Chapter 53 Happy birthday to you

A few years ago...

"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to my princess" Ron and Stella sang the song happily as Clara stood in between them wearing a beautiful dress. It's her eighth birthday and Clara was always pampered by her father and mother.

Bella and Elsa stood there in a corner singing the song with everyone. Elsa was happily clapping for Clara, hoping to get friends with Clara.

Her light blue Cinderella gown waved to and from as she walked to the cake table. Her friends envied her and she was even treated like a real princess. They were jealous for

sure.

Clara looked around and cut the cake harshly making all silent with her actions. She took the cake and walked fast towards Elsa in no seconds Splashing the full cake over her face, she pushed Elsa harshly to the floor. That was so sudden that no one could save Elsa.

"He is my father. If you take anything from him, I will break your legs" Clara screamed as she snatched the doll from Elsa's hand which Ron gifted her the other night. Stella and Ron were too shocked. Ron was shocked to know that Clara had been watching him and Elsa. He was scared that Clara would disclose anything else.

Elsa trembled in fear and started crying vigorously. She was too small to get such hatred from someone.

"The doll is mine," Clara yelled again and ran to her room. Clara's harshness made Elsa scared to death.

Ron's love for Elsa and Elena's remark about Elsa and Ron being perfect father- daughter made Clara mad. She couldn't tell anyone, rather she could stop the happenings. All her frustration is directed toward Elsa who happened to receive love from her father.

Even Stella was not aware of Ron's affair with Bella or Elsa being Ron's daughter. But Clara was super possessive with her father and mother. Their affection for Ron towards Elsa made Clara hate Elsa more. Alina was too small to get tangled in this mess.

Elena smirked at them as if everything was happening as per her plan. She always managed to plant jealousy inside Clara for Elsa. And as per Clara's nature, she wouldn't sit back quietly. She would make sure to display her anger.

As a result of the drama created by Clara, Ron asks Elena to not give her any food that night. It was the first time Clara started getting those punishments, not being able to understand the real reason behind it. Elena even locked her inside the room with no lights.

Clara woke up suddenly when the incident was too much to bear. It looked like it happened just now. The dark room back then was too scary. Clara looked at the calendar and the day is finally here and that's why she had that particular nightmare. Her grandmother's property would be in her name. But right now, she didn't feel necessary for those. She has everything and she can raise Paxton too if she gets his custody. But will his father give that?

She just wishes that her mom sends her birthday wishes through anyone today. She never celebrated her birthday since that day. No one wished her a birthday except for Paxton and Alina.

The mention of Alina made Clara realize that her sister is no longer talking to her. Edward's incident made a slight crack in their relationship.

Shrugging off her thoughts, she took her mobile to send a message to her uncle, Xavier.

"Let's meet up at 4" She sent the message and sighed tiredly.

"The same way her face will be spoiled on her birthday this year" Elsa mumbled, recalling the same incident. She hates Clara for many reasons and this was the first reason among them.

Ron finally got hold of those properties legally with the help of Xavier. He came out of his room where Paxton was seen cleaning his plates.

"Why are you doing this?" Ron asked in his threatening dangerous voice as Elena stood there.

"Sorry, I always tell lies. So, it's better you ask those who always speak truth" Paxton replied plainly as he left for his room. Ron was amazed at the way he spoke. He was just a carbon copy of Clara and Stella.

Ron slapped Paxton the other day when he said that Elena purposefully hurt him. Ron started thinking if it was true or what.

"It's just he doesn't want to depend on us" Elena tried to divert their conversation and as usual Ron believed Elena because it's just easy to move on with life. He doesn't like to be involved in any family politics. He has great ambitions to reach heights and he always concentrated on that alone.

Clara reached the cafe to meet her uncle.

"Dear, how are you?" Xavier asked Clara.

"Christian still works in Gray club" Clara stated the fact rather than answering those formal questions which were just words not from the heart.

"Christian?" Xavier felt nervous all of a sudden.

"The same Christian who was arrested for kidnapping Elsa," Clara said, crossing her arms in a dominating way. There is no way he could lie to her anymore. Xavier gulped the water and looked around to see if he could escape this "Just one question. Was it a setup?" Clara asked a direct question and Xavier didn't reply to anything.

"I still have information about your illegal business. I hope you didn't forget that" Clara added with a small smile. Clara didn't use the information that her mother collected to make Xavier guilty. She doesn't want to be involved in anything. But right now, if she could use that to get information, why not?

"Is it a setup?" Clara asked again who already calculated that someone set up the kidnap for some purpose. There was something off in that whole drama.

"Yes" Xavier replied, closing his eyes as he knew that Clara could do anything and she wouldn't back off till she got an answer.

"Why?" Clara asked in a low voice, fearing for the reason. She doesn't know why she

felt scared all of a sudden. But she could feel that the reason would break her somehow.

Clara walked aimlessly with no emotions. That can't be true. Isn't it?

"I love my princess" She could hear her father's statement again and again. He loved her to the moon back then. Why did he change like this?

"Because if you are married, your grandmother's properties would be transferred to Paxton. Indirectly it would be Ron's property" Xavier's voice was filled with shame. But that was only to see her like that. Other than that, he was too happy with his little business which gained too much profit because of this deal with Ron ####

Clara's tears rolled down her cheeks continuously. Is this the birthday gift she was given?

Why does it have to be like this? How can he do this to his daughter? Clara didn't mind the judging glares from all around seeing her crying face. She sobbed loudly to release her betrayal. It's damn painful.

She wiped her tears quickly when she reached home. She needs to pull herself together. She entered the hall which was quite dark everywhere. She wished to get to her room to cry her heart out. She turned to leave and that's when a loud party popper burst out, startling her. She looked around when the lights were on. She was shocked

to see the arrangements and everyone was singing Happy Birthday to her.

Why did it have to be like this? She is not in the mood to even enjoy this warm celebration with her family. She looked at Frank who was happily clapping for her while Grace danced to show her happiness.

Clara gulped the pain deep inside to at least not to spoil their mood.

"Happy birthday to you." Everyone sang the song together.

She looked at Ron who also joined the crowd to wish her. Her lips wobbled and she couldn't control her emotions. Whatever could happen, she loved her father like anything. Even now when she doesn't talk to him, she can't think of cutting ties with him. But betrayal from the very person is too much to bear.

Clara walked fast towards Ron and in no seconds, she took the cake and smashed them over his face.

A hell of silence as she did that.

"Clara" Bella and Elsa gasped together.

Clara looked at Ron as tears rolled down her cheeks. She turned her heels and ran

away to her room. Everyone is perplexed by her actions.
