Elias sat behind the large mahogany desk in his office, the skyline of New York spread out before him like an endless sea of lights. He had never asked for the responsibility, but it was thrust upon him after his father's untimely decisions. Elias had always been more focused on business strategy and acquisitions than running a healthcare system, yet here he was, in control of a network of hospitals that spanned the globe.

âMr. Matthews, your 6 PM meeting is in five minutes,â his assistantâs voice crackled through the intercom, snapping him from his thoughts.
He sighed, running a hand through his dark hair. Another meeting, another day of decisions. He straightened his tie and pushed aside the thoughts of the emptiness that lingered beneath his corporate Face comp.
