Vol. 1 Ch. 137
Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You
Leon: âCohabitation?â¦â@@novelbin@@
Rosvitha: âCohabitation?â
Muen: âCohabitation!!⦠What does that mean?â
The little dragon girlâs big eyes were filled with confusion.
Noia glanced at her sister and earnestly explained, âCohabitation refers to when two people who love each other reach a certain stage in their relationship and move in together to live in the same house.â
Muen suddenly realized, âOh~~ So thatâs what it means. Come to think of it, Dad does indeed always sleep in that small room and rarely sleeps with Mom.â
âIf I sleep with your mom a few more times, this house might collapse,â Leon thought to himself.
Noia looked at Leon and Rosvitha, calmly expressing her thoughts, âNow that Mom is pregnant, she needs someone to take care of her all the time.â
âBut when I came back, I noticed that Anna and the others havenât done anything to prepare for Momâs pregnancy, so I assume you havenât planned to tell the maid team yet, right?â
âThe reason Mom did this might be that she doesnât want to disrupt her daily work. I can understand that, but sheâs pregnant after all, and she canât be alone. Muen is still young, and Iâm usually at the academy, so Dad is the most suitable choice.â
After a well-reasoned analysis, the couple couldnât find any counter arguments.
Despite their usual sharp tongues and quick minds, they were both speechless when faced with their eldest daughterâs reasoning.
âNoia, actually, your mom is stillââ Rosvitha tried to explain.
But Noia continued, âAnd also, after the baby is born, wonât you have to move them to Dadâs current nursery? Dad will still have to move in with you, sooner or later, right? Whether itâs sooner or later doesnât make a difference, right?â
Leon was surprisingly persuaded, murmuring, âThat makes senseâ¦â
Itâs true, indeed it is true. But for this couple, each harboring their own concerns, living together is not something that can be done simply because it makes sense.
They have always slept separately. If it were an ordinary human couple, still sleeping in separate rooms after marriage is uncommon, and inevitably invites gossip; Leon initially worried that even though they had a child, continuing to sleep apart might raise suspicions.
But Rosvitha says that among the dragons, there arenât such strict requirements in this regard, or rather, even deeply in love dragon couples highly respect each otherâs personal space.
Because of absolute loyalty to their spouses, thereâs no need to worry even if they sleep apart. Just a hint when they feel like doing something as a couple is sufficient.
But that doesnât mean dragons donât cohabit. In the eyes of everyone, including their two daughters, Leon and Rosvitha are a loving couple, so for them, living together is only natural; not living together would be strange.
The couple never imagined that despite their painstaking efforts to maintain a beautiful family, it would lead them into the abyss of âcohabitationâ.
They exchanged a glance, and Rosvitha decided to debate with her daughter.
âNoia, actually, Mom is just pregnant for less than two months, it doesnât affect anything, and thereâs no rush for Dad to move in with me.â
Implicitly suggesting that they could reconsider this later.
But Noia, with a stern face, stubbornly shook her head, âPregnancy is something that must be taken seriously; there can be no mistakes.â
Listening to her daughterâs words and observing her determined demeanor, Rosvitha couldnât quite comprehend. Why was Noia so concerned about her pregnancy?
Noiaâs earnestness caught Rosvithaâs attention without a doubt. If possible, Rosvitha even thought Noia might consider taking a leave of absence from school to stay home and take care of her.
Despite being precocious for her age, Rosvitha had never seen Noia so obstinate about anything before. Noiaâs concern stemmed from past events.
During the time when their father was in a coma shortly after giving birth to her two sisters, Rosvitha was often melancholic, and Noia caught glimpses of her sadness.
Though Noia was even younger at that time, her innate sensitivity allowed her to sense her motherâs unhappiness, her despair, and her low spirits.
Noia didnât have much life experience back then and didnât know what had happened between her parents.
Nonetheless, she silently swore to herself that if such a situation were to arise again in the future, she wouldnât allow her mother to display that despondent expression ever again.
Now, with her mother pregnant, Noia knew she might have to face some of the past troubles again. Thatâs why she strongly suggested having her father move in to take care of her mother.
Children donât understand the intricacies of adult conflicts and destinies; Noia simply didnât want her mother to be sad and upset anymore.
Seeing that no one at the dinner table was making the final decision, Noia proposed, âIf Mom canât decide, how about we have a family vote?â
âA family vote?â
âYeah, all four of us raise our hands to vote whether we agree for Dad and Mom to live together.â Noia was the first to raise her hand.
Muen followed her sisterâs example, raising his arm high.
Leon didnât immediately express his opinion; instead, he looked at Rosvitha.
Only to see Rosvitha standing there hesitating, Leon rarely sees her so indecisive.
Itâs understandable. After all, they were originally a fake couple, a fake family. The only real things in the whole house are their two lovely daughters. Everything else is just for show, so thereâs really no need to live together.
Leon guessed that Rosvitha would definitely vote âagainst.â
Then he might as well vote against too. In the end, it would be a 2:2 tie, and the result would be to maintain the status quo or decide later.
Rosvitha probably thinks the same way, to drag things out.
However, Rosvithaâs answer surprised Leon a bit.
âI⦠abstain.â
The father and daughters were stunned. Did she really abstain from voting?
Leon squinted at Rosvitha, wondering what she was up to.
However, if she abstained, wouldnât that mean Leonâs final vote would be completely meaninglessâ¦
After a brief surprise, both daughters looked at their dad.
But Leon wasnât particularly shaken. Because living with Rosvitha didnât have a big impact on him.
In terms of âgetting the job done,â they were now evenly matched. As long as he didnât fall into her trap like he did the other night and get morally pressured first, Leon was basically safe.
And from another perspective, living together had its benefits too. At least he didnât have to sneak into Rosvithaâs room anymore to work on the prenatal plan.
He could just wait until she fell asleep at night and then enthusiastically instill human culture into their second child.
With that in mind, Leon shrugged. âNow with two votes in favor and one abstention, it doesnât matter which one I choose; I canât change the outcome.â
Hearing her dad say this, Noiaâs tense little face finally showed a smile. âOkay, then Dad, you can move to Momâs room later.â
âOh, so soonâ¦â
âMm-hmm.â
âOkay, Iâll move later.â
âYay~ Mom and Dad are going to live together!â Muen happily raised her hand, wagging her tail.
The couple looked at each other simultaneously.
Rosvithaâs expression was somewhat complex, and it was hard to tell her exact attitude towards living together.
But undoubtedly, the estranged couple would enter the cohabitation stage starting tonight.
There was no time to reminisce about the nights spent sleeping apart. It was time for husband and wife to cohabit!
Meanwhile, our professional dragon slayer, Leon Casmode, was already contemplating how to strategize for tonightâs first move.
Less than a day after Rosvithaâs â7 PM prohibitionâ was declared, it had already proven to be more of a formality. Well⦠okay, then tonight, letâs start with this and make our first move against her!
