Vol. 2 Ch. 11
Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You
After the fact, the 'lifeguard' was angry.
Leon sat on the sofa in the hotel, arms crossed, saying nothing.
Before the silence, Mr. Cosmod had angrily scolded her behavior, calling it unethical, a betrayal of his sincere trust, and something that no 200-year-old mature dragon should doâit was childish.
Miss Mielkve, knowing she was in the wrong, listened quietly to Mr. Cosmodâs lecture.
After he finished, Leon fell into silence.
Rosvisser guessed that he was probably, maybe, almost, certainly angryâbecause she had never really seen Leon lose his temper at her before.
Thinking back to her pregnancy, when her emotions had been unstable, Leon had always been patient and coaxed her. Even when she threw the occasional tantrum, he always took it in stride, never adding fuel to the fire.
So⦠the Silver Dragon Queen decided she would try, for the first time in her life, to cheer up a man.
She walked up to the sofa and looked at the silent Leon.
He glanced at her briefly, then quickly turned away, ignoring her.
"Youâ¦"
The queen opened her mouth, ready to unleash a flurry of sweet, flattering words to make him happy.
But when the words reached her lips, she just couldnât say them. It felt as though some invisible force was holding her back.
After some thought, Rosvisser finally forced out a simple sentence:
"Cheer up, okay?"
Leon: ?
Whether or not this actually cheered him up was unclear, but it definitely almost made him laugh out of sheer exasperation.
"What are you trying to do?" Leon asked.
Rosvisser waved her arms. "Isnât it obvious?"
"Obvious how?"
"Iâm trying to make you feel better."
"â¦"
Leon closed his eyes and rubbed his temples, sighing. He thought to himself, *Your Majesty, if you donât know how to cheer someone up, maybe you should just stop. Donât end up embarrassing yourself.*
"Are you happy now?" Rosvisser asked seriously.
Leon looked at her again, lifting his fingers to push up the corners of his mouth into a stiff, forced smile. "Happy. Very happy."
"But I think youâre lying."
"Wow, Your Majesty, youâre so smart."
"Then since Iâm so smart, you should stop being mad."
"â¦"
At that moment, Leon seemed to reach an epiphany.
Rebecca always called him an idiot when it came to women, and now he understood why.
He had lived for twenty-three years, not only failing to figure out the logic of womenâs minds but now also utterly clueless when it came to dragons.
Maybe all females in this world had spent time practicing an indomitable, irrefutable form of logic in the womb before birth.
For example, "Accepting your gift â agreeing to date you."
Or, "Having your baby â confessing love to you."
While the first hadnât happened between him and Rosvisser, it was all too common among younger couples.
As for the second, Leon couldnât fully disagree. It seemed to align perfectly with Rosvisserâs strange and irrefutable way of thinking.
Like now, "Since Iâm smart, you should stop being mad."
It made no sense at all (and it truly didnât), but to Rosvisser, there was probably some reasoning behind it.
Leon scratched his forehead, spread his hands, and said, "Itâs one thing for the girls to cause trouble, but why are you going along with them?"
"What? What did I do? All I did was pretend to faint!"
"Itâs not about pretending or notâitâs a matter of trust between people."
The beautyâs eyes flickered slightly as she replied, "Iâm not a person."
"?"
"Iâm a dragon."
"â¦"
With just a few words, Leon was rendered speechless for the third time.
If she had one more piece of enchanted armor, she could probably silence and utterly disarm him at this point.
However, Leon wasnât actually angry.
He just felt like he had been played by this mother dragon yet again.
But this time, she didnât jump out and mock him with her usual "Haha, you fell for it again. You canât outsmart me," routine. Instead, she seemed a little guilty.
Leon thought it might be the perfect time to reel in this rare opportunity and make Rosvisser feel bad for once.
But General Leon probably overestimated himself.
When it came to cheering people up, Rosvisser was like a clueless fishâone that wouldnât even bite the bait.
She could only coax Leon to eat carrots, eggplants, or to do his "homework."
Leon could only wish that, when children are born, they inherit personality traits from their mothers but not their tendency to drive him insane.
That way, Rosvisser wouldnât be both deviously manipulative *and* adorably clueless, constantly messing with his sanity.
"I say!"
With a sudden clap on the table, Rosvisser snapped Leon out of his tangled thoughts.
He stared at her in surprise, wondering why her voice had suddenly gotten so loud.
Wasnât she just meekly trying to make him happy a moment ago?
Seeing that she had his attention, Rosvisser put her hands on her hips, shook her silver tail, and looked him in the eye.
"Do you think you can just bask in the sunshine and blossom all over, huh? Are you really going to stay mad no matter how much I try to cheer you up?"
"Dragon lady, is it possible that I havenât said more than ten words this whole timeâ¦"
"I donât care! Youâre just getting too full of yourself, Cosmod!"
Ah, women.
Unexpected yet entirely predictable.
Leon collapsed hopelessly onto the sofa, remembering something his master had once told him.
Master had said, "When a woman tries to cheer you up, youâd better give her a smile within three sentences."
Innocent Leon had asked why.
Master had replied, "Because if she canât cheer you up within three sentences, youâll have to start cheering her up instead."@@novelbin@@
But Leon figured there probably wasnât any chance of him cheering up Rosvisser now.
She had closed the curtains, kicked off her shoes, and turned on the romantic mood lighting in the hotel room.
Suddenly, the entire room was bathed in a warm, intimate orange glow, casting soft shadows on Rosvisserâs fair, delicate shoulders, making them look round and translucent.
Her beautiful, slightly angry face inched closer to him, slowly moving toward Leon.
Her slender, white index and middle fingers became two "long legs," playfully walking up the back of the sofa until they reached Leonâs neck.
No matter how you looked at her features, they were stunning. Even when her face was expressionless, it was a perfect, flawless sight.
But when she wanted to seduce her captive into submission, the allure on that perfect face became even more irresistible.
And now, she wasnât just exuding charmâthere was also a trace of inexplicable anger.
This scene reminded Leon of when he had first woken up from his two-year coma. Back then, Rosvisser had often forced him to "do his homework" while wearing this same sulky expression.
But since he was revisiting memories of the last "season," Leon felt confident this time.
Leaning back against the sofa, he glanced down at Rosvisserâs casual slip dress and snorted coldly.
"I donât feel a thing, dragon lady. This alone wonât shake a dragon-slayerâs will."
"Oh? So confident?"
"Of course."
"What if I change into... the new swimsuit I bought?"
Leon blinked, growing even more smug. "That full-coverage one-piece swimsuit? You could wear even less fabric, and I wouldnât bat an eye!"
Rosvisser raised her elegant brows, her soft body gently leaning against Leonâs chest. She looked up at him, a wicked smile on her lips.
"Who said I only bought one swimsuit?"
"Huh?"
