"But why do you want to do all these?" Grace asked the important question. That's when Rose, Frank and Edward came inside.

"I just wanted to bake a cake for Rose. But I didn't know that she has no idea of how Cake is baked " Alex replied glaring at Clara who was shocked by his words. Clara crossed her arms with so much anger and her mouth itched so many names to call him. He looked away avoiding her angry glare.

"Oh yeah, I am one stupid creature of God who doesn't even know what is oil and what

is water. Can you believe me?" Clara asked, throwing up her hands in frustration.

"Can you imagine? I asked him to take two cups of oil and what did he do?" Clara asked Grace who was now enjoying this little banter for sure.

She opened another bowl which she specially kept it to show to everyone, which was done by Alex. There were two tea cups and he poured water in it thinking that it was oil. Grace laughed out loudly seeing how dumb her grandson is.

In this mess, no one saw Rose who got emotional seeing how much Alex tried to make

her better. Rose came running and hugged her brother with tears.

"Thank you" she mumbled as her sobs increased. Clara smiled as her plan at last accomplished.

"Thank God you didn't taste his cake, or else your tears would never end" Clara taunted as all burst into laughter making Alex roll his eyes. She is getting one among his family to tease him lately.

"Coffee by Rose" She exclaimed as she poured coffee in all cups. She didn't want to cry and make everyone upset because of her ill fate. She won't do that like a normal girl. Alex's efforts made her realise that she needs to break this barrier and she wants to prove that she won't be like old Rose.

"Why are you all looking at me like this?" Rose asked as she touched her cheeks and forehead.

"Is there anything weird?" She asked to rub it.

"Yeah, it shows how beautiful you are" Edward spoke with a wink as Rose laughed at his words.

"Your coffee is as usual heaven" Edward gave a flying kiss to his sister. Rose felt light with Edward's presence alone.

Alex smiled seeing them like this. He wished to make them happy like this forever. "Where is your beloved wife?" Edward asked suddenly.

"Shut up." Alex is in no mood to either whine about his headache or about absence of Clara as soon as they had that emotional scene earlier in the morning or even to get angry with Sandy.

"Rose, you missed the great drama yesterday" Edward spoke with a wink.

"I didn't know that brother could be this romantic" Now Alex is super shocked with his words. What is Edward talking about? Romantic and that too him?

"He was proposing to Clara again and again." Edward laughed as Rose was shocked with the revelation.

"I was drinking yesterday and it seems Edward is drunk, isn't it?" Alex asked with annoyance. Who would believe such a lie? Even all people around him agreed to Alex's words "I knew that you would say this only. That's why I have filmed it" Edward showed the video he took last night where he was saying I LOVE YOU to Clara and cupping her cheeks.

Alex was shocked beyond imagination. He hell never expected him to be like that. "Wow. Now I am proud of you my son" Frank commented with a proud look. "Guess I will soon get to see my great grandson." Grace's words went overboard and now Alex looked at Edward as if he would murder him and won't even let anyone hold a funeral for him.

"Let's celebrate this and just forget about our event yesterday," Rose said, grabbing their attention.

"About Sandy. I am not going to cry over him or anything. Let me just handle this my way. As you all wished, I will surely marry Daniel" Rose replied with clarity.

"Just trust me and let me do this" Rose has a plan already and Frank is just happy that his daughter is not that soft innocent Roselyn anymore. She is a woman who can fight her own battle.

"Now show the remaining video like how Clara reacted?" Grace changed the topic as she knew that they would be sad with this mention of Sandy alone.

"Who can deny my handsome brother? She was shocked, surprised, and overwhelmed" Edward replied with a wink.

Alex remembered the day she tried to tie him up just because he blackmailed her. He has no idea what she would have done to him yesterday.

"I just left the room as I don't want to disturb the newlywed couple at the most romantic time" Edward said with a sad pout.

"Do you remember what she said?" Edward asked as he grabbed Alex's right hand.

"Ahn" Alex screamed in pain and everyone was worried for him.

"What happened?' Grace asked as she came closer to have a look.

"What did Clara do that you were screaming like this?" Edward didn't leave a chance to

pull his legs.

"My neck is sprained" Alex replied as he gently pressed the area to see. He was uncomfortable since he woke up.

"Now it's getting serious. I want to know what she did to my healthy brother. Call her back home right now" Edward yelled fakely as he made Alex sit in the main chair of the dining table. Rose dialled Clara's number. She left home early in the morning itself not to face Edward anytime soon. She even applied for leave as she can't even face Sandy too. She knew that Edward was planning to reveal the video to all early morning.
