Vol. 2 Ch. 3
Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You
In the afternoon, as promised, Leon accompanied Rosvisser to the Silver Dragon tribe to buy new swimsuits.
In truth, although Leon had been a prince in the Silver Dragon tribe for over a year now, heâd never actually gone shopping with Rosvisser in the tribe before.
Usually, when they needed something, theyâd head to Sky City. There, Leon wasnât a prince, and Rosvisser wasnât the Silver Dragon Queen.
To most of the dragon tribe, they were just an ordinary couple with two adorable daughters.
When they were outside, there was no need to put on a show of being lovey-dovey. After all, there werenât many familiar faces around.
But it was different at home.
If they went out together here, they had to be careful. The Silver Dragons needed to feel the love between their queen and prince radiating everywhere.
In short, they had to spread the âdog foodâ aroundâeven if it was fake, it had to be distributed.
Luckily, after keeping up this pretense of a family for so long, the two of them had gotten pretty good at it.
As they strolled down the quiet path from the Silver Dragon Sanctuary to the village, the couple naturally held hands.
Rosvisser actually enjoyed holding Leonâs handâor rather, she liked the feeling of being touched by his large, rough hands.
His palms were calloused and covered with scars, the hands of a warrior. Only being touched by hands like these gave Rosvisser a genuine feeling of being conquered.
Of course, the most important thing was that his hands were always warm.
That warmth was the perfect complement to her naturally cool body temperature.
She remembered last winter, shortly after she became pregnant with Little Light. Even though she was well cared for, her body temperature issue persisted, and sometimes her hands and feet still felt cold under the covers.
During those times, Leon became her on-call "heating pad."
Holding onto a grumpy but reliable human heater who complained yet still obediently snuggled up to warm youâit was pretty amazing!
And he even had abs. Not only was he warm, but he also felt great to the touch.
As Rosvisser recalled this, she couldnât help but chuckle softly.
Leon glanced at her, baffled.
Whatâs going on? Walking along, and she suddenly bursts out laughing?
Noticing his gaze, Rosvisser quickly straightened her expression, her face turning serious as she asked coolly, âWhy are you looking at me?â
âYou just smiled like a girl on her first date,â Leon pointed out bluntly.
âHow would you know what a girl on her first date looks like? Have you been on dates with other girls besides me?â Of course, the queen's ability to seize on key details was unmatched.
âObviously. What, I canât? You control everythingâare you going to control who Iâve dated, too?â
Before meeting Rosvisser, General Leon had been single for twenty years, too focused on training to even spare five seconds rejecting girls' confessions. He had never gone out with anyone besides his mentorâs wife.
But since the Silver Dragon Queen was in one of her âjealous for no reasonâ moods, Leon decided to humor her.
After all, it wasnât him who was being sour.
Rosvisser gave him a sidelong glare. She knew the guy was bluffing, but she didnât bother calling him out. Instead, she hummed softly.
âThe great dragon-slaying hero has so many fangirls. Of course, itâs only natural for him to date one of them. Why would I even dare to stop you?â
Leon sniffed the air dramatically. âDo you smell that?â
âSmell what?â
âA strong scent of vinegar.â
Rosvisser froze, her eyebrow twitching before she let out a huff. âSo now youâre saying Iâm jealous? Iâm not some jar of vinegar!â
âYouâre not?â
âIâm not.â The words came out clear, firm, and with undeniable authority.
âWell, if you say so.â
If the queen of jealousy says she isnât jealous, Leon wouldnât argue.
Rosvisser didnât push it further either. From past experience, she knew that if she continued, sheâd fall into one of Leonâs logical traps.
It was like being called âtsundereââwhether it was true or not, once that label was out, there was no escaping it.
So rather than waste her breath, she decided to save it for an evening argument, where the stakes would be more fun.
They arrived at the Silver Dragon village. Although the selection of goods wasnât as vast as in Sky City, they could still find what they needed.
First on the listâswimsuits.
Noa and Moon didnât need new ones. This shopping trip was mainly to find something for Rosvisser that wouldnât turn into a scandalous black sheer suit upon contact with water.
At the shop, the owner immediately recognized her queen and rushed to have the staff greet them.
Lines were formed, bows were madeâ
But Rosvisser stopped them before things got too loud. âJust carry on as usual. Weâre here to browse. If we need anything, weâll let you know.â
She never liked making a big scene and preferred to keep things low-key during her private outings.
After a polite nod, the staff returned to their posts.
The couple headed straight for the womenâs swimwear section.
In fairness, the Silver Dragons had a broad taste in fashion. Whether modest or more revealing, the selection was extensive.
Rosvisser picked up a black, slightly revealing swimsuit, holding up the thin straps and sizing it against herself. She turned to Leon. âHow about this one?â
Leon squinted at the swimsuit, which had a bit too little fabric for his liking, and shook his head. âDoesnât look good.â@@novelbin@@
âAlright, how about this one?â Rosvisser grabbed another swimsuit in the same style but a different color.
The fabric was still scarce.
Leon cleared his throat. âStill doesnât look good.â
Rosvisser smiled faintly and picked up yet another swimsuit.
It was another racy piece, and just imagining how it would look on her made Leonâs pulse quicken. Still, he said, âNope. Not good.â
Rosvisser put the swimsuit down and tilted her head. âThis one doesnât look good either? It really shows off my figure.â
Leon scratched his nose and muttered, âIt just doesnât look good...â
âHmph. Human fashion sense is so outdated.â
âCome on, itâs not about fashion sense.â
âThen what is it about?â
âItâs⦠itâs...â
Seeing Leon fumbling for words, Rosvisserâs smile grew. She held the swimsuit and slowly stepped closer to him, eyeing his slightly flushed face. In a soft voice, she teased,
âOh~ I see whatâs happening. Youâre worried that if I wear something like this, you wonât be able to control your feelings. Youâll end up falling for me at the beach, confessing your love, and maybe even lighting up the dragon mark again... Tsk tsk~â
Rosvisser tiptoed and whispered in his ear, âBut itâs okay, hubby. Just say the word, and Iâll buy it and wear it for you privately.â
Leon quickly took a step back. âI donât want to see it! Wear whatever you want; I donât care.â
âFine. Since you donât like these swimsuits, Iâll buy one with a bit more fabric.â
With that, Rosvisser picked out a one-piece swimsuit that only exposed a small section of her collarbone and back.
It completely concealed her breathtaking figure.
*This isnât just âa bitâ more fabric!*
But Leon didnât feel disappointed. If Rosvisser had bought the sexier swimsuits, they might have ended up getting carried away again. And that was an exhausting activityâLeon had no intention of spending all his energy âturning in assignments.â
He was already the father of three, and some moderation in day-to-day life was needed.
Rosvisser finished her shopping and handed the swimsuit to the staff for wrapping.
Leon stepped outside the shop first, waiting by the door.
A few minutes later, Rosvisser emerged.
âWhyâd it take so long?â
âOh, nothing. I just looked at a few other things. Letâs go get some sunscreen.â
âAlright.â
The afternoon passed quickly as the couple gathered everything they needed for the beach trip.
This vacation had two main purposes: keeping their promise to the girls and giving Leon and Rosvisser some time to unwind after the stressful events with the Empire.
But most importantly, it was to reassure Noa that her parentsâ love would always be there.
Leon wanted her to understand that no matter what, her mom and dad would never leave her.
