Chapter 56 A trap

"Are we going to see her being pampered by all at this party? Or do we have some plans?" Elsa asked her grandmother on the verge of crying. She couldn't take it when Clara was enjoying what was supposed to be hers.

"Let her smile and be happy till the end. Just a few more minutes" Elena is very sure of her plan.

"Someone is here for you" Robbin, the head servant informed Elena as her lips curved up to a fine smile to have the guest there already.

"Thanks. I have never thought of this" Clara mumbled wholeheartedly.

"You're welcome. It's August 31" Alex said as Clara looked at him confused.

"You owe me now. Won't you pay me back on my birthday?" Alex asked, gasping like a kid, making her laugh at him.

"Guess I am now promoted from a stranger. Maybe more than a stranger and less than a friend, right?" Alex asked with a smile. He doesn't know why he wants to be acknowledged as her friend.

"Maybe more than just a friend" Clara replied and looked away instantly as she is too embarrassed to talk like this. Damn it's not her style at all.

"Wow, it's a miracle then," Alex replied proudly.

"Guess I should announce this to your only friend, Jason. He has been murdering me with his stares since I gave you this gift" Alex said as Clara looked at Jason who was not at all in a good mood. He had a gift in his hand. But he kept it inside his jacket once Clara notices them, showing that he won't give her now. Such a grumpy friend he is.

"But why are you being nice to me?" Clara asked as she couldn't get the real reason behind his kindness.

"To be honest, I shouldn't have trapped you in this marriage. I was in a bad situation that day. I don't want to give any explanation. So, the least I could do to you is to at least treat you with my best." Alex reasoned as if explaining himself as to why he has been nice to her. Clara is already amazed by how he is in reality while she has misconceptions about him in the past. He is a perfect gentleman.

"But let me warn you earlier. I am worse than a monster when my trust is broken" Alex spoke when his eyes didn't leave Sandy's side. Clara felt his words were damn true and was scared for split seconds to even come to his bad side.

Clara silently studied his expressions and was surprised to realize how easily she could read him. Did she notice anyone like this? She was just drawn into his handsome face that she even forgot to blink.

The loud and weird heartbeat made her nervous all of a sudden. She turned her gaze not to analyse them anymore. This guy is too charming and she knew that it would be a big problem for her.

"A small present for our sister" Alina played a video on a big screen as everyone gathered to see them. It was created by Elsa and Alina. As Alina was involved, Clara became a little excited as she came running to see them.

Elena eyed Sharon. So, she came to Jason at the right time to divert him or to say to grab him out of the party hall.

"I know you are a guest. But Clara is your friend, right? So, I thought you would help me with this" Sharon said with a smile.

"I have ordered a small present for her. But the delivery guy is new. He didn't know the route. Can you just bring him here?" Sharon asked while Jason got the number from her and went away to get the guy without thinking twice.

In the hall.

The pictures were full of Clara's precious moments right from her childhood. There were some candid pictures of Clara with Alina and Elsa.

Clara smiled seeing them. It's indeed a happy journey besides having such a hard time with Elena. If Clara was smiling, the whole credit goes to Alina alone. She was like a real fairy in Clara's life.

Suddenly the video was stuck and another file started playing. Everyone gasped seeing the picture of Clara in a very short dress standing with a guy who is not at all familiar.

"Noah" Clara gasped audibly to everyone. It was not a morphed pic for sure but the truth is only known to Clara. The picture got changed and it was her hugging Noah and he was kissing her on her forehead.

"Stop it" Clara yelled as she knew that she could never explain to them what happened and the way they were showing, it was making her ugly way.

Another picture where Clara and Noah were seen talking with hands intertwined. The fact that she was wearing Alex's exclusive design, shows that it was after her marriage to Alex.

Alex widened his eyes when he realized that it was the same day when Rose was getting engaged to Daniel.

"I didn't make this" Alina trembled as she had never thought that it would turn like this.

"We didn't raise you like this?" Elena said with tears in her eyes pretending to be so ashamed in front of all while Frank and Grace were too shocked to even react. Alex didn't even blink.

"It's not like what you all are thinking" Clara spoke confidently but her voice cracked thinking that they would have believed those pictures.

Clara walked to Frank with little hope.

"Uncle, please. It's not true" Clara said as she hell would never want Frank to get to her opposite side. The look on his face made her freeze. He was just confused but it was a big blow for Clara. She looked at Grace and was shocked to see the same confusion and hurt in her eyes.

No one believed her words or even wanted to ask her about them.

"My Clara. Happy birthday" A loud voice startled everyone as the person slowly entered the hall.

The person in the picture came there in person. Noah was just smiling at Clara and the red roses he carried were as big as an eagle.

"Noah, what the hell are you trying to pull here?" Clara yelled at Noah as she grabbed his collar harshly, making the flowers shatter into pieces.

"Clara, I am sorry. I didn't want to do this. But I can't live without you. I know I am not as rich as Fernandez. But you love me right" His words shocked Clara and she looked at him wide-eyed.

"He is lying," Clara spoke as her lips wobbled. If she is old Clara, she would just ask them to go to hell and leave the place. But now, she doesn't want them to misunderstand her. She loved the warmth she got from their love. She can't lose that happiness. She tasted the peaceful life and now he'll never wants to go back to her miserable life. But right now, she doesn't have any proof to defend herself.

"Lie? Don't insult our love, Clara. That day When you met me, you told me that you were not happy here. So, I would never let you live here" His words were so convincing and perfect that Clara now felt all trapped. Did Elena pull this stunt?

"Jason? Jason?" Clara mumbled as if she got a lifeline to save herself.

"He knew everything" Clara wiped down her tears as she looked around.

"I met him in the parking lot. He also wants us to be happy. So, he left the place." Clara widened her eyes at his words. That must be a lie for sure. How will she now prove them?

Looking at Noah, her skin burnt in every corner reminding her how she trusted this person back then "I will kill you" Clara came running to his side and started slapping him again and again and Alina came there to stop Clara at the right moment. "Clara, don't worry. We will fight this together. Don't lie to yourself and me. Come on, let's get out of here now" Noah begged in front of Clara and slowly everyone pitied Noah's state. He was a tall and well-built guy with good features. Of course, he is handsome and his appearance was too decent. Seeing Such a person begging with eyes full of tears was not a pleasant thing to watch.

"Get the hell out of here, before I kill you" Clara yelled again trying to beat him but Alina hugged her sister from the backside to stop her from fighting more. "Shut up" Grace screamed as all looked at her side.

"Clara is not Clara Taylor anymore. She is Mrs. Clara Fernandez. We don't care if she loved you in the past or not. Now she is our daughter and you get the hell out of this place" Grace screamed as Clara's lips curved up to a warm smile seeing her support.

"Do you even know the depth of our relationship? It doesn't matter if she is Fernandez or Taylor. She is my Clara." Noah stood up and walked towards Grace, wiping his tears.

"It's proof of our love" He gave some papers in her hand as Grace read the content. Her mouth gaped at it while her hands trembled to result in the papers shattering all over the place.

The main paper fell over Alex's legs who picked them up instantly and his eyes turned dark and cold.
