Chapter 82 Awkward lunch

It'd been some days and Rose hadn't talked to anyone. She was in her home, just sleeping and eating. Alex didn't return home. Frank and Grace sighed tiredly seeing their kids. It will take some time for them to overcome this but both of them didn't even try to talk with Sandy. It's as if they knew that Sandy would never accept them in their lives.

"I have invited Sandy for lunch" Frank broke the news as Rose stood in her position. She was eating her sandwiches but stopped abruptly. It's almost 12 and she came down to have her breakfast.

"I have given lists for his favourites. Can you check and add if anything was missing?" Frank asked Rose directly where she didn't even lift her eyes to meet her father.

"I have little work outside." Rose stood up abruptly so that she could get out of the home before Sandy could come there. She has no courage to meet him and at least not now.

"Rose, you can't run away like this forever" Frank tried to grab her but she was nowhere to listen to him or stop. She washed her hands and hurriedly took her purse to leave the home.

"Don't force me" She ran to the entrance to get out of the house. As she opened the gate, Sandy stood there. Both looked at each other in silence. Sandy dressed up in a light blue suit which was gifted by Rose five years ago. Seeing that, her heart pounded like hell. Is he expecting her to come back to him?

"Welcome," Frank asked Sandy to get inside and he walked past Rose who had no courage to even look at him. She took her slippers to just run away but Grace grabbed Rose inside with force.

Sandy sat there on the sofa in an extremely uncomfortable way. The home which was once his comfort place more than any other place in the world became such an odd place for him.

"Let's just have breakfast here and leave" Clara has been adamant now to make Alex eat something. He is not at all paying any attention to his health for the past few days. And she is hell tried to even manage him.

"If I knew that you would be this grumpy, I would never have helped you to sort out the issues'' Clara scoffed at Alex and that's when he looked at her shocked. Damn it's because of her, Sandy was able to tell everything. It's because of her, Alex could see the truth.

"I didn't even get a thanks," She added with a pout. Alex wondered how this girl could change his mood just like that. She has some charm to attract him even when he is at his worst.

"Hey, Clara?" Some girls exclaimed seeing Clara, breaking their moment.

"Hi" Alisha squeezed seeing Clara and she sat beside Alex with no conscience at all. Clara didn't like at all for them to barge in at such a time. She liked to be alone with Alex.

"They are my schoolmates" Clara introduced the girls to Alex in a single line and the girls didn't like the way she introduced them.

"You can say friends also," Alisha retorted.

"Have you ever seen me cry?" Clara asked in a serious tone to which Alisha nodded no.

"Have you ever seen me happy?" She asked again to which Alisha was confused and nodded no. Alex sipped his lemon juice with a small smile. This girl taunts everyone around her and he knows exactly why she is asking those.

"There is no way you were my friend" Clara replied with a scoff and she didn't even regret her manners. She is pissed off of course and she doesn't care if they knew that she was pissed off. Alisha was taken back with her attitude. Back then she never replied to them or even rebelled. She was a perfect weak girl to get bullied but yeah, she never cried once to get away from them. She often walks like a queen and that's what pissed them off the most. But they never expect her to be so blunt.

"I am here with my husband to have some quality time with each other. So, I would appreciate it if you can leave us" Clara added and the girls felt so humiliated but the single line was like a huge payback for all those taunts they made for her back in her sixth grade. Alex coughed back the juice with the words she picked up. He couldn't control his smile and the girls left the table instantly.

"I didn't know that you wanted to spend some quality time with me?" Alex asked while Clara's cheeks flushed visibly. Damn her mouth. She couldn't form any words to reply to him as she drank her juice in one go, making him laugh at her antics.

"I can call them back if you didn't like to spend time with me" Clara snapped at him with a huge pout and Alex felt so light to even have her beside him. She is a perfect girl with all weird characters to make him engaged with her alone with no worries tagging along.

Alex received a message and he got up abruptly, startling Clara. Damn the timing.

"Dad invited Sandy for lunch," Alex said as he walked fast to reach the home as soon as possible. He is scared for the first time to face someone in his life. He is not sure what would happen. He has no idea about how he would apologize to his buddy. He is even not sure if he is his buddy now or not.

The table had so many innovative dishes and the smell was extraordinary. No one can keep their hands away from such food. But still no one even proceeded to take water to the table. A hell of silence as the chairs were filled with people. Alex and Sandy sat exactly opposite to each other while Clara and Rose sat beside Alex.

"We didn't expect Sana to lie to us about such a big thing" Grace took the matter in her hand to start a conversation. Sandy clutched the fork spoon tightly.

"So, you expected me to betray you all?" that was so spontaneous from Sandy's side. He just wanted to know how they could believe Sana and not him?

"It's human instinct to always believe the one who plays victim there." Grace reasoned her actions.

"You screamed that day that you did everything and you were proud of it." Frank spoke after a gap. Because of the anger he had, Sandy started rebelling in the wrong way. One of the reasons Frank and Grace weren't involved was that Sandy didn't deny them.

"Let's stop blaming each other and start our food" Grace stated when she saw that Alex and Rose didn't even lift their eyes to see Sandy or anyone.

"You like Creamy pasta?" Clara exclaimed when both Sandy and Clara got hold of the same container.

"Yes. You too?" Sandy asked with a smile.

"But we made only one bowl as no one eats that." Grace replied apologetically.

"No problem. I will have them." Clara replied and both Grace and Frank spit the water they were having.

"As the lunch is specially for me, I guess it's also for me." Sandy scoffed at Clara still not letting go of the container.

"We became siblings, right? It's normal for a brother to give everything to a sister" Clara added with her ever-so-innocent face and with a huge pout. Alex was amazed at her acting skills. She looked damn cute with these antics. He couldn't take his eyes away from her side.

"I don't share my food with anyone." Sandy replied, holding the container a little tight. "Don't be a kid. Have everything else" Clara gritted her teeth. She started liking the new bond they have and it seems like tom and Jerry and she loved it a lot.

"I don't have any problem being a kid" Sandy scoffed at her while she dropped her jaw to the ground.

"Not just a kid. Immature, atrocious, spoiled kid" Clara snapped at him as she released her hold from the pasta with a huge frown.

Frank and Grace started laughing out loud, breaking their little fight. Even Rose couldn't help but smile at them while Alex was just admiring his wife. He can easily guess how hard she tried to break this little uncomfortable lunch table.

After having their food, they all sat on the couch. Alex and Rose made no contact with Sandy at all. Clara sighed tiredly seeing how hard it is for them to just apologise? Alex says sorry just like that. It's not even hard for him. But what takes it harder for him to apologize to Sandy and grab him for a hug?

"My friends are waiting for me in the club. I need to go" Rose said and stood up. It was so unexpected from her side. Sandy smiled as he stood up abruptly.

"If my presence makes you that much uncomfortable, I shall leave" His words pricked her heart directly. He knew exactly what and when to say.

"Thanks for the lunch. Thanks for your hospitality. Now I don't find it any more important to stay here." Sandy recited the words and started walking. All the while he could see that Rose didn't even lift her eyes from the floor.

Tears dropped from her eyes and Sandy noticed them. He wanted to wipe them but he decided otherwise. Before he could read her further, she fell down instantly. "Rose" Sandy ran to her side instantly. It's as if he knew it before that she would collapse anytime.
