Vol. 1 Ch. 166
Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You
When Rosvitha woke up, it was already afternoon.
Isabella had already left; she couldnât stay long. Without the Dragon King to protect them, their tribe was vulnerable to harassment.
A warm afternoon breeze wafted in through the window, gently fluttering the thin curtains.
Beside her, there was a faint scent of baby milk.
Rosvitha turned her head to see her little daughter lying peacefully by her pillow, sleeping quietly.
Her chubby little fists were clenched tightly, resting on her chest. Her chubby face was peaceful and adorable, just looking at her was incredibly soothing.
On the other side of the baby lay Leon.
Rosvithaâs gaze moved past the baby to Leonâs face.
His breathing was steady, his eyes closed slightly, black hair falling over his forehead, partially covering his eyes.
On this resolute and strong face, there seemed to be a shallow new scar.
Rosvitha wasnât very sensitive to her own beauty and temperament, but she was quite confident in her aesthetic judgment.
Three years ago, when she first saw Leon, she said that scars were the perfect accessory to his handsome face.
Stripped of all femininity, leaving only a man full of masculine charm.
Deep down, the Dragon Clan craved conquest, but at certain moments, Rosvitha also craved to be conquered.
She disliked those dragon nobles and lords, feeling that they were all intolerably vulgar pretty boys.
If he truly wanted to conquer her, heâd have to sport a face as bursting with hormones as Leonâs, right?
Oh, of course, that doesnât mean Leon has conquered her.
Joking aside, to conquer her, this guy would need another two hundred years of practice. But that doesnât stop Rosvitha from secretly admiring the prisonerâs looks.
This queen admits it, sheâs shallow and into looks! And besides, he just happened to grow on her XPânote the choice of words, happened~ to~.
Whatâs wrong with taking a look? Taking a look doesnât mean anything.
Rosvitha slowly reached out her hand, her arm encircling over her youngest daughterâs head, the warm and soft palm gently pressing onto Leonâs hair.
Her fingertips slowly moved downwards, tracing across his forehead, earlobes, nose tip, philtrum, lips, and chin.
âI really want to give you a tail massage,â Rosvitha murmured softly.
âI really want to cut off your tail.â
Her emerald green fingers slightly stiffened, and after a moment of daze, Rosvitha quickly retracted her hand at the speed of light.
âY-youâre not asleep?â
âI woke up when you started peeking at me.â
âWho was peeking at you? Have some shame. I was looking at my daughter.â
âI~ was~ looking~ at~ my~ daughter~~~â Leon repeated Rosvithaâs words mockingly.
Rosvitha gritted her teeth. If their daughter wasnât lying between them, she would have kicked him by now.
Pretending to sleep even though he was awakeâif he likes sleeping so much, heâll have plenty of time to sleep when heâs dead!
Rosvitha ignored him, turned over, and snorted.
Rustleâ
She heard the sounds of movement behind her. Leon sat up and leaned against the headboard, exhaling tiredly.
He scratched his head, clearing his mind a bit before saying with a sigh, âThis morning was really dangerous. Your sister almost saw through us.â
Rosvithaâs pupils dilated slightly, and she also sat up.
The couple leaned against the headboard, starting their afternoon chat.
âMy sister is very smart, but what I didnât expect was that your nonsense actually worked. She believed it.â
âThat wasnât nonsense. It was all based on reality.â
Rosvitha raised an eyebrow and looked at him sideways. âBased on reality?â
âYeah, every word in the story can be matched with something real.â
Rosvitha recalled his far-fetched love story and asked, âWe will meet in a special place and get to know each other in a special way. How does that correspond to reality?â
âDidnât we meet in the dungeon of your Silver Dragon Clan? I got to know you because you were drunk and came to torture me,â Leon shrugged.
âThatâs pretty special.â
Rosvitha pursed her lips and asked, âThen how about âYou traveled across the entire Dragon Clan, traversing thousands of mountains and riversâ?â
Leon spread his hands. âI graduated from the Dragon Slayer Academy at fifteen. I had already been in the military for five years before meeting you. Iâve slain more dragons than a butcher has slaughtered pigs, so that counts as traveling across the entire Dragon Clan.â
Rosvitha gasped, squinting her eyes slightly. âSo thatâs your idea of traveling, huh? Fine, fine, youâre unbeatable, you dog of a man.â
Leon exhaled deeply, staring straight ahead, returning to their previous topic. âYour sister really is smart.â
Rosvitha pursed her lips, recalling the morning when she exchanged glances with Leon. This dog of a man even suggested eliminating Isabella entirely.
Though she knew he was just talking nonsense, Leon would never actually do it. After all, even if he didnât consider her feelings, he had to think of their daughter. That was her aunt, their daughtersâ own auntâhow could he possibly harm her?
But Rosvitha decided to use this opportunity to interrogate him.
âJust because my sister is smart, you thought about killing her to silence her this morning, didnât you?â
âOf course not. I was just talking nonsense to lighten the tense atmosphere.â
Leon said, âBesides, if being too smart could get someone killed, I would have been hacked to pieces a long time ago.â
ââ¦Constantine would never believe he died at the hands of such a shameless man.â
âWhat do you mean, she-dragon? Are you saying Iâm not smart?â
Rosvitha smirked sarcastically. âOh, youâre smart, very smart. Youâre the smartest of all.â
Leon was about to continue bickering with Rosvitha, but suddenly, a serious expression crossed his face. He frowned, lost in thought.@@novelbin@@
Rosvitha noticed his change and asked, âWhatâs wrong?â
Leon fiddled with his fingers and said quietly, âYour sister almost discovered my human identity, but Constantineâ¦he really did find out.â
Hearing this, Rosvitha felt a chill down her spine and grew tense.
âHow could Constantine know your identity? Wasnât this your first meeting?â
Leon nodded. âIt was indeed our first meeting. I had only fought with members of the Red Flame Dragon Clan before, but I had never met their Dragon King.â
Rosvitha thought for a moment and said, âThe Dragon Kingâs lifespan is incredibly long. Itâs possible he wouldnât appear on the battlefield for decades, and youâve only been with the Dragon Slayer Army for five years. Itâs normal that you havenât encountered him.â
âYeah, but how could he know Iâm humanâ¦â Leon sighed.
âDid he recognize my black-gold war chariot? But I had already disguised the armor, and it was dark at night. Itâs unlikely he could have recognized it.â
The couple fell into silent contemplation. Suddenly, Rosvitha realized something.
Constantine had started instigating internal conflicts within the Dragon Clan and annexing minor dragon tribes about a year ago. Coincidentally, it was also a year ago that she and Leonâs mentor, Teg, had agreed that Leon should stay away from the empire for a year.
These two âone yearâ periods⦠were they too much of a coincidence?
