Chapter 54
One of Us
JUSTIN
Cash texted the name to Luca and Matteo to see what they could find. Then they waited again.
They werenât having much luck. Colin seemed to be able to keep his nose clean for the most part and only had a few arrests in his twenties.
âWhy is that name familiar?â Gio muttered, pacing the floor. âI know that from somewhereâ¦â
They watched him for a few minutes as Mikey and Stevo wrote more info on the whiteboard to keep everything safe.
Suddenly, he jumped up and grabbed his phone, dialed, then set it on the table for all to hear.
âWhat have you got, Dad?â Matteo asked.
âWhat is the name of that man who remade the Hollywood Gang?â Gio asked.
âUm, he was some asshole who wanted more power in Southern California and made his way to our area. Umâ¦â Matteo said, and everyone could hear him looking through things and shuffling papers, cursing and mumbling.
âGot it! Colin Mollsen.â
Everyone stopped and looked at each other.
âWhere is their base?â Justin asked with wide eyes, looking at the others.
âIs that him?!â Matteo asked excitedly.
âYES!â Mikey yelled, and Matteo rattled off the last-known address, which was about two hours away, where they did most of their dealing from.
Once they hung up, Stevo already had a map and visuals of the area. Someone in the room muttered, âThank god for Google Earth!â Justin couldnât agree more.
They pulled the area traffic cameras and another nearby business and found that there were people actually there.
Stevo went back to that afternoon and saw the black van pull up and a large man come out and carry Avery inside.
She looked to be drugged because she was not moving at all, and they all knew she would have been putting up a fight otherwise.
âOh, babyâ¦,â Justin whispered, then felt Gioâs hand on his shoulder.
âOkay,â Mikey started. âWe know the where, now we need the how. Letâs make this plan. Get Patterson here for logistics with those local pigs.â
Everyone jumped into action.

Two and a half hours later, Justin was kissing Lexi good night then they were leaving.
âDaddy, will Avery be back tomorrow? I need her,â Lexi asked with a sniffle.
âI think so, princess, I think she is almost done with her errands,â Justin replied, hoping she bought his response.
âBut for now, you get some sleep. Listen to Aunt Kiki and Nona T. If you are good, you donât have to go to school tomorrow.â
Lexi grinned. âI can play with Nona T and Nonno G?â Justin nodded. âI love when they come here!â
Justin would love to smile at how much his daughter loved Gio and Tina, but he just wanted his wife back and his patience had run out.
After another kiss, he closed the door to Mitch and Kikiâs room and went to the locked weapons room where the other men Mikey had assembled were waiting.
Mikey gave Justin several clips and he placed them in the pockets of his cut, then slipped on his leather jacket.
There was another contingency of men staying just in case Dominique showed up for Lexi. Justin didnât think she was that stupid, but it was better to be safe.
He looked around at his brothers and felt their love and respect, and it humbled him.
âThank you for doing this, for helping my wife. I canât tell you what this means to me.
âYou know this plan could go south and you could get hurt or arrested. As always, if you want to back out, now is the time, with no questions asked.â
He waited, and not a single man moved. They all just looked at him before Shaun spoke up.
âPrez, we all part of this club, this brotherhood. We protect our own. And right now, our queen, your wife, needs us, and we would do anything for her like we would you, Kiki, or any other member.â
The others echoed his statement with shouts of, âHell yeah!â
âThank you⦠trulyâ¦,â Justin said, suddenly feeling very tired.
Cash yelled out, âDevilâs Reign!â and everyone else yelled, âFOREVER!â
Then they all moved out. There were several SUVs as well as the bikes, and the little parade moved out to rescue their queen.
20 minutes into the drive, a blocked call came in, and Justin stopped the convoy to answer. He put it on speaker.
âWho is this?â
âAh, Mr. Mariner, I think you might be missing something,â a slimy voice said, making everyoneâs skin crawl.
âWhere the fuck is my wife?â Justin growled. He saw Stevo motion for him to keep him on the line so he could trace it.
âOh, all in good time. But before you get her back, there are some things I need from you,â he said.
âFirst, I need your name.â
âMy name is Colin Mollsen, president of the reformed and much upgraded Hollywood Gang.â
âWell, Colin,â Justin started, âIâm not sure what the fuck you were thinking, but you fucked with the wrong man and the wrong club.
âI want my wife, and if one hair on her body is harmed, I will gut you and make you wish you were never born!â
âPromises, promises. Now, we can talk about you getting your wife back when I get my transportation deal back that you somehow stole, and my new girlfriend gets her daughter back,â Colin said.
Mitch and the others knew that Justin was going to kill this man painfully and could see the veins in his neck bulging in anger. Mitch put a hand on his shoulder to help rein him in.
âI donât think you understand, asshole. I will get my wife AND keep my daughter!â
Colin sighed. âWell, I see that this is going to be done the hard way, and that is your choice. I will call you again soon to see if you have changed your attitude and are ready to negotiate.â
He hung up.
Justin looked at Stevo, who looked up and grinned. âThat is the stupidest motherfucker on the planet! The call was coming from the location we are heading to.â
âOr he is leading us into a trap,â Cash said.
âI donât think so. I am still monitoring the camera feed and there is no unusual activity,â Stevo started. âOh waitâ¦â
Everyone stopped to hear what he had to say, then he looked up and grinned. âNope, stupidest fuckers on the planet. They just had like ten pizzas delivered!â
The men were stunned, and Justin had them start on their way again, praying that it stayed this easy.
