Vol. 2 Ch. 27
Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You
Leon sat atop the broad back of the dragon, flipping through the book his master had just given him, *The Gate of Nine Infernos*.
The title sounded intimidating, but the content was packed with valuable information.
As his master had mentioned, it was a book on physical training techniques.
Judging from the table of contents, the majority of the earlier chapters focused on teaching the reader how to train their body more effectively, to reach a level beyond human limitations.
But the latter chapters were the real core of *The Gate of Nine Infernos*.
Leon skimmed through them without reading closely, planning to thoroughly study and practice once he returned home.
Just then, Rosvisser asked, âSo, whatâs your plan next?â
"Well... My master and I are going to investigate by connecting three things: the former kingâs fake death, the human-dragon war, and the Empireâs pursuit of me."@@novelbin@@
"Oh, sounds like your task just got heavier," Rosvisser remarked.
Leon chuckled. "Not necessarily."
âHow so?â
âWhen I used to do math problems at school, the scariest ones werenât the long problemsâthey were the short ones. Thereâs too little information given, so itâs harder to figure out the correct solution.â
Leon continued, âOn the other hand, the longer the problem, the more information is provided, which makes it easier to find the answer. So, combining all these clues might actually help us find the answer faster.â
The queen didnât reply immediately, staying silent for a moment before giving a small, approving laugh. "Youâre getting smarter, Leon."
âPeople grow,â he replied.
âNo, I donât think itâs about growth.â
Leon raised an eyebrow. âThen what is it about?â
"Proximity to others influences you. You've been living with me for so longâgetting smarter is only natural."
Leon smirked. When it came to playful self-praise, they were equally matched as a couple.
âBy the way, that book on physical training... do you plan to practice it?â Rosvisser asked.
âOf course.â
âOhâ¦â The queen trailed off, as if deep in thought.
Leon sensed that she was brewing some sort of plan.
He wasnât sure what exactly she was up to, but she definitely wouldnât ask about *The Gate of Nine Infernos* without reason.
With this in mind, Leon shoved the book deeper into his pocket.
They continued chatting casually for the next few hours until they finally returned to the Silver Dragon Sanctuary.
Having left in the morning and returned by evening, the speed of the Silver Dragons was truly remarkable.
Upon entering the front courtyard of the sanctuary, their maid Milan approached and, after bowing, quietly informed, âYour Majesty, Princess Isha has arrived.â
Rosvisser stopped in her tracks. "My sister? When did she arrive?"
âShe arrived not long ago. Sheâs playing with Princess Moon in the backyard right now.â
âGot it. Prepare dinner and a guest room.â
Milan nodded. âYes, Your Majesty.â She then left to make the preparations.
Rosvisser pursed her lips, puzzled. âMy sister always shows up at the most unexpected times.â
Leon quipped, âI get itâSilver Dragons are good at speed, Red Dragons are good at surprise attacks.â
The queen shot him a glance. âWhen we see my sister, just say we were out patrolling the borders.â
âRight, because patrolling the borders is the perfect excuse to sneak off and slack, Your Majesty.â
Rosvisser playfully punched him in the chest. âStop being cheeky, you fool.â
The two made their way to the backyard.
As expected, Isha was there, sitting on a bench under the old locust tree, holding Moon in her lap and affectionately rubbing her little face.
"Moon, sweetie~ Do you want to come play at the Red Dragon Sanctuary with your auntie?"
âI do~â
âYou really do? Then give Auntie a kiss, and I'll take you tomorrow.â
âAuntie, kiss kiss~â
Moon cupped her auntâs face and gave her a big smooch.
âMmm⦠Auntieâs changed her mind, one kiss isnât enoughâI need two.â
Little Moon, understanding her auntâs playful nature, gave her several more kisses.
Isha beamed with joy.
Curse it, she thought. I need to get my sister and her husband to have more kids. That way, I can use the excuse, âYou have too many kidsâlet me take care of a couple for you,â and sneakily bring more adorable dragon children back to the Red Dragon Sanctuary with me.
âHey, sis, youâre here.â
Still immersed in showering Moon with affection, Isha looked up at her sisterâs voice. âOh, the lovebirds are back. Whatâs thisârunning off without even bringing the kids?â
Rosvisserâs cheeks flushed. âWe werenât sneaking off anywhere, Leon and I went to patrol the borders.â
âHah, patrolling the bordersâa perfect excuse to slack off and have a secret date.â
âPffââ Leon was about to burst into laughter, but Rosvisser elbowed him sharply in the side.
âLittle sis, if youâre going to lie, at least donât blush.â
Rosvisserâs heart skipped a beat, worried that her sister might figure something out.
If Isha found out they had met with Leonâs human master and a human girl to discuss human schemes, the household would be in chaos.
At least for now, Rosvisser had no idea how to deal with the aftermath of such a revelation, so she had been keeping it hidden from Isha.
Fortunately, Isha didnât press any further and simply assumed her sister was making excuses for a romantic outing with her husband.
She lowered her head and resumed playing with Moon.
Rosvisser let out a sigh of relief.
âOh, by the way, little sis, in your last letter, you said your youngest daughterâs name is decided as Aurora, right?â
âYeah, her formal name is Aurora.â
Isha nodded. âNice name.â
With that, she stood up, still holding Moon, and eagerly said, âTake me to see the baby. Itâs been three months since I last saw herâIâm sure she can call me Auntie by now, right?â
Upon hearing this, Leon and Rosvisser exchanged a look, their faces suddenly turning a bit awkward.
Isha paused. âWhatâs with the faces? Is something wrong with Aurora?â
Without saying anything, the couple led Isha to the bedroom.
When they arrived, Ishaâs aunt instincts kicked in, and she immediately snuggled up to the little pink dragon, holding her close.
Moon: So, Auntie, love can fade, huh?
Aurora still had that delightful baby scent, and her chubby cheeks were so smooth and soft, perfect for cuddling.
âSee? Sheâs fine. Why were you two making those weird faces earlier?â Isha asked, not particularly concerned with their answer, and went back to enjoying the babyâs company. âCome on, Aurora, say Auntie Isha~ Auntie~â
Before Aurora could respond, Rosvisser spoke up. âSis, actually⦠Aurora still canât speak.â
Isha blinked in surprise. âWhat? How is that possible? Itâs been three months alreadyâhow can she still not talk?â
âItâs true, sis. Leon and I have been trying to teach her for a month, but Aurora still wonât say even the simplest âDaddyâ or âMommy.ââ
Moon jumped in, waving her hand. âShe canât say âSisterâ either!â
âYeah, sheâs never called Moon or Noa âSister.â Weâre a little worried she might not be healthy, so we were thinking of taking her to Sky City tomorrow for a check-up.â
âPff, nonsense! My niece is perfectly healthy,â Isha scoffed as she hugged the little dragon closer. âSweetheart, your mom and dad say youâre three months old and still havenât spoken. Auntie doesnât believe it. Come on, call me âAuntieâ and prove them wrong.â
Leon sighed. âSis, you should just give up. Iâve practically worn out my tongue this past month, but Auroraââ
âIsha~ Auntie~â
