Chapter 58 Turn of events

The hell of silence followed as Clara replied to Alex's question. Sharon and Elena, we're

as confused as hell. Alex loosened his tie as he gave a long sigh.

"No one will talk now," Alex spoke after analysing something.

"What did you say?" Alex asked Noah as he neared him with long strides. For some time, Noah was badly intimidated by the aura he had.

"I love Clara" Noah stuttered and said it again loud and clear for everyone to hear them. Alex rolled his sleeves up as he finally reached Noah's side.

"What did you say for Clara?" Alex asked again.

"She loves me." Before Noah could finish his sentence, Alex slapped him hard over his face and everyone gasped loudly. Noah didn't expect this at all. He fell over the floor flat and he couldn't even lift his face to see anyone.

"Okay, after that, what did you say?" Alex asked, sitting beside him gritting his teeth harder to stop his anger emitting from his breath.

"S.h.e" Noah is not sure now what he said after that. He stuttered as he looked at Alex's devilish face.

"What did you say?" Alex asked again, eyeing the papers on the floor.

"She was pregnant with my child" Noah stuttered again, not able to predict what this guy would do now. Is he trying to threaten him to spill the truth?

Alex punched hard over his face again as the corner of his lips started oozing out some blood.

"And?" Alex asked in a threatening tone as he gently grabbed Noah closer by his collar.

"Do you want to take her with you?" Alex asked as he tightened the grip over his neck, strangling him.

"Alex, leave him" Sharon took Alex away from Noah where he started coughing badly.

"What are you doing?" Sharon asked, perplexed by his actions.

"He was trapped by Clara and here you are beating him" Sharon yelled at Alex to bring him out from the spell.

"If Clara says that he is lying, it means he is lying," Alex screamed out of his lungs as his face reddened with pure anger and Sharon got a few steps back in horror. She has never seen Alex like this ever.

Clara stood there rooted with the sudden turn of events. She didn't even blink once to check if she was dreaming or not.

More than anyone there, Sandy was just shocked beyond anything. Alexander, who never believed even his best friend without proof, today trusted that girl whom he had known for just a few days. More than shocked, Sandy felt so much rage building inside him seeing Alex's trust. That trust which he wanted for himself.

"If she says it's not what he is showing, it must be the truth" Alex screamed again, breaking the monologues of everyone.

"She is Clara Alexander Fernandez. She doesn't need any proof to prove herself." Alex now yelled at everyone who doubted her. The anger he had is not just for Noah but for everyone around him. He didn't like how his father and grandma were confused, who liked and understood Clara at first instant.

"Before I call the police, leave" Alex yelled at Noah who already started trembling in fear. He stood up with little courage to get Clara.

"Clara, please stop this drama, and let's get away from here." Noah tried his last luck as he just couldn't give up Clara. She is the most beautiful woman in this world he ever knew and this might be the last chance to get her back in his life.

Clara pushed him and slapped him hard over his cheeks with all her strength.

"It's Mrs Fernandez for you. Dare you call my name" She yelled as her eyes were dark red in anger. Noah knew that instant that he lost her forever. It's impossible to even get her back on his friend list. Let alone in his life.

"Thanks for trusting my daughter. She can do anything but this" Ron's words disgusted Clara. She didn't know of his presence till now when they were blaming her, what made him even open his mouth now?

"Thanks for attending the party" Alex replied curtly who is also not pleased with his reaction to this whole drama. Ron should have interfered earlier to stop the drama.

Elena didn't even expect this turn. She stood there glaring at Clara who is now staring at Alex continuously. Elena fisted her hands and the hatred she had for Clara went to thousand folds now. She thought it would be a piece of cake to get Clara back to that home. But it seems she has to work hard and plan big to make this happen.

"Guess you are not that bad" Paxton who was terrified with everything spoke finally to Alex.

"Thanks for being there for my sister" he replied and Alex could only smile at the small boy who was too scared with what was happening.

"I am sorry" Alina mumbled as she hugged Clara.

"Morning 8 sharp at the cafe" Clara snapped at Alina with her not-so-pleased tone which sent chills down her spine.

"Bring your useless boyfriend too" Clara added as if murdering the words. Alina just nodded without even seeing her sister's face.

There was a hell of silence as the people didn't even breathe to disturb the peace. Clara walked towards Alex after contemplating for about an hour.

"I can prove to you all that he was lying" Clara said to Alex alone, not able to even look at Frank of Grace. She didn't know why but she couldn't even look at their side. Both Frank and Grace felt ashamed of it. They were confused with those papers and all the pictures. But now when they thought about it again, they can be more than sure that Clara is not like that girl. Even if she loved Noah, she would have admitted them. For these days, they could at least tell that she is too naive and never lies.

"Dear, I am sorry" Frank was the first to ask as he came in front of her.

"Don't be. I am not your daughter that you are supposed to believe with no proof. I will surely prove that he was lying and I am not like that" Clara's throat blocked when she said those. She is damn hurt but she too knew that she was being unreasonable here. How can they just believe her when they knew her just for a month and more? But it was not for Clara. She accepted them as her family and she couldn't bear the little disappointment she got from them.

"Don't say it like this" Grace grabbed her to hug her.

"Please, grandma. I am not angry or anything. But yeah, I won't leave this matter till I prove it to you." Clara gets adamant now.

She called Jason and put them on speakers.

"He doesn't know anything that happened here, right? Just listen" Clara spoke and Jason attended the call at the right time.

"Jason, you remember Noah, right?" Clara asked as soon as he picked up the call.

"Did he threaten you again to meet him? I will just kill him. How dare he even talk to you? That's why I told you to not even reply to his threats. That bastard" Jason yelled at Clara.

"Relax Jason. He was at the party. Where are you?" Clara asked as her tears rolled down continuously. If Jason had been there, he could have saved her from this insult. Alex grabbed the phone and cut the call.

"I said you are not obliged to prove anything," Alex spoke again. Clara pulled him and hugged him instantly as her sobs got hard and deep. She cried wholeheartedly, emptying all the emotions she had inside.

"Thank you. Thank you" She mumbled them again and again as she grabbed his collar too close to herself snuggling in his arms. The feeling she has right now can never be said in words. She felt so warm and protected in his presence.

"I would have died if I was to get out of this home with that tag." She added as her sobs were unbearable and loud for Frank and Grace to cry along. They felt ashamed to even doubt this girl. Her tears were damn honest and pure.

"That day I met him because he threatened me that he would come home and create a drama here. It was Rose's engagement. I didn't want any problem here because of me." Clara clarified the single mistake she made.

"Other than that, I don't know why he was doing it all." She was going on explaining to everyone as she hugged him more to herself. Alex gently pats her shoulder to make her calm down but she seemed to pour her heart more than he could expect.
