Chapter 41 Dispute time

Walking back home was really tiring for Clara. She refused to come back as she heard about Edward's courtroom and they all were waiting for the culprit to make a statement. Clara loved their teasing but didn't want to get attracted to them more. She knew for a fact that Elena is still there plotting and planning to make Elsa marry Alex at any cost. Clara had no interest in even clinging to Alex. She would be more than grateful for Elena if she helped her to get away from Alex and his family.

She entered the home and found it too silent. Maybe everyone is sleeping already. She thanked the stars and walked slowly to the kitchen to drink water.

"Surprise!" Everyone exclaimed as she jumped in fear. The lights went on all of a sudden and she clutched something near due to fear.

"We thought we should wait till you are back" Grace replied with a sheepish smile as Clara widened her eyes. They don't tease for fun. They tease to live. Even they don't tease whenever they get an opportunity. They create opportunities to tease.

"Dispute time" Edward announced as he sat in the judgment place with either side prosecution.

"Leave me my hand" Alex's words brought her back to reality as she looked at her hand where she was grabbing his hands tightly.

"Get to the point now." Grace is in full form.

"What did you do to my healthy brother that he can't even lift his arm now?" Edward asked directly as Clara widened her eyes. Damn. She didn't hurt him that much? Did she?

"I didn't do anything" Clara replied instantly and Rose laughed with her naive answer.

"He was drunk. He even proposed to you. But we don't know what happened after that." Rose replied with a pout. Clara looked at all unbelievably. They can't be serious.

"That makes sense actually. But it would be more convincing if he has hurt his back or something. But neck? I don't get it" Edward's words made everyone laugh as Alex widened his eyes at his words. He rolled his sleeves up to beat Edward but they are interrupted by Clara.

"He didn't propose to me. I mean he was talking about some other girl" Clara snapped at them angrily as she can't just take this anymore. The full day she was clouded with that new girl Sana and now they are questioning her as if she is the culprit there witereas te was utte-one-writer accétrikerajèrk!

A hell of silence as Clara looked at Alex with accusing stares. Alex was just blank with the accusation. Her look was also different. He didn't know what to predict now.

"So, you are not upset that he proposed to you? You are upset that he didn't propose to you?" Edward asked in a low voice to calculate the reason as Clara enlarged her eyes with realization. Why the hell does she have a mouth?

Alex also looked at Clara with the same question and Clara was tongue-tied for the first time in her entire life not able to reply to anything.

"How can you break her heart especially when the girl is your wife?" Edward fakes his tears but Alex is in no mood to look at his brother's side as he was busy glaring at Clara.

"By the way, who was that girl?" Edward asked to calculate all the girls in the list.

"Is it Anna?" Edward asked seriously.

"Just because you had a crush on Anna in high school, you can't take her name after fifteen years?" Edward gasped loudly. Now Clara is super annoyed to see how many are there in his crush list?

"If it's not Anna, is it Florida?" Edward closed his mouth with his hand.

"That's even worse. She was our Nanny and I knew that he had a secret crush on her. But never thought that it was this deep" Edward laughed out loud and Alex grabbed him to close his mouth so that his secrets would remain secrets. He has no plan to make fun of himself in front of Clara anymore.

"Maybe it's Emma" Rose exclaimed as if she found the answer pretty quickly.

"It was her only who was behind me. I have never seen her like that" Alex retorted strongly.

"So, you don't deny the first two statements?" Clara asked and again her mouth should be damned for sure. Clara looked at all who were like wolves as if they got their prey for night. Damn it.

"The night is dispersed. Go and sleep" Alex announced and Clara was the first one to run to sleep. She doesn't want to face Alex. She even arranged her bed and slept before Alex could come to the room.

Morning Happiness is the exact word that Sandy should be feeling right now after seeing her devastated state. But guess he is not so evil that he could laugh at her miseries. He threw things here and there, destroying his room completely. He grabbed his hair out of frustration.

"Sir, is it true that you married Miss Roselyn Fernandez five years back?" he was bombarded with so many questions once he came out of his home for a walk.

"Why are you not together then?" another set of questions hit him.

"Why did you reveal them exactly on her engagement?" Everyone is very desperate to know the answer.

"Are you planning to get together with Roselyn?" The question made Sandy glare at the person with so much anger that he gulped visibly.

"Calm down" The voice from the left side made everyone turn to that side.

"I will soon arrange a public interview to share about my love and marriage. So why don't you all leave us alone now?" Rose asked who came there with a big suitcase. They clicked many pictures of her to post exclusively with a title that Roselyn is moving to Sandy William's home.

"What are you doing here?" Sandy asked once the reporters left the place Rose got inside the home with her bags without minding answering Sandy at all.

"Let her do what she wants" Alex remembered Frank's words. He didn't like Rose going there to stay with Sandy. But she is not his little baby sister anymore. She knows what she is doing and he should give her the freedom to choose anything for her life.

He looked at Clara who was flustered enough to even look at him. He remembered how she said that he was talking about someone else. So, it was clear that she hit him with something hard because of which his neck is strained. Was she jealous? The thought started nagging Alex. He didn't think of it this way at all.

"I need to clear something" Alex spoke after a long silence. Clara was hoping that he would never talk about the previous night. It's damn embarrassing for her. The fact that whenever one is drunk among them, she was the one to pay for her actions.

"I don't know if you have some thoughts for us. But let me clear this up beforehand. I have no interest in either marriage or love. So" Clara looked at him with so much annoyance, breaking his words.

"If you think that I was jealous or something like that, let me clear this up. You were about to kiss me and I hurt you with that hard big pillow for that. So, snap every thought out of your head." her words were so loud and clear that Alex smiled at her annoyed face. She didn't like the talk itself.

"You never know my hatred towards this shitty marriage thing or this useless love thing. So, you are safe" Her words made him sigh in relief. He can't afford to get tangled with another round of heartbreak. Clara is of course a nice girl and he would want her to stay happy. But he can never love her or give her that place in his heart. "So, we are clear now." Alex spoke with a smile.

"Are we at least friends?" He asked.

"I have known you for just a few days. I don't accept anyone to be my friend" She replied instantly as she has a dark memory of being friends with anyone. Alex was shocked with her words. They definitely share something beautiful and he wants to name them as friends.

"Maybe we are more than strangers and less than friends" Clara cleared the point. "You are one hard nut to crack" Alex laughed at her words. He could see the hesitation in her eyes. She does not want to commit any responsibility to any relationship. He is relieved at least that she is not like Elsa to force him to like her or love her.

But the little information about her from Sharon started worrying him. "Dad invited your family for dinner tonight" Alex's words made Clara stop her track.

"Why?" Clara asked instantly. The words of Sharon started giving proof to Alex. She is acting so weird with the mere mention of her family members, isn't it?

"It's been a while since they met. Why? Don't you like it if they come?" Alex asked the question that was nagging him.

"Who all are coming?" Clara dodged his question easily.

"Maybe your mom, dad and sisters," Alex replied, not giving too many details for Clara's expectation. She wanted to ask if Elena was coming or not. The last stunt she pulled was so scary and Clara is not ready to face that old witch at all.
