Vol. 2 Ch. 8
Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You
The evening breeze lifted the beautyâs long hair, letting it sway freely amidst the night and firelight, like the Milky Way flowing down from the heavens.
She was barefoot, walking hand-in-hand on the damp sand with the man known as her 'husband.'
The sand beneath their feet was soft and cool, and occasionally, small pools of seawater would seep into the shallow footprints they left behind.
From the other side, the sound of the waves came, carrying a gentle, lingering melody.
It was Leonâs idea to hold hands.
When he had come to Rosvisser earlier, suggesting they take a walk hand-in-hand on the beach, Rosvisser had thought: *Is this dog-man really about to confess?*
*You really canât resist, can you, dragon slayer? Ready to surrender so soon?*
But, as it turned out, the queen had underestimated him.
Leon said he just wanted to show off their love in front of the kids.
Because, the look in Noaâs eyes from a few days ago had left too strong of an impression on Leon, and he couldnât let it go.
So he thought he might as well take advantage of this beach trip to show Noa, his second daughter, and the youngest one that their mom and dad were still very much in love.
After hearing Leonâs thoughts, Rosvisser naturally didnât refuse.
The couple walked hand-in-hand along the beach. They looked stunning togetherâso striking, in fact, that they drew the attention of many passersby.
There was something truly magnetic about them when they were side by side.
Everything around them seemed to serve as mere background to accentuate their presence, and even the moon and stars in the night sky paled in comparison.
To anyone who didnât know better, they might have thought this couple had come here for a honeymoon photoshoot.
But in reality, they were just casually walking a few steps, holding hands.
Rosvisser raised her hand to smooth out the hair the wind had tousled. "I thought there was more to this. Turns out it really was just a walk."
Leon squeezed her soft hand and shrugged. "What else did you expect?"
"A confession, of course."
Rosvisser said, "The evening breeze, the beach, the sea, the firelight, and starsâitâs the perfect setup for a confession."
"Sure, go ahead then," Leon said.
The queen paused in her steps, looking sideways at the dog-man. "What do you mean? You want *me* to confess?"
"Arenât you the one saying itâs the perfect setup for a confession? Youâve been pushing for it, so go on. Iâm listening."
Rosvisser smirked and playfully punched his arm. "If you want this queen to confess to you, youâll have to wait until the next life."
"Oh, Iâm so touched."
Rosvisser blinked in confusion. "Touched? Touched by what?"
"I was only thinking about this life, but it turns out youâve already made plans for our next life together. Thatâs even more touching than a confession."
Rosvisser let go of Leonâs hand and kicked him straight into the sea.
But fortunately for General Leon, years of military experience had given him ample combat reflexes.@@novelbin@@
In the moment his body fell towards the water, he grabbed onto the edge of Rosvisserâs clothes.
*Splooshâ*
Rosvisserâs surprised scream was drowned out by the crashing of the waves.
The two of them tumbled into the shallow water beside the beach.
When she finally came to her senses, she found herself lying on top of Leon.
Her chin was resting on his chest, and as she looked up, she saw the dog-man lying in the swirling sea, a smug grin plastered across his face as he stared back at her.
Rosvisser bit her lip in frustration and gave his side a firm pinch.
Then, before he could yelp, she covered his mouth with her hand.
The series of movements was so smooth, it was clear she had practiced this many times beforeâlikely in bed.
Satisfied with her revenge, Rosvisser finally stood up.
She crossed her arms over her chest and gave Leon a cold glance, snorting, "In the next life, I hope I donât meet you again."
Leon stood up from the water and leaned in closer. "What about the life after that?"
"Still donât want to."
"Ah, so it seems weâll just have to complete everything we want to do in this life, huh?"
Rosvisser raised an eyebrow and casually asked, "Such as?"
"Like having a few more kids..."
"Ahâ! Youâre just asking to get beaten up!"
Before the words were even fully out of her mouth, Rosvisser laughed and raised her hand, but Leon dodged playfully.
Before she could land her soft slap, he smoothly grabbed her hand again.
Rosvisser symbolically tried to shake him off once or twice.
She couldnât.
"Tsk, childish."
She resigned herself to the childish dragon-slayer and let him hold her hand, continuing to stroll along the beach.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the beach, their three dragon daughters watched their parents, who were now acting like a pair of overgrown children, each with a different expression and internal dialogue.
Moon: âMom and dad are so cute~â
Aurora : "I donât get it, but since mom already kicked dad, it seems reasonable for me to give him an uppercut too, right?"
Noa: âReborn as the daughter of a dragon-slayer, my dad can one-shot Constantine but gets kicked into the sea by mom.â
But Noaâs thoughts didnât stop there.
Leonâs worries had been spot on; Noa had indeed felt a slight... concern about her parentsâ relationship and the stability of their family these past few days.
That night, when she had gone to their room to find them, she was met with an empty space.
And after that night, they were gone for five whole days.
She had asked Anna where her parents had gone.
Anna said they had gone to take care of some things, and asked the princess not to worry.
Noa had asked what kind of things they couldnât even tell their own daughter about.
Annaâs reply was, âSometimes, adult matters are complicated, and even a daughter canât always know.â
Normally, Noa hated being treated like a child.
But this one time, she accepted that explanationâbecause she realized how little she actually understood about her parents.
For so long, she had simply basked in their love, but never truly tried to understand these two people who loved her.
Reflecting on all the little things she had noticed but never questioned, Noaâs sharp mind began to form a rather unpleasant thought:
The thing her parents had been hiding from herâwas it something that could affect their entire family?
If that thing ever got out of control, or was exposed by some outside force, it could destroy their entire family.
Noa couldnât stop thinking about it. Even after her parents returned, the shadow hanging over her heart remained.
It felt like she had returned to the state she had been in when her father first woke up.
She wanted to find proof in every little thing that her parents loved each other, that they cared about their family, and that they would never let it fall apart.
Luckily, Noa K. Mielkve had the best father in the world.
With just a single worried look from her, Leon had done everything in his power to ease his daughterâs concerns.
Her father understood her, loved her, and acted swiftly.
Tonight, both Leon and Rosvisserâs behavior only further solidified in Noaâs heart the belief that *they did love each other, they did care about their family.*
The little dragon girl's worries and troubles slowly began to fade away with the cool night breeze.
Though there was still some lingering fear about the day they might part, the happiness of this momentâlike water overflowing from a cupâwas enough to help Noa forget those fears for the time being.
"Big sis, big sis, big sis!!"
Moon suddenly shook Noaâs arm excitedly, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"What is it?" Noa asked, turning to look at her little sister.
Moon jumped up and down, pointing excitedly towards the distant shoreline. "Mom and dad are doing something kids shouldnât be watching!"
"Huh?"
Noa followed Moonâs finger and, sure enoughâ
There they were, standing in the water, with the waves lapping up around their ankles.
Momâs silver hair cascaded down like a dazzling fringe;
Dadâs large hand was wrapped around her slender waist, pulling her close against his chest.
They were gazing at each other, their noses barely touching, their lips brushing together.
The beauty lifted her hand, gently caressing her husbandâs cheek as she smiled warmly and said, âYou know our daughters are watching, right?â
âI know.â
âThen you also know some things arenât meant for children to see.â
âJust a little bit, Your Majesty.â
Rosvisserâs cheeks flushed pink, and she let out a soft laugh. âFine, fine, just a little~â
She closed her eyes and leaned in to kiss the man in front of her.
Meanwhile, on the other sideâ
Noa was completely entranced.
Now she finally understood Principal Wilsonâs obsessionâit turns out *shipping* is really enjoyable!
Moon, however, quietly covered her youngest sisterâs eyes, whispering seriously, âKids shouldnât be watching this~â
Aurora: Second sister, I see youâre asking for an uppercut too...*
